Persona 5 PS4/PS3 comparison screens

Looks great.

I'm not even sure a Pro mode (should the devs choose to do anything with it) being downsampled from a higher resolution will offer significant IQ improvements.

60 FPS is great. Was not expecting that.

Huh, neat. The squares in the enemy names are randomly-generated each time. Really helps sell that they're basically abstract versions of newspaper clippings.

The English translation & dubbing takes time, I'd assume. It was either that or pull a BlazBlue: Central Fiction & don't dub it at all just to get the game out sooner in the West.

Knowing that the Persona English dubs are usually on-point, I don't mind the wait.
Dubbing doesn't usually take that long – or, at least, not long enough to delay the game by months and months. I wouldn't be surprised if the wait's just because there's so much text and because parts of the interface will need to be redesigned/reprogrammed to work with English typographic rules/qualities to look good.

Not very convinced about the 60fps part, bur this is one game where I don't really care.

Looks gorgeous as always, and it's good to see that the PS3 version isn't missing much, resolution aside.

Shame it's still cross gen.

This started as a PS3 game, and I am very glad that it's still there.

The game will play and look impressive on the PS4, I'm not sure what's the problem with a PS3 version.

It's not like if the PS3 version is gone it will magically become better on the PS4, and no, Atlus would shoot themselves in the foot to trash all those hours spent on the PS3 version.

It honestly doesn't even matter if it "started" as a PS3 or PS4 game. Anyone who thinks that Japanese developers could be pumping out technically amazing games on PS4 but are held back by the PS3 are deluded.

I don't want to be a downer. But many games have 1080 60fps videos while only being 30 fps itself.

Naruto UNS4 comes to mind.

Cancelling the PS3 version don't make anything better at that stage.
Being against crossgen makes sense when the game is in it's inception. Persona 5 is just really late so it seems kinda weird to still release on PS3.

I'm happy with the PS4 version just being 1080p and locked framerate.

Believes Dragon Quest is a franchise managed by Sony
Not sure where people are saying its the same?Yeah the assets are the same, but the PS4 version clearly looks far clearer from 1080p

It still looks great, and they'll sell a lot more copies as a cross platform game.

Seeing what they could do on a solely PS4 game is tantalizing, though.
Yeah, this is what I meant by that. Bigger areas, less loading zones, intricate boss battles and cutscenes with different things going on. Basically not being held back by the PS3s memory limitations.

If the PS4 is matching the PS3 in graphical effects with the only difference is that it's 1080p versus 720p, I imagine that it would probably be 60 fps on PS4.

Persona 5 is basically a PS3 game. I guess a resolution and framerate bump is a lot easier than actually creating new/better visual assets.

But man, hopefully this game takes advantage of PS4 Pro and HDR.

Uhhh, those colors....in HDR.

That's why I said English translation & dubbing.
