The Zero Time Dilemma Pre-Order Debacle (months wait for broken watches)

What's funny is if they used Digital River for distribution, they could of blamed everything on them and could of got away with it.

Thank you for making this new thread to summarize the issues and hopefully attract more eyers on GAF and elsewhere to this problem. It's ludicrous how terribly this whole debacle has played out, it'd be funny if we were in a sitcom, but not so in reality. Aksys deserves a lawsuit for this.

To make matters worse they had the nerve to sell these at Anime Expo (I think) after saying they had to delay our shipments

Yeah, that was the shittiest part in my opinion.

They already had our pre-orders, so fuck us... We can wait at the back of the line.

Here's mine:

This watch clusterfuck has seemed awfully fitting given how disappointing the game itself was. :'(

Did the article say something about people (like me) who didn't even receive the email with the code from Amazon?

Because I still don't have it.

At this rate I'm too lazy to talk with Amazon CS and just wait until the watches are available for regular sale through Aksys.

Personally I still blame Amazon the most for this debacle, but Aksys definitely is partially to blame as well.

Did anyone actually get one that wasn't broken (packaging, watch itself) in some way? I should consider myself lucky that mine I was able to jam the detatched button back on

At least some of you actually received the watch in the end. I've received no email from Amazon about it and, since I'm in Europe, would have to pay exorbitant import fees if they do ever get around to informing me they now have the bonuses.

Haven't gotten mine either, I never got sent the game as well, no idea what amazon is doing.

I still don't even have my games.

Guys......send help. Amazon CS has said nothing and have no information for me when I try to call or talk to them online besides "its delayed."

If you think that's disappointing, wait for the actual game.

Gonna have to stop you right there. While a lot, I do mean a Lot was cut do the budget, there isn't much that can compare to
being in Carlos' and later, The whole group's shoes and cheating the game by abusing the timeline system in a way that wasn't expected.
I havent had this much pure unadulterated FUN with a VN and its story since the Never7's
your mind makes it real instantly virus twist along with the Scifi vs Magic theme in the background.

While some things were dissapointing there is no way on this green earth I can say that ZTD was dissapointing as a whole or a waste of my time. I genuinely enjoyed my short time with it, flaws and all.

Gonna cross-post myself from the other thread but I'm in the minority for sure:
Just got home and got my watch. Despite the bubble mailer, my case was perfectly intact. Ordered my original copy with 2-day shipping if that makes a difference.

Here are the pics. What may look like cracks are actually tape and the glue thingy.

Edit: Watch works perfectly and I just set the time and date. Only scuffing is where it's supposed to be. Screen is perfectly clear with no scuffs or cracks.

Looking forward to someone popping in here and blaming the customer for having standards regarding the quality of a physical pre order incentive.

Oh wait...

I don't understand why we expect pristine physical objects from companies that make video game software. Maybe video game companies (other than Nintendo) should just stop offering such incentives. Nintendo has experience and infrastructure making physical objects, so they are one of the few that are exempt from this recommendation.

Apologies if I'm wrong, but weren't you also blaming people upset with Hello Games and Shaun Murray?

it also should be noted that the guy who was accidentally shipped over 60 watches from amazon received them in two boxes.

the ones on the left are clean and unbroken, the ones on the right are like the crap the rest of us got. they are for sure sending out "salvaged" watches from the first batch

Yeah I got watches from the right box , I did two separate orders and I'm just glad I finally got the watches but what a huge fuck up

Wouldn't be surprised if they continue selling the new batch of watches at conventions , most likely New York comic con is next

if they don't have the intention to exchange the broken one.... this will not feel good...

Aksys are awful. I still haven't forgiven them for denying Europeans physical copies of ZTD.

In this case though, they don't, and have never published games in the EU. They don't have a branch there to do so, which is why it's always been Riding Star etc doing them.

Thought the game was better than vlr. Like a million times better. Also no issues with my watch here. The wait sure was odd though.

Rising Star Games wanted to publish it and Aksys either denied them or wanted too much money for it.

Wouldn't it technically be on Japan's end to do the pricing, not Aksys'? Could have been a negotiated deal, since they were the ones that announced the deal to the world, given all the rights to it.

Rising Star bought the European distribution rights for VLR from Aksys (I assume they own the rights to the localised version) but it seems for ZTD Aksys were happy to hold onto the rights and just sell digital copies in Europe.

Edit: Wait that might not be true regarding VLR as the European version is missing the English voices that Aksys recorded. Either way, screw Aksys for denying us physical copies!

How the fuck do all these watches get damaged to this degree through shipping? Were they dropped from a plane without it landing or something?

Lol, the only tweets about the watches the Aksys twitter account is responding to is about weather or not the scratches on he face are intentional.
