Mr. Robot season_2.0 |OT| We Would Care, Bill - Wednesdays on USA

Show started at 9 and credits were rolling at 9:50. Where's the last 10 minutes of the finale?

It seemed like the only episode that was wholly contained to its 60 minutes. Falling Water(s?) was previewed at the back end of the hour

So any thoughts on whether
Angela
was in on everything from the beginning and worked Ollie as a mark to make the first dominoes fall or whether she got more heavily involved later down the line?

I think she was only in it after the episode from last week and what transpired in her story

This episode was supposed to be shown back to back with last week's episode, but they split it up to spread it out and give the show another week. It definitely felt much shorter.

Legitimately caught off guard that Tyrell was real. I was so sure he was another Mr. Robot for Eliot.

Then the whole Angela thing is completely out of left field.

And the Joey Bada$$, no idea what the fuck that could mean

Thought this at first until he pulled the gun. Then Inrealized they aren't going to use the same twist twice.

So I take it that Joey Bada$$ is going to kill them since they NOPED the fuck out of there without knowing that Romero was a freak accident.

Tyrell is ALIVE folks. Some of y'all doubted, but he's real thanks to the phone call with Angela. Love the finale. A great conclusion to the whole "control is an illusion" theme, especially the climax when Tyrell shot Elliot.

Even though it's a cliffhanger, I'm pretty sure the final second was enough to show that the hack has executed.

Basically Dark Army getting rid of fsociety. You already see Trenton talking about trying to generate the keys to decrypt ECorp's files, while Mobley's trying to NOPE his way out.

Tyrell being real is a great swerve. The Angela thing though...gotta figure it out.

Still shocked at how much the FBI put together but it's greasy. That noose is getting tighter and tighter.

And I doubt the hack actually had anything to do with blowing up the paper records. I bet it's about controlling electricity and money.

I think I'll wait till season three is over and watch them all over the course of a couple days.

As for this season, I liked it, but not as much as I was way into the first season. There was a little too much slowness on purpose. I mean that literally. Elliot took his sweet ass time getting into the elevator, getting out of the elevator, going up to the computer, going to the window, etc. Dramatic effect and all, but it feels like stalling.

And I'm still running with the theory that Tyrell is part of Elliot, too. Elliot "shot" himself to protect the plan, and we won't see him for most of next season where it's Mr Robot and Tyrell heavy, until Elliot starts life hacking and wins control again.

I don't think he's going to kill them. He's going to draft them. It'd be too expected for Mobley and Trenton to die off-screen, so I think he's there to draft them in Whiterose's war against Phillip. This season has built to the point where Whiterose and Phillip are at odds, and I think next season is going to elaborate on that.

I assume Joey was there to murder both of them on behalf of Whiterose.

How do you explain the phone call with Angela and Tyrell? There's no way he's an alter ego now.

I think the show is going to pull another trick on us, where we get Tyrell a lot up front, and then it'll reveal that Elliot thinks he's Tyrell and Mr Robot, and they're duking it out until he takes control. The heavy breathing before he speaks is just like when he phoned Elliot in his mom's house/jail, so I just have this feeling Sam's trying to make us believe he's real, when really he is now Elliot's main persona.

What if Angela isn't real either?

Haha, I said that a few days back.

Everything is in Elliot's head.

I don't want complete resolution, but I want to feel like we have reached a certain point. Where have we even gone this season? Seems like a total side step, and nothing about the finale indicates that's going to change.

I don't know, we learned quite a bit. We know the FBI knows a shitload about what is going down. We know the Dark Army is far more embedded in this than what season 1 would have led you to believe. We know what stage 2 is. Based on the after-credits sequence, we know that there is a way to undo the hack.

Joey Bada$$ almost certainly has to be there on behalf of White Rose to clean up the "loose ends" that now have an idea as to how they can undo 5/9

So meta, USA.

I think for the way they re-introduced those characters that Badass isnt there to kill them, but a way to introduce them back into the storyline and explain away how they made us think they were dead/arrested. While the dark army is big on killing lose ends, seems weird to waste that scene on characters where you could have easily explained they were dead when Darlene was in the investigation room

Exactly. I don't think this show is for some people if they expect an arc to be solved before Sam is ready to climax/conclude the series.

I can't remember, but was it ever revealed what Mr. Robot wanted from Elliot's apartment?

Skype session, AFAIK. r/Mr.Robot was big on that Skype manual.

Except we already knew that undoing the hack was possible, it's just inefficient to do so with the current methodologies (AFAIK). With how encryption works, there was always a way to undo the hack. The problem is that it takes an incomprehensible amount of time to crack the encryption due to processors/algorithms not being optimal for the job of generating keys.

Who says Dom is real?

Nearly everyone has interacted with her. Whiterose, Angela, Darlene, Mobley, the list goes on...

What if none of them are real?

Almost all of the Mr. Robot characters have interacted with one another. Pfft, what's next? The universe isn't real if our eyes aren't real? :p

But that doesn't really make sense. Tyrell has had interactions since the first episode. There's really no way he can be an alter ego unless he had died and represented Elliot's darker side. Speaking of that, we now know that Robot didn't kill him as he passed the gun along to him, and Dom's bullet being a red herring that instead worked to connect Darlene and fsociety to the Fun Society arcade.

Anyone checking out this Falling Water show?

From GoT's S6 finale, Mr. Robot, and now this (among other shows I've seen this past year), it's clear that Hannibal's directorial stylings were more prescient than even the creators knew.

Now watch as half those shows continue to miss the point entirely why Hannibal worked.

I think he was real in the first season, but that Elliot took over his personality once the weird jumps were happening, the sort of out-of-body experiences he was having with Mr Robot.

But I will definitely admit I am likely wrong on this one. Just a hunch!

lol at people expecting some sort of complete resolution of everything. The show's gotta keep going.

The craziest thing to me is why the FBI is treating Darlene with any sort of respect - if they know that much, they would be basically straight up waterboarding her right now.

Water boarding doesn't actually work at getting useful information. They want Darlene to turn her brother in.

Her joining forces with the people who are literally trying to destroy Evil Corp is not surprising at all.

Still mostly in the "Tyrell is now an Elliott alt" camp. There's no evidence that anyone else sees Tyrell that episode. Even the elevator operator only seems to look at Elliott. There's the Tyrell quote "you did this to yourself Elliott" too, which can be taken a few ways. And references to "we". Can't explain what Angela hears of course.

So what happen here. Season 1 was stellar, this season is just.. convoluted and confusing. Someone can tell me what the funk did I just watch for 12 episodes? A dream, inside a dream, outside Elliots, inside Angela....

Blatantly stolen from reddit, but this ol' classic basically sums up Elliot's monologue:

lol.

The Dark Army is FARRRRR more important than Season 1 let on. Whiterose and the CEO of E. Corps truce is breaking down (see aftercredits of Season 1), the FBI has been on F.Society WAY before the hack was even completed apparently.

There's many things this season introduced. I'm not sure why people are so disappointed it didn't end cleanly. This isn't the end of the show, and if USA would cancel it, Sam would be notified WAY ahead of time to plot it to a clean end.

The Angela turn happened after the White Rose conversation guys...

Yep. Duh. I was pretty convinced Elliot developed another split, but I guess not. They do need to explain where Tyrell has been and how the fuck he's walking around in broad daylight. Only thing I can think of is a time lapse off camera and Scott Knowles has already been arrested for his wife's murder.

EXCELLENT season finale!

water_wendi

Water is not wet!
Best thing about the finale is that it didnt jump the shark with some time travel bullshit or was part of the Once Upon a Time-verse or whatever dumb theories are floating around. The bad news is that the episode felt boring. No real tension. Compare this to the episode where the E Corp router hack happens.

"WHAT.. IS STAGE 2? What dastardly thing could it be? Oh.. they are just going to get rid of the hard copy backups. ZZZZzzzzZZZ"
