Is this any good?

I've been out of the loop with the pvp meta for the last year and I'm not even sure what's good anymore.

Honestly (from the little I've seen in pvp) it seems like all guns are kind of useful.

Any Xbros running a fresh raid today before hotfix, or after really, let me know. GT same as here!

Apologies again dudes for the connection issues last night :-(

I kinda like the Khvostov even without the upgrades. Might try it in PVP. I just wanna spray and pray now. don't really care about playing serious in PVP anymore. just doing it for Marks now.

Feels good to have the raid on farm mode - it's incredibly fun. Probably my favorite raid next to VOG.

I keep reading statements like this which makes me really wanna try the new raid. VoG still the best content in the game IMO including everything they've added in DLC/expansions. If WotM is close or even better I'd have no problems running that every week.

Still only ~340 light tho lol

Another vote for me for WotM as equal to the greatness that VoG is! It's a great raid with fun mechanics that requires constant and consistent communication and teamwork. You'll have to ALL be able to switch up roles and adapt if you stand a shot at beating the last encounter. Sooooo goooood.

But as others have said... def 365-ish minimum it seems. I can imagine it being MUCH easier at 375-ish.

WotM seems way less puzzly than KF from what i've seen and really seems like it lets everyone have equal participation. even CE had that issue where you had to rely on one person for the final boss to beat it.

Have people figured out the objective "best" PvE primary weapons in each class yes? Looking to find either the best Scout Rifle, Hand Cannon (I heard Imago Loop?), Pulse Rifle (Grasp?), and Assault Rifle, but am not entirely sure if the Destiny community has a consensus on these yet.

Yeah nobody can really "relax" in WotM like you could in all the other raids. Including VoG.

I love that about this raid. A group really is only as strong as it's weakest player now. It's got to be a nightmare carrying a 350 through! I cant see how it's been possible.

The light difference is real. My first clear was at 368 and now I'm 378. It feels like it can take twice as much damage before needing to hide, and I 2 shot Shanks where they took 3 or 4 before.

The Khostov is probably the best exotic in RoI, especially in "Dr. Nope" mode at 900 RPM. It's pure fun to use, and very satisfying in PvP, once you get used to the recoil and can control it better. Notice I said better, as no one can truly control this crazy Russian gun.

one Gaffer here mentioned that they carried people in 340s and it was pretty smooth for them. i guess as long as you know what you're doing, it shouldn't be too hard until the last boss where it gets intense.

It seems like everything from TTK is better than anything from Rise of Iron. I couldn't find a better primary than Hung Jury either and I think Sleeper Simulant or Dark Drinker are better heavys than Ghallarhorn.
Not to mention that the raid weapons people have been able to get aren't great either since no one seems to use them.
I was ready for new stuff.

Must not have tried much new stuff then. There are plenty of guns out there that are at least on par if not better then their TTK counterparts.

Obviously you've got to get a decent roll but I definitely wouldn't say TTK gear is better then ROI gear.

Raid scout is awesome.

I can totally see a good group taking a single 340 up to the final boss but man that 340 is going to be getting one shotted by everything and probably not even able to damage anything lol... raid mechanic spoiler:
he could possibly be a designated Siva bomb tosser and boss stunner though?

I’ll be around tonight if anything starts forming; feel bad you had to drop due to connection issues, would be down for a fresh run on an alt tho. We ended up 5-manning Part 1, that was interesting yet fun.

Finally hit 365!

Still stuck with a 360 ghost though, they're so hard to come by.

365 and above is where the real pain begins. My advice is to focus on getting your artifact and ghost to the high 360's or even 370 if you are lucky. And the only real way to do that is to open up strike chests with skeleton keys and from vanguard, crucible and faction packages. The strike chests tend to drop blue artifacts higher than your light level at a higher frequency than ghosts, but the problem is that skeleton keys don't drop very often and every blue and legendary that drops from bosses in the strikes will be capped at 365. But the strikes are not a total loss if you don't get a key, as you do get faction rep, which will drive you to the next package.

I found ghosts harder to come by under either method. Faction packages seemed much more inclined to keep giving you class items over the ghost you really need.

no idea, he mentioned one group had a 340+ and he also played with three 340s and it was fine for them. they must have this shit locked down already. altho i guess a weaker player
tossing bosses def makes it easier than being DPS.

Last boss can be done with someone low also as long as everyone else has good damage/is in their 370s. Did it yesterday with someone dead on each dps phase and still had a phase to spare. For new/inexperienced groups though, everyone will want to be as high as possible.

It's really tough for some people to be very vocal and stay calm when they're the guy in the spotlight and that's been harder to get over than the light level from what I've seen so far.

I've been really lucky with Skeleton Keys. In the maybe 10 Heroics I've done over the last 2 nights I've gotten 3 keys, then another from the NF last night.

On the flip side I've been very unlucky with 3oC this expansion so far though.

Agreed... Communication is a bigger obstacle than varying light levels. Having someone who refuses to be vocal or can't remember to do call outs for empowerment is one of the most frustrating things I've experienced.

Was in a group of people from LFG the other day and one of them would start hyperventilating when he got empowered and his buddies had to keep telling him to calm down because he would get his directions backwards or he'd freak out on people for not rotating fast enough.

3 players (380+) with the cannons can do enough damage to the boss, the other 3 players can basically sit in a corner.

Yeah whatever, the scout and fusion are ridiculously great weapons that haven't left my hunter's loadout since acquiring them. The RL is fine but not Crucible-grade. Have the shotgun too but haven't played around with it yet

Can't believe how close this OT is to done.

Hey Ruthless, to get the Exotic Pulse quest, how much more time do you think it adds to a normal
Raid run? Getting the 5 monitors and opening the chest to start the quest -- not the entire chain from start to finish.

Considering we have video guides, maybe another 30 min? How much time should we expect to add for the 4th monitor puzzle? Thanks!

Maybe the scout is more rare since a lot of people can't seem to be the last boss. I'm hoping to try it out soon.
All I know is that I've gotten 3 unimpressive rocket launchers.

Ghosts and Artifacts havent dropped from a faction package for me since I got to level 365. In fact, the drop rate of class items from faction packages has decreased drastically as well.

I am 370 with a 364 ghost and 365 artifact. Eris Morn gave me a fucking class item when i ranked her up the other day. I have no Skeleton keys either.

This makes no sense whatsoever. Ghost and Artifacts should always drop with faction packages since they dont have their own engrams. I leveled up my factions like 5 times in two days and barely increased a level because i kept getting the same light level gear and was getting held back by my ghost and artifact. Bungie does this on purpose to gate progress which just pisses me off.

The raid has a checkpoint with a guaranteed ghost or artifact (seemingly a 50/50 chance).

C'mon son.

The auto rifle has been my main primary since last Friday. It's fantastic in PvE and PvP.
The scout hits like a truck.
The shotgun has decent range and packs a wallop- it's lovely in Supremacy.
The rocket launcher reloads blindingly fast and can reload with a larger mag.

The fusion rifle. My Lord. My favorite gun in the game currently.

Did I mention how amazing the auto rifle and fusion rifles are?

20 mins at best, maybe more if some people take time to figure out the sequence for the 4th monitor.

Just realized, this, the ghost and the boots are all I'm missing from Normal mode. O_O I've had monster luck with this raid compared to all others.

That perk does make perfect sense for supremacy. Great call, can't wait to try it.

Quick question about the prime quest.
Yesterday I got the Siva engine with our raid group but had to leave.

The next part states play with hunter and Titan. Do other people have to have Siva engines too? Or I can find any 2 to play with.

Try Dunemarchers + the raid shotgun. :)

And the fusion rifle... It hasn't left my secondary slot. I have one in solar and arc. Need a void. Melting enemies from range is just too good.

Yes to all this. And the shotgun with bonus agility, battle runner sprint speed bost and additional armor while in battle runner is insane! You're Sanic with a shotgun and kevlar on crack!

Edit:

Try Dunemarchers + the raid shotgun. :)
Mother of god i didn't even think about this!!! lol i need Dunemarchers for my titan like yesterday now!

It's probably just my preferences. I'm not an auto rifle guy, never have been. I also prefer a sniper over any other special weapon.
I guess I'm waiting for the sniper and handcannon.

Come on. I spent so long on the quest to get an iron artifact on my titan, I forgot that I already picked the same one up on my hunter. I dismantled it hoping to get the medallion back, but nope.
