Gears of War 4 NVIDIA Error Promo Keys From Amazon Mass Revoked

Its different only in technicality. Target error was also a glitch in their system that allowed people to buy it for 1/3rd the price, only difference is they're competent enough to fix it in couple of hours.

PSA - If you see someone selling FH3 code for $25 on ebay or reddit or whatever, don't touch it, it might get revoked.
target and competent do not belong in the same sentence, this is the second big messup this week they've had and the first one lasted a few days and lost them much more money than this did. (The Xbox one + game , cancel game and get over $100+ discount or get the $250 rockband bundle for free when it was supposed to be a $60 game only)

Oh boy, this is a mess.

Well, I'm still waiting on Bestbuy since they told me I will get a key when the game launches. I'm not the only person they told either. But, I don't really believe them, and expect to end up buying the game anyway.

Good way to piss off customers. When Fallout 4 had that pricing error they at least compensated with Microsoft bucks after they revoked

That was a pricing error on Microsoft end.

Also if you got scammed because you thought $10 codes for one of the biggest games of the year was legit, you should be mad at yourself before getting mad at Microsoft, NVIDIA or Amazon.

It's a very different situation. The FH3 codes were bought and paid for an agreed upon price from an authorized seller to a single customer. None of that applies to the GoW situation.

Bought my key from someone here in the Gaf FS/FT thread for $45. I get this when I click on it in the Windows 10 store:

PM'd him to see if I can get a refund, guess we'll see.

Edit: Seller got back to me immediately and said he would either get me a working key or refund me my money. Supposed to know something by tomorrow.

<3 the Gaf community, a lot of good people here.

Buying something that is priced incorrectly is not the same as exploiting a broken system and getting codes for free.

With Fallout 4, if MS set prices incorrectly and people bought the game, then imo its shitty for MS to revoke those licenses. They should own up to their mistake.

I just find it interesting that there seems to be no nuance to anything. It's either all or nothing. Every situation is different and we should be smart enough to understand that

I'd be down for buying the game if it wasn't so absurdly priced here. If I could get a physical xbox copy and that gave me a PC version I could stand to save 20 bucks easy

Hey, I bought on the 22nd and I didn't even get a key. Amazon has been removed from the Nvidia promo site. I want my free shit, thanks.
I got an email a couple of days after purchase. It was from Amazon and it is a Gigabyte card (costs $400+). Why would they cancel the promo for that? It makes no sense. I'm currently in line in Geforce live chat help.

Yeah, this is what comes up for me. What makes me confused is that it still shows "owned" in the store page, and on my list in my library.

I am directed to enter my code in the Geforce website. Some of you are showing the Windows store. Does it depend on the source for the promo code or what? I went to the Gears site and to the Windows store but they only options I get is to buy. The Amazon/Gigabyte code can't be entered in the Windows store.

You have to go through a portal on Nvidea's website and link your MS account.

Anyone got a refund from Gaf seller BorntoPlay? I sent him an email a while and hasn't responded yet. I don't want to go the paypal dispute yet, but I do want my money back.
Edit: He sent me a refund.

I'm on the same boat, got a key here at the start for 40 and now it says it has been removed from my library. I hope the seller doesn't back out of his resposabilities <,<

Just got this message from the ebay seller
"I'm very sorry about these issues you're having with your code. Can you cancel this dispute and then open another one? I will gladly refund you once you do that."

Is this a trick to get me to cancel my dispute

YES

I also just contacted him, doesn't sound good from what you are saying.

Wasn't really my post, I just called out things in BST for people a lot because of flak people were scared of getting, and that I was known for it. Was easier to PM me and say "btw x is totally off, look into it" than risk getting mobbed on.

He got back to me immediately and said he would have something for me tomorrow. Hopefully that's true.

Caveat emptor?

If it's too good to be true.
A lot of this stuff goes on without fixes. So a ton of people jump in, and then get burned when it is fixed. I suppose the days of every deal working is over.

BorntoPlay told me he's getting in touch with his supplier, and should have news tomorrow. He'll issue a refund if there's nothing else he can do to remedy the situation. I am not worried.

Welp, there we go, evidence.zip saved for 2017 :p
(I jest, I'd have to go dig through a ton of stuff, I'm way too lazy)

Does anyone know if sir_dany12 is reputable and will give me a refund? To be fair, he hasn't been online since I PMed, so I have no reason to think he won't get back to me yet, but it'll be comforting if someone has dealt with him before.

Mine was revoked as well, requested a refund on eBay. Ugh, although I'm kinda glad they did this after hearing about the Amazon glitch. The guy I bought from probably got his that way, I just had no idea at the time.

It was a 7$ key for a game not even out yet you had to realize they were most likely fraudulent. Don't play dumb

We did not know they were from an amazon error else no one would have sold them we would have just gotten our own and linked it in BST X_X
Don't call a thread idiots, seriously. That's moreso the annoying part.

oh man

if this falls through tell me so I can finally make a post from 2015.

I don't get your angle here trying to call out sellers on GAF? Weren't you the guy who bought multiple 7 dollar codes on reddit and tried to flip them on the B/S/T thread and then shit up the thread defending it for 3 pages?

Like, this code situation went down, and certain sellers who are in GOOD STANDING here on GAF have reached out and are trying to make good on the situation. What is this looming "OH JUST LET ME KNOW SO I CAN GET EM" shit?

I'm grateful for you posting the heads-up thread here but you seem to be reveling in this.

So I just got through nVidia's live chat and this is what they asked me to provide:
0. The purchase date.
1. The place of purchase (Name of the retailer) of the graphics card.
2. Picture of the original game code ( that 24 digit code you got with the purchase )
3. Picture of your purchase receipt/bill ( of the graphics card) or the screen-shot of the purchase email.
4. Copy-Paste that "24-digit game code" and the "Order Number" of the purchase ( just to avoid typo)
5. Your email ID used to redeem the game code.
6. Picture of the serial number (s/n) of the graphics card ( from the Box or the card itself )

Since my card is still in the mail, I'll wait till I get it to send them some of the pictures they asked. I hope this works.

Well PM'd on part since it's not really relevant to this thread at all, but

Nah, I'm the guy who bought 2 keys to sell to offset buying my ebay key, sold one on gaf (and bought 2 for friends at price because they were behind in line, I don't really consider being a middleman off of GAF as part of this at all), then refunded my ebay key because I thought it was legit only to find out all these keys we bought were from an error and told the seller that wasn't really right of him, then had to defend doing it because I posted that I did it like an ass.

Buying cheap keys from AMD/Nvidia promotions is kind of the norm. This is the first time I've ever had a problem doing it.

Yeah, I've gotten $12 keys from GAF people- GAF is awesome about it.
Not even error keys- I had one guy ask for a $16 game for a key, I saw it for $12 and asked if I could buy it for that, did a trade for another trade, got R6S/AC Syndicate for $12 at launch.

Love. GAF. Deals.

Honestly, at this point I'd rather get my money back and buy it from Amazon. He was selling it for $45 the moment I bought it and I really doubt it's not an Amazon key.

I can pay the $15 difference from the Microsoft Store.
Edit: he delivered and I got my refund. I'm happy with this turn of events.

Well, last time I do that. Did t know I was buying from a scammers. Oh well, I've lost more money for less. Really does suck for people though.

Never bought a key for under 10 bucks for a unreleased game. That should have thrown up a red flag right there. 25 bucks maybe but 7 nah.

Doesn't the fine print on these promo offers usually say something like "offer is not for sale/trade." I understand people do it all the time but that stuff always falls into buyer beware territory.

The good news is the game is already downloaded on my computer and Xbone, so after I rebuy it, I'll be all set.

Calculated risk. I used paypal. Seller already refunded.

Yeah, the key prices went from 40 to under 10 in one day. There was no way I was touching this, and I'm shocked people went through with buying even knowing something was probably up.

There was NO WAY all of those keys were legitimate.

I'm not getting it either. Before any of this went down, he had a bit of a PSA up about how he got a refund before the problem and was crowing about how he got a free game. He took a bit of flak for it and seems to be overcompensating to make up for it.

Not sure why he's trying to have anyone PM about anything. If you brought it on GAF, contact the seller and give him/her some time to reply, then do whatever you have to do if they ignore you. Some of you are bugging out prematurely.
