For real though, I really like most of these new mons except the mushroom. Pretty rad. Also, I really like the toucan and am so using it.

I must admit, now that we've seen all or most of the Alolan forms, I'm quite disappointed.
The initial reveals of the Vulpix, Sandshrew and Cubone lines were cool, and Alolan Muk is amazing. But the rest I don't really like. Especially Dugtrio, Exeggutor and Persian which just seem to be actively trying to be as bizarre and weird as possible.

I'm still incredibly disappointed by the abundance of single-stagers. They're simply not as fun to train in my opinion, and even though their designs are fantastic it makes me weep for the loss of potential.

We don't even know everything about the Alola forms so I don't get how you can say they are terrible in all aspects lol.

Yeah. I was down with them being these strange, alien like things that we just fought and acted as tough boss battles but being able to capture, nickname and use these abstract horrors just seems weird. Especially if they really are these various story important NPCs and not just things that look like them.

Happy with the new Geodudes, and the goofy Persian evolution.
Didn't expect Wimpbug to evolve into such a badass monster.
That spider thing's shiny form is a straight up Metroid.
Digging the fighting/dragon's pink-yellow shiny form too. Not that I'll ever get one of those.

Yeah single stage Pokemon are awful and they are only 6 Pokémons lines with three stages evolutions.

Alola forms are also a massive disappointement even more than the new Pokemons (which are really cool looking for the most part), most of the time they are just a color swap with two or three things changed. Raichu and Exeggcutor are the only one that seems like really interesting design-wise. Not to mention it's a gen 1 only feature

Wow Hala really looks like that UB now that I see them side by side. Especially since he has a crabrawler... Not sure about Gladion and Plumeria bht the others seem plausible tooI like this theory from /vp/

I wish we had more mons too but I'm not sure why you brought up gen 6 since that had only 71 new Pokemon.

Since they went so far in scrubbing moves, level up tables, locations, encounter tables etc why would they leave the Pokemon preview images in?
But maybe their strategy against leaks was to everything prior to launch in which case it would not have mattered.

We're getting another trailer on the 27th. We'll probably get at least 5 of them revealed in that.

That and Fire/Flying Oricorio's shiny immediately caught my attention. Just stunning choice of colors for those two.

Especially when sticking a strand of hair on a Digglett can be a new Form yet Cubone gets nothing. I understand it with Pikachu though, can't mess with that iconic mascot design unless you just stick hats on it or dress it up in suits that can be sold as plushies.

The only letdown for me is some of the single-stage Pokémon, yeah.
If I could evolve Komala, Comfey or Mimikyu, I'd have been extremely happy.
I think the time may have come to give up on this one, Eevee aside. It's plainly not something Game Freak wants to do any more- it's been over a decade since they last did it.

Pikachu made sense to me because he's iconic. People would gripe if vintage Pikachu wasn't in the game.
Cubone and Exeggcute not having Alolan forms while their evolutions do baffles me.
Fully evolved Marshadow or a mythical maybe?
