TBH I'm in the camp that we'll get some type of NX news on Friday.

Don't be upset at anybody yet- rather, think about how this information actually originates.
People at Nintendo are deciding when to reveal this thing. The exact timing of the reveal is likely still not nailed down (unless it's in 15 minutes but I doubt that). Emily (and others) are trying to give us some kind of time frame to work with when the exact reveal timing likely doesn't exist at the moment.
If this is the case then she should frame it that way, but it's still the best of intentions of both her and her sources.

Also, the credibility of people like Emily is something that always sorts itself out in the end. It doesn't need this unwarranted negativity. Time will tell how right or wrong she is.

Eh, I wouldn't go that far. Hard to believe they haven't nailed down a reveal date if it's coming in the next week or two or three, and NateDrake seems pretty certain that they have.
The announcement of the reveal date, now that might actually be in a bit of flux.
Emily has been right and wrong about some things, but most people with rumors are, since things always change, even at the 11th hour.
What gets me is that Emily has nothing to gain from doing any of this. She doesn't have any ads on her blog, her Twitter aside from this week has been made private so it's not to gain followers, so she's doing it because she wants to. She hasn't come across as someone who clearly wants to troll or say wrong shit on purpose.

Actually that is what I meant, my apologies. I meant initial reveal, as in likely the console name and the date of the full reveal.
It is when you are saying they are wrong without pointing to any evidence to back yourself up.

People seem to have forgotten that we were expecting NX to happen in September according to Eurogamer's "currently slated for September" NX reveal yet I saw nobody going nuts over this like I've seen in the last 20 pages.
Emily Rogers couldn't specify a day and so the announcement of the reveal could be happening this week or next week or not at all. This was something we were supposed to speculate.
By Friday, we could just be hearing NoA tweet that it is the 5th anniversary of Nintendo Direct and still no mention about NX.
It's funny that even with NateDrake and the NWR guy weighing in that something is happening and that because it hasn't happened yet. Emily Rogers has pretty much become a scapegoat now for everyone's frustration in waiting for NX because of something people were probably expecting to happen by the time the financial briefing would occur if we looked at all the past NX speculation threads at the beginning of the month.

Right, but we wouldn't be doing a countdown every hour (10 minutes left!) if she didn't say there would be news this week, something that she doubled down on a few hours ago. The negativity is completely warranted (especially now that she's saying she might not be completely sure), outside of a few people going too over the top. But that post I originally quoted certainly wasn't over the top.

Naive? I really just don't understand some of the attempted logic here. When people like you say bet against Emily Rogers, you'd think you have some long-standing bet on what the NX will be. My family isn't going to die if the NX isn't exactly what Emily Rogers says it is. I don't have any gambling bets placed on whether or not Emily's information will be real either.
FFS, she's just trying to give us some information when Nintendo has chosen to be extremely quiet. Whether you believe it or not, or whether it's even true, it at least brings Nintendo fans together to talk about something.
