Upcoming Vita Games (200+ Upcoming games in ENGLISH) || 2016 Edition ||

Sure. Or they could just announce they've formed a partnership with Aksys to bring Tokyo Xanadu on Twitter and then that'll be at MCM. Or something similar.

I dunno, could be either.

If that's the case they should've either announced it immediately or waited until they could. Posting a teaser image is baffling. But, it's NISA so...

Not to Europe.

That I know, but why tease that and not wait until you can properly announce it?

Was AB playable at AkibaFest? If it wasn't, I don't see it being playable at MCM either.

Really don't see the problem with teasing a EU publishing deal. A release is a release and not everyone imports games.

A TX or AB EU announcement would be awesome.

A TX or AB announcement would be great, but a TX or AB tease really isn't. Most people would expect a new localization. Don't really see the need for teasing a game they're only publishing and not stating so.

Clarification would be nice, but it's 50-50 whether we'd get a reply.

I'd love a TX European physical launch and I'd get my copy on day-one.

That doesn't seem too unlikely, since Aksys has recently hinted at future physical releases for their games in EU.

Thank you for the kind words :). Can't believe I started my writing work on 3WIREL only a few months ago......been a fun ride so far and the train will keep on running :D!

I think you got confused with my long article covering the entire sub-series of Sonic Boom. Asked SEGA for a review copy of Fire & Ice and I wasn't able to get one :(. Will be picking up the game at a later point but I honestly think it should be a solid game.

Friends of mine on Twitter & Gaf state that the game is either a solid title with some issues or a big improvement over the original Shattered Crystal. My friend Hero of Legend wrote a great review on the game, so recommend you check that out :D.

And I'm happy you enjoy posting in this thread! The Vita has a bit of a troubled history on Gaf on the gaming side but this & the PSN thread are the system's homes on this forum. You have been doing a great job running this thread and really enjoyed the update!

I'm am going to be cursing a bit, so sorry for the language. It is a fucking joke everything surrounding Next Order. If Bandai-Namco want's to stop supporting the Vita, then be fucking honest about it. Sony was, so why can't Bandai-Namco? You can't say things like 'Small oversea's audience' when you continue to sell us games. Either you support the damn console or not. Sorry for being bitter but it angers me a bit is all :(.

You are most welcome bud, happy for you and keep it up!

Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice at least looks better than the other Sonic Boom games on the WiiU and 3DS so that's promising.

Thank you very much for the kind words about the thread, it is a pleasure for me to contribute to such a lively thread full of peaceful and passionate gamers like yourself!

No need to be sorry - Bandai Namco severely dropped the ball there after the amount of success they found with Cyber Sleuth on the Vita :/ I'm sure many Vita fans would not have complained if they had an inferior version to the PS4 version in English. Sad state of affairs :/

On a lighter note, I hope you enjoy the new update :D

Another awesome update, I can't wait to get several of those games. Is Exile's End a digital only game in all regions? Or is it getting a physical release anywhere?

Thank you so much bud, enjoy the new one :D

Few adjustments to the OP btw Fady:

- Tachyon Project has released. At least in EU haha.
- Looney Tunes Galactic Sports has released in EU too.
- Jazz: Trump's Journey is out in EU.
- High Tech Racing+ is out in EU.
- Super Night Riders for Vita is cancelled. Light Fairytale too.
- Elliot Quest is cancelled.
- Ronin is cancelled.
- Four Sided Fantasy is cancelled.
- Pier Solar is cancelled.
- Moon Hunters is cancelled.
- Nom Nom Galaxy cancelled.
- Energy Hook cancelled.
- Hyper Light Drifter cancelled (although there is a tiny bit of hope)
- Kodoku is cancelled.
- Midora is on indefinite hold.

In slightly better news, I don't think you've listed Defenders Quest DX, which was confirmed in this article (and in a previous tweet). Also Siralim 2 is coming to Vita, also not mentioned.

Finally, my favourite discovered that I stumbled across while looking at a Unity site: Suki & The Shadow Klaw is coming to Vita next year, cute looking 3D platformer.

You LEGEND, thank you for this FANTASTIC contribution. Clean up mode has been implemented :)

Sad to see all those cancelations though - especially Hyper Light Drifter and Kodoku :(! Added the others too - THANKS a lot bro :D

In a bid to take away the sting of all the cancellations in my previous post, here's some further games which have been announced and I haven't spotted in the OP:

Lichtspeer

Skyhill

Soullings
(I would be shocked if this one makes it though)

Touhou Double Focus

Vostok Inc.

Wheels of Auerlia

And here's two where maybe don't get your hopes up yet since they seem contingent on Kickstarter campaigns, but they're definitely things to mention:

Cyberthreat

Rogue Raiders Online

Here I thought i had to only deal with Kresnik's cancelation updates - THANKS again :D!! All have been added :) I didn't mention the kickstarter ones in case. But I have added the below:

Sorry for all the posts lately, I like Vita news!

Famitsu scores:

Berserk and the Band of the Hawk (PS Vita) – 9/9/9/8 [35/40]
My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU TOO! Game (PS Vita) – 8/7/7/8 [30/40]
Neo Atlas 1469 (PS Vita) – 8/8/10/7 [33/40]
Saka Agari Hurricane Portable (PS Vita) – 7/7/7/6 [27/40]
Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization (PS Vita) – 9/8/7/8 [32/40]
World of Final Fantasy (PS Vita) – 9/9/9/9 [36/40]

Side note, seems they really didn't like Crows:

Crows: Burning Edge (PS4) – 7/6/7/6 [26/40]

Maybe that's why Vita got cancelled, they realised it wasn't a great game and wasn't worth optimising, lol.

Berserk looking fine - especially nice to see World of Final Fantasy score so high! Crows looked off from day one, not surprised by that score.

VitaGAF, is it time for me to give up on ports of Borderlands and Minecraft Story Mode?

I'd kinda given up on them, then in February they gave a glimmer of hope on the matter. And now it's October and nothing since.

(As you can tell, I'm having a slow day in work today).

Wish Telltale games wouldn't take forever (if ever that is) with their Vita ports *_*

I really enjoyed the new update man and I can't believe you quoited my Neptune vs. SEGA Hard Girls review in the update! Thanks man! I really enjoyed my time with that one, so hope you guys consider giving the game as shot. Keep up the great work and I hope more great vita announcement's happen.

Bandai-Namco just pissed me off honestly and I feel really annoyed with how they dealt with Digimon post-announcement. Screams 'we don't give two ****'s about the Vita audience' and that disapontements me after past successes (and continue to have with SAO coming out next month) on Vita.

As for Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunters, the game released in NA a few weeks ago and I published my review on that a while back too.....but I didn't enjoy it as much as I was hoping :(.

Yeah...TTGH was kind of awful, and I doubted some special edition could fix up its various problems.

It wasn't even that the game was bad or anything, it is that the core gameplay of it was really lacking and just overall kinda confusing.

It takes time. Once you learn how to corner ghosts and exploit your attacks, it's easy to break, and even fun. The story makes up for the gameplay flaws, IMO.

I heard the new version improves on the gameplay even more, I only played the original(PS3).

I had a tough time getting used to the gameplay and personally didn't enjoy it much. I did get used to it and felt it worked, but the main things that carried the game for me is the strong story, great presentation and interesting concept.

I wasn't sure if I should revive the 2-year-old OT for this game, so I'll post this here.

Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds got a 99MB patch that seems to be paving the way for some more DLC.

qobcw3B.jpg

Interestingly, they changed the game's bubble icon with the patch, too. (I didn't know that was even possible!)

As for whether they're backporting gameplay modes from the Overdrive version or adding new characters (like Frau from Robotics;Notes that they teased forever ago), I have no idea.

That is some great news :D! Happy that the game is still getting support. I'm with Shizuka in thinking that the game got picked up for Limited Run Games release.

In the next week or so we'll have a bunch of Aksys news and updates, a NISA announcement and the Steins;Gate 0 release date. Good times.

It really doesn't, I got used to it after an hour or so but found it to be an overly frustrating entry in the tactics genre, in no small part thanks to the unnecessary turn limits and irritating manner in which AP is handled, and relatively unfocused plot with one of the worst gay stereotypes i've seen in any game. Whatever else can be said for how the game looks, the gameplay is about as smooth as rusty nails in chocolate pudding.

The Vita keeps on offering some great news and content :D!

And to top it all off, the Kickstarter for Rogue Raiders Online will likely be going up next week too!

And I think Idol Death Game TV could have a chance of localization + PC port. D3 seems to do that lately

I'd hope so, but they haven't done that for either Bullet Girls or Natsuiro High School.

Those games are more risky though
and garbage

I hope Idol Death game is at least decent. They definitely need some localization partner in the west though and I can see why no one wanted Bullet Girls or Natsuiro.

Isn't Idol Death by that company who did Irregular at Magic High school game? Which I enjoyed, but it was clunky as hell. I wouldn't hold out much hope of it being much more than the usual D3 junk (which I secretly enjoy, but still).

A new press release and trailer for Root Letter released and I got this from P-Qube Games via email. Article Link: http://3wirel.lostsig.com/2016/10/20/root-letter-creators-voice-trailer/

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WI1Y08_vCNg

Root Letter follows an investigation into the disappearance of a young girl 15 years in the past. Armed only with a collection of letters from high school – the player must interrogate old school-friends, now adults, about the events of the past.

Working closely with Shimane Prefecture, Kadokawa Games have strived to create a sense of place like no other visual novel before it. Accurately reflecting the real-word town of Matsue in which it is set, Root Letter allows players to experience a hitherto un-seen side of Japanese life and culture in a videogame. A romantic rural setting. A close knit small town. A quiet suburban corner of Japan. Far away from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo, Root Letter brings a very different kind of atmosphere for Japanese game fans – and one that’s been masterfully created in painstaking detail.

About Akiba's Beat, just putting this here:

It's also listed in the websites of two game wholesalers (one of them being the one who listed Chaos;Child earlier this week)
Oh wow, thanks for this! No idea how to missed that. I guess it's a PQube title then, sweet

These Badland leaks have almost always been true so far.

Not really, it could be NISA too: Badland also distributes NISA's games, for example both Banned Games and Psycho-Pass were distributed by Badland here

Oh? That's news to me. Good to know, still think it's probably true :)

I also wouldn't be surprised if it's Marvelous with Pqube as a distributor. Whoever it is, I'll take it

Hey guys, I found this pretty cool. Rogue Raiders Online should be hitting Kickstarter this Monday if all goes well (and I'm making a super-awesome thread for the launch to help the game get as much exposure as possible), but the developer shared a look at the soundtrack she's been working on for it:

https://soundcloud.com/saffroncr

It's actually pretty impressive stuff imo. Very retro-sounding but I've enjoyed it a lot. No matter what happens with the Kickstarter, this lady is talented.

Ryuzaki is a sometimes hyperbolic Sonymegafan, but I do often trust his opinion on things. He's bought the Vita version of SAO:HR and that was his first impression. Uh oh.
Having bought all the other localized SAO games (even made the OT for 2 of them), that sounds disappointing.

I wasn't very hyped for this game anyways though. Leave Aincrad alone already.
Or Kirito and crew in general.

Of course Bamco is fucking stuff up again with the Vita :l. As long as the game runs similar to Hallow Fragment or Lost Song, I won't mind. But after the Digimon 'typo' I have a very sour view on Bandai-Namco honestly :(.

Sadly, the gay stereotype is par for the Japan course. Dancing All Night has an equally bad one, so I just kind of roll with it nowadays. The rest, and the fantastic modern occult vibe(the best thing ever), makes up for it.

Is there a list of vita games that got physical and/or multiplatform releases? I'm kinda debating rebuying some of my digital games to physical for preservation and because the collector in me is starting to kick in wanting some of the games physical.

If i'm buried under a mountain of vita games then so be it. I accept the consequences of my actions.
I'm limiting myself to physical releases that aren't LRG/LE exclusives or imports and if it's a multiplatform game that got a physical release for other systems i'll get that instead.

That's still a surprising amount of games, don't underestimate the power of the Vita.
