Interview with Nintendo Switch reveal actor: GameXplain

I love when they do post review discussions (or in general) with guests who bring insight into the topic. Their podcast is nice and mini series like Missing in Action are great. And you know what i even sit through their reviews because ive gotten used to Andre's inflection.

But the constant influx of this type of bare bones content is exactly why i cant sub to them. I have to periodically check their channel or have a friend tell me when a new video is out.

Bare bones? They spent 3 months working on one video

Edit: Damn you new page

OP, you should add that there "a handful of things" the actor knows about (the controller) that haven't been revealed yet. (At 35:00)

You don't make a very good case for yourself. You now have consecutive shitposts in two threads about the Switch.

The bigger problem is these shitposts completely derail the thread topic, with this one being a prime example. It needs to stop.

Ok its cool and all that this dude unknowingly got cast into a commercial for an unreleased Nintendo system but GameXplain is really reaching to make content these days.

The over abundance of coverage for every little NX rumor and tons of analysis now about the Switch trailer is killing my interest in their content.

I thought this video was great. It is LITERALLY the first hands on impressions we have gotten on the Switch. How is that reaching for content?

I mean I get what you all are saying about some of their content being somewhat needless (i.e. slowdown of gameplay footage or slideshow of screenshots) but they are a news site. What gaming news site is 100% quality 100% of the time?

I am not a nintendo hater or anything. But Switch isnt that great as people make it to be. Maybe it has other secret features, but for now it doesnt look like anything special. I might be wrong.. I want to be wrong.

Still, this thread is worth 0.

So you're complaining about the thread existence? Not a wise thing to do.

And this is relevant and intereresting because...?

This is quite literally the only hands-on preview we are likely to get until the start of next year, It also shows off some insight on how a commercial for a top secret product such as the NS goes into production.

A few interesting bits:
... Banjo https://www.twitch.tv/dickhiskhan
Damn he even plays the original one...

Umm.......Which "Banjo" is this referring to? Banjo Kazooie or the instrument? Banjo Kazooie's not even Nintendo related anymore.
Emotionally it doesnt matter at all, N64 is my favourite console and Banjo one of my favourite games and I'd expect it's the same for many nintendo fans that were around at that time.

I'm personally pretty fascinated at how the name didn't leak after filming this thing with a bunch of actors back in September.

As well as for hands on impressions of the Switch ergonomics.

I wouldn't have believed this before seeing it, that with all the expectative around NX the Switch name was not leaked at all. Big surprise.

Maybe it doesn't matter emotionally, but technically speaking, Banjo's not associated with Nintendo anymore. :p

This interview was 10000 times more interesting than the standard "what game journalist B thought about the commercial"

"I don't care about the Switch thus GAF should not either"

You for real dude? I mean maybe you are new here but collecting information about and discussing upcoming console platforms are the bread and butter of NeoGAF, and just because you don't find it any interesting, it doesn't mean that everybody else shouldn't care about it either.

Unless you truly think fighting for your impression about this thread being worthless truly is debating, which I tell you it is not. If you don't care about Switch speculation, don't reply to threads that do. You are wasting your own time, and everybody else's too.

I don't get the isometric comment.

And also I'm happy he liked the Pro Controller because I was really worried.

The joycon unit looks terrible to play with and the Pro Controller looked like a really crappy 3rd party controller. I was really worried about my play options.

It still looks ugly to me, but it feels good I won't mind.

I hope Nintendo releases a joy-con for the right hand with the stick at the top. I much prefer the symmetrical sticks of the Wii U gamepad as well. One of the few things they really got right with the Wii U.

Only reason I can see for regressing to asymmetrical sticks is for when the joy-cons are split between two people.

I can't wait for their 2 hour analysis of their 36 min interview.

This seems to be an ongoing joke/critizism here, but I love their crazy in-depth analyses of trailers. All the interesting little details they find, awesome.

I guess he meant asymmetric, and that he got used to the gamepad and wii u pro controller which had the analog sticks at the same level. That said I'm sure the joycons will feel fine and I sort of like how they went with a sort of translucent plastic for the pro controller.

Now give us color options.

Me too. They always manage to catch stuff I missed. They are also often spot on with their speculation. Good shit.

I like Andre's voice as well. I'm always slightly disappointed when a video is narrated by someone else.

I imagine the pay is at least enough to live off on rent for a while.

😂😂😂

Why is it that people think that showing your face on TV for a few seconds earns you big money?

Most actors do commercials in the beginning of their career to get a foot in the door and their face on the screen.
But you would have to be REALLY lucky to pay your rent for a while off of one one commercial.

Edit:
Just look at the salaries they get for group acting, like in NS one.

Don't post if you think this thread is worth 0. You're just wasting your and everyone's time in here.

On topic: it's quite amazing that with so many actors involved Nintendo still managed to get the lid shut pretty tight.

Yeah that and the fact the game footage wasn't on the console. Hopefully means an actual Mario Kart 9 and not a remake. Also the controller impressions are interesting, need to hear more from others.

The biggest tidbit to come from the interview was actually right at the end. Andre's final question was"Is there other stuff you know about the controller that we don't know about ourselves?".

His answer: There are a handful of things he knows that he'd love to get off his chest.

Also his answers about holding the controller were interesting.
