No God of War at PSX 2016

It's a good thing. We got a big chunk at E3 that successfully got me super curious. It was just enough. Now they need to go dark until the release is close. Hopefully they show a bit more next E3, and announce a release date for Holiday 2017.

This is coming out in 2018, most likely, isn't it?

The writing was on the wall the moment we all saw this.

Nor surprising. Sony has said for the last two years that PSX is not E3 and we should not expect too many major reveals or AAA showcase at the conference. Yet people continuously hype themselves up and go in with the wrong expectations.

The biggest thing you'll probably see from 1st party at PSX this year is UC4 single-player DLC. I wouldn't expect much more than that. The rest of the conference will probably be indies, VR games, and Japanese titles.

It wouldnt be a Sony first party game if it wasnt announced way too soon, spends at least 1 year without any new information and at least a 3 month delay after they finally announce a release date

I'm sure it'll be announced for Holiday 2017 and then quickly delayed to Q1 2018 as is standard.

This is God of War, it's coming out March 2018.
It's always March for the main games

God of War - March 22, 20005
God of War II - March 13, 2007
God of War III - March 16, 2010
God of War: Ascension - March 12, 2013

Gotta make room for that Red Dead Redemption 2 gameplay reveal..

I am disappointed though, never played a God of War but I really like the direction the new game seems to be going in.

Good, let them take their time with it. I wonder if they're going to build the game around the pro instead of the slim. Shame if all 2018 releases run like shit on regular PS4s

Boo!

Probably. Unless Sony wants to release it in Fall 2017 and compete with Scorpio and Red Dead. I bet GT Sport is their big holiday 2017 game though.

RDR2 isn't releasing next fall. Come to terms with that now and you won't be quite so disappointed by the first delay.

Why can't PSX be E3?

It's a day Sony has all to themselves, especially since Sony is no longer at Gamescom or PGW.

Dreams has gotta be close too. They've been working on it since LBP2. And Gravity Rush 2 is also 2017.

Oh that's right, I always forget about that game. We've been hearing about it forever so hopefully it's coming soon.Good point on GR2 as well.

If, say, Spiderman, Dreams, and Detroit come out in '17 then that's six first-party games throughout the year. That doesn't sound bad to me. I mean this year there were 3-4-ish? (? maybe I'm forgetting something).

I wanna say summer sounds good for Spiderman, either summer or late spring for Dreams, and then holiday for Detroit and Gran Turismo.
