DLC isn't showing up here still, although i'm seeing posts on Reddit mentioning that it's included... anyone able to verify?

I do have EA Access. But how are these downloading without the disc?

The disc is just the license proving you own the game. If it's on EA Access, then your subscription is your license.

It's just not on the store

This is fantastic news. Well done, EA.

For those that don't have EA Access, perhaps this means a full-on digital release is coming sooner rather than later to the Xbox store.

Is it (free) on ea access too? Happens to appear on my ready to install list. But I don't remember buying it.
Edit: ah, well, too late

Where are we on getting these never-digital multi-disc games up for purchase, Phil...? I have money I want to throw at you.

Neither were available as digital downloads for the 360.

ME2 and ME3 in my ready to install list as well...also have EA access.

This EA Access stuff is baffling. Why can you download them digitally through EA Access but not through the Xbox Marketplace? This makes zero sense. Now I'm admittedly out of my depth here but could this be an API thing?

slightly OT, you guys think they will ever get suspend/resume working for BC titles? that would really be awesome

I doubt that. The EA Access version only works on the XBox One.

To get a digital version it would have to be able to be used on a 360.

Which means, EA/Bioware would have to spend resources (people/time/money) to do the development/testing to package to remove/fix the code that deals with multiple disks.

and I don't see that happening.

there's no technical reason for the lack of multi-disc games on the store, especially because you have to download them even with the disc. for most games the obstacles have to do with licensing or whatever. for EA and mass effect I have to wonder if they instead want to try and push people towards EA Access (which just worked on me ya bastards)

Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3 are now both able to be played on Xbox One. Since the games were multidisc, there is no digital option on Xbox One. According to Reddit, Mass Effect 2 is 13.2GB and Mass Effect 3 is 15.6GB. https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/store/search/games?q=Mass+effect&devicetype=xbox

If you have EA Access, Mass Effect 1,2,and 3 have been added to the vault so there is now a digital option for Mass Effect 2/3.

oh fuck me......I don't have time for this lol

The Backwards compatibility wrapper simulates a disk change to the applications.

ie.. The Mass Effect game thinks the disk got changed, but behind the scenes the wrapper just mounted a different file to use.

Never played M1, 2 and 3 which is one of my great regrets from last gen. The heavy rpg elements of m1 stopped me in my tracks so i finally get my chance to play through it all.

Worth getting through the first one. It's a bit obtuse at the beginning but the story is pretty great and you'll get attached to some of the characters, and a lot of them will return for the second and third game depending on your choices. You're in for a treat!

So is there no way of buying a straight digital version on the Xbox store? That makes zero sense considering popping the disk in downloads the digital version to the hard drive anyway.

Just signed up for EA Access lol. Never bothered with that shit, but I've been wanting to play Mass Effect for awhile, this is a great outlet to do it.

Plus I'm a little surprised at the vault collection. Got some decent games in there.

Because EA Access is your license that's all it needs to check for.

Since you can't buy it digital yet, you can't play it digitally because you don't actually have a license. Why isn't it for sale yet? I have to assume they're running into issues getting it up and running on an actual xbox 360. Remember the emulator is removing the need for multiple discs, I'm guessing they will push out an update to the xbox 360 OS to handle it the same way the emulator does before they put the games up for sale.

I guess technically they should be able to put it up for XB1 only but then they might run into licensing issues (having 2 licenses for the same game) when they do eventually make it available on the 360 - which they will so it can go on GWG etc.

(Note that I'm just guessing and have no idea why it's not, but it makes a little sense to me, at least)

Are the servers for ME3 multiplayer still up?

That shit was more fun than it had any right to be, I'll buy it right now if they are.

wtf i went to gamestop on lunch to get these in the event that they would raise the price only to find they are on ea access.

In the vault too?? Perfect since I can't find my ME2 disc

Also for any new EA Access peeps, PopCaps 360 catalog was added last month, Mirrors Edge Catalyst is out Wednesday, and UFC 2 out Thursday. Oh ya, Battlefront in December too!

Perfect time to jump in

I don't think EAA generally does this. It's a nice way of generating a bit more cash, probably.

Well there you are.

Yep, I wouldn't be surprised if the reason why there isn't a remaster is because EA make far more money off of selling the DLC than they could a remaster.

It cost me £60 in 2013, which back then was around $90 converted, to buy all the ME2 and ME3 DLC. It's a gravey train for EA lol

I thought there was a thing where DLC wasn't supported on BC games. Has that been changed? And is there a Trilogy/Game of the Year edition that includes DLC?

How are y'all getting Mirrors Edge? For me it asks if I want to do a trial or buy the game
