Watching the video, watching Trump move, act, and emote...

... The man is not happy with where he ended up. And a 15 minute meeting turned 90 minutes seems to have scarred him.

Imagine Trump's tenure as a ridiculously awful feel-good movie.
"This is the story of the vicious corporate jerkoff who suddenly becomes the president of the USA. With no political experience or intelligence, he's at the mercy of his cabinet and Russia. Over time he realizes the error of his ways and makes America great again."

I think I'm going to be sick.

Trump called Obama a "very fine man" (source: NPR). And in his victory speech, he said that we owe Hillary "a major debt of gratitude for her service to our country".

Fingers crossed that these aren't empty platitudes, though the announced appointments certainly make it seem that way.

I really hope Trump is being sincere and a bunch of the hot air he was spewing was stuff to get elected. I really hope so.

If this isn't the greatest new Netflix series to hit America...

God, I hope not...wishing for him to fail is like wishing the captain of your plane crashes and burns. We're all in this together now.

Frankly, many of us are tired of this "Come together in unity" only when its the other side in power. We have begged and pleaded to just respect us as human and they refuse so fuck them this time and and for the foreseeable future.

Lol@ Bush being a better person than Trump.

Bush destroyed Iraq,an actual nation, hundreds of thousands died in the wake of his decisions.

Its ok to hate Trump ,but its beyond ridiculous to assert that Bush is somehow a better man.

Last I heard,Trump is not a war criminal.

Give him a chance, he's only president-elect right now.

I understand what he's trying to do. A lot of people are angry now, and rightly so, and Obama seems a very likable person, so he's trying to keep people calm. It's good that he's trying but it isn't going to work.

He once said Hillary would be a great Secretary of State.

Trump believes in everything at once.

The people I am racist against, love me!

If Trump puts the kind of people in his cabinet that we think he will, there's no coming back from that.

You should look at Ivanka, the man loves his daughter and she's going to be his defacto First Lady over Melania. Some of the names on the lists leaked so far would put his daughter's views in jeopardy.

As far as people go, there is no man living or dead who is more inspirational than Obama. You can just tell he loves the people way too much. I can't say this about many, but he is an A++ individual. Hopefully people can learn from him.

I truly believe (hope?) that the vast majority of Trump's rhetoric during the election was just to shoe-horn votes, but that at the end of the day, he is still at least socially liberal if fiscally conservative. I know who he picked as his VP, but I feel even throwing Pence on the ticket was just to get votes from Christians, not because Trump gives a single moment of care about what Pence wants.

Again, though, this is just my hope. I still don't like the guy, but am just trying to look for some shred of optimism in this whole mess.

Of course, if Trump kicks the bucket while in office, Pence will just screw up everything.

Obama is a nice guy who ultimately wants the best for America and using such a bland word as 'encouraged' will do the job. Trump could have said 'well I'm gonna build the wall a little less high' and you could say that was a positive step.

Look at Theresa May's stupid bland English polite reaction to Trump. She can't handle a the interview the shakey old goat - and as expected, avoids saying anything despite the direct line of enquiry. They're all unprincipled snakes. Politeness strangulates people.

That picture of them shaking hands has a lot of little details that say a lot. Trump looks hunched over, he isn't looking Obama in the eyes. Obama on the other hand is sitting up straight and staring him directly in the face.

She's got businesses to run. She won't be involved here.

Sorry, but do you mean a failure in the standpoint he does not get anything done or a failure that he does get shit done and it hurts everyone?

A failure in that he can never deliver on any of his promises. But knowing his flock, they will just blame it on Obama, Muslims, and Hillary's emails somehow and never accept they were conned.

I sure as hell do.

That's what I think a lot of people on the winning side don't quite understand. If this were a president Romney, or McCain, or even Bush, I might not agree with their policies but at least, in a broad sense, I would trust them to lead the country. Trump just scares me.
Shit is crazy I swear. I think back on Bush and think "How quint."

He was the at least the type of Republican that had some sort of moral fiber and I wasn't disgusted to have as president. I may not have liked him but at the very least I didn't fear him like I do Trump.

Trump position on global wanting alone will result in more death, war and devastation than anything Bush has ever done.
He's also increasing military spending even more to boot, so you can fucking bet he will become a war criminal really quickly.

Listen, I hate it when people bring up South Park in relation to real life.

But every image of Trump really does remind of Mr. Garrison right now.

Every image seems to scream "Whoops, did I actually win?"

Obama is a class act and will try his hardest to stand for that.

I really don't think Trump is all that thrilled that he won. Actually, he's probably thrilled that he won, as it's boosting his ego, but not that he actually has a job to do now. It's no longer a game or a tv show. I'd be surprised if he lasts 4 years.

I just heard Trump talk about the meeting and... I dunno. He sounded like Obama showed him some shit. And now he's like "well, I did not know that".

Part of me, while in repulsed by Trump, is fascinated to see what a person who's never held office EVER, does with a responsibility of being president.

And then I snap back to reality and say to myself that this isn't an experiment that should be happening. I'm so afraid with this guy at the top. This is not the time to watch him stumble through this and he's going to be advised by some of the worst republicans that have held office. I'm worried.

Agreed.

Trump has already pledged to war crimes

The body language is fascinating.

Yes, it really is. The way Obama shifts his whole body in order to get a good grip on the handshake shows him in a much higher position of power and at the same time friendliness/respect to his opponent. Trump is lazily extending his hand and his facial expression almost shows that he feels he's not sure what he just put himself into. He will soon be the most powerful man in the free world and I'm quite sure that he doesn't feel ready at all

Yeah, Trump's body language since winning has been kind of surprising.
