I found a vagina in Watch Dogs 2 and Sony suspended me (Update: Ban lifted)

The game is approved for playstation that doesn't mean it's twitter approved, it could very well be Sony nipping any potential complaints/lawsuits from twitter, not too different to why youtube deals with copyrights on their platform.

Twitter allows full blown pornography. You just can't have porn as your banner image or profile pic.

Aren't Crotchless Panties recommend for the Ho on the Go?

It's just a method used by the prostitute to increase her efficiency, I'm not seeing the problem here.

approved for the game don't mean it's approved for streaming or video services/sites lol

The streets of SF are full of hoods and murderers, yet Sony are flapping about a vagina leak? Not sure how I feel about them fingering the poor OP as the fall guy just because of his loose lips. Time's are tight for us all, Sony; but I don't think this a hole you want to fall into; it could end up exploding in your face.

I believe it would have been different if whoever censored this game would have known that you could murder a woman and then stare at her vagina without the presence of the crotch part of the modern panty.
You know it's going to be a good day when you read stuff like this an hour after waking up.

Do you guys think they were right to suspend me for sharing content they've allowed on their platform?

I mean, they have the *right* to, but no, they shouldn't be punishing you for sharing content seeing as they have a fucking SHARE button for that very reason.

Also how the hell did someone not notice that?

They shouldnt but these are consoles we are talking about.. what you pay for being part of their walled garden.

Funny thing is when the game is out to everyone we will be seeing tons of penises and vaginas. I wonder what Sony will do then lol..

I wont be surprised if they add some black bars to the share button lol.

If they don't want people sharing pictures of it then they should bring it up with Ubisoft to remove it not ban users.

This makes me uncomfortable. Not because I'm a prude, but because these games are murder/mayhem simulators if you want them to be. I don't see the added value to consumers for kids to be able to poke bazookas and baseball-bats to realistically modeled dead hooker vaginas.

Online activity in live from PlayStation . Says nothing about your pic on twitter . You did something dumb on the live app perhaps on that day ? Did you go on the app and maybe stream the discovery ?

Um, how are they going to president some day if we don't teach them to grab em by the pussy

Won't someone think of the children! Killing 586367 humans in the game will have no effect but a sd vagina will traumatize them for life im sure.

Is Netflix responsible if you screengrab the naughty bits or dingly-dangly of Wild Things and tweet it? Is the DVD player manufacturer responsible?

I mean, I get it, these are consoles and so some things are different just because, and also anybody can complain or even sue over anything, but Sony is two steps removed from the content here: Ubisoft produced it, and Twitter hosted the image of it. Apparently the OP could have taken more caution with his Twitter post (but @ThePs4Share is not official an PlayStation Twitter ID, right, and you can't own a hashtag, so I got lost, where did Sony get involved in this?), and certainly could have used more discretion if being banned a week is not worth the LOLs and WTFs. I'm not entirely surprised that Sony hit him with a strike. But I'm also not sure how it's their fault or problem or even how any angry parent would know (aside from the hashtag, which would be odd to bring to court) that this was played on a PlayStation console to put them at fault?

Copyright strikes, BTW, are a different thing. There are actual laws involved.

See I never said that these games are good for kids at all. This is just taking things further. Do you guys want them to add rape animations/actions next to these games because why not, we already have killing?

Why not add babies to the same update.

What was Ubisoft thinking by doing that?

This; It's hypocritical. Sex, etc. is taboo on video games, yet violence is fine.

Heck, I called it out on some other threads earlier:

The idea that we're now at a point where a console manufacturer is issuing suspensions for sharing objectionable content from a game on their platform, which they approved to be there, should be pretty scary to us. Yet another notch in the belt of PC gaming if this where we're heading on consoles.

WD 2 is PEGI 18

Vaginas and penises are allowed

Your delicate sensibilities are offended?

Don't buy the game

Out of interest, does the game have a filer for the more adult content? I understand it's rated 18 and over so I'm not complaining about the content existing in the game, just wondering if you can toggle seeing it. Otherwise I will have to be very careful when I play this game ha

No, I think his message is being misconstrued (I think?)

It's not that he's offended by the idea of an M-rated videogame showing genitalia, it's that it's treated as a "bonus feature" for those seeking upskirts IF this is intentionally crotchless panties and not whatever-the-hell could have happened in the code to make this appear.

If you're going to have sexual content in a game for sexual purposes, then that's the game you're making (and I say good on ya.) The nudity on the street in the nudist colony or the guy peeing, that's all in proper context, and we can argue about whether the ESRB's "brief nudity" was a proper summary or not, but games that say they have nudity -surprise- have nudity in them. But to intentionally model a vulva for a laugh so that when something goes screwy with your game and you can see up a woman's skirt, you get yourself a joke vag, that's extra slimey and unseemly. Even videogame corpses being teabagged and gibbed and ragdolled by grenades should have some dignity.

I'm going to guess that this was not Ubisoft's intention, and that the texture is a mistake from either the nudist skin texture or actually a Rorschach of body textures bleeding through the underwear graphic (this is getting silly talking about digitally-created vagina errors, but it has actually happened before; I do not refer you to the epic va-Geist-na.) Because cool with nudity or not, if an artist there actually said, "See this NPC chick? Dude, I'm going to put a vagina on her, LOL," that artist would have been a real jagoff.

II'm not against nudity but I find it so odd they would put it in a game like this. Kids typically love playing these types of games because of there sandbox nature and I'm sort of shocked UBI did not give that any thought.

Soooo...these are games (GTA, Watchdogs...) where you can literally blow the brain of anybody, anytime, with any kind of weapons.
But a vagina is a no-no? Think of the children?

This is laughable.

Game isn't meant for kids... What's there to get.

Why not add babies to the same update.

You're implaying that a shitty vagina texture on some models is actually worse than all the killings, which already makes me doubt your "not a prude" stance. And I don't see the connection between having those shitty textures and adding rape and killing babies.

Notice that after 15 pages no one has chosen to directly post the image on this forum. They have chosen to instead make the photo one click away for those that wish to see it. What is stopping these people from directly posting the image to NeoGAF? Do they fear a forum ban, or are they simply respectful to the content others may want to avoid?

Regardless of the reason, maybe it would be smart for all involved to exercise the same level of caution when choosing to display the image elsewhere. The way the OP shared the image means in will show up on the console itself in the Live from PlayStation submenu. The game itself chooses to put the game behind a mature rating. That is fair. The Live from PlayStation menu has not rating restriction. That makes displaying such content is an issue,

Of course, the correct answer would be that Sony has better barrier in place for such content posted to Live from PlayStation, but that is not an option right now.

Well, I mean, it would be a very different game, and I doubt many people would buy it, but sure. It's just a game.

You are kinda doing the slippery slope fallacy here though.

I will never not be fascinated by the american outrage culture when it comes to genitalia, sex or swearing.

You guys should watch some dutch TV, it would blow your mind. Acting like kids should be protected against depictions of bog-standard human appendages is so fucking unreal.

If OP shared the image in such a way that other people on PSN could see the image without any kind of warning, then their suspension was entirely justified. The fact that this is in the game to begin with is irrelevant.

Although I can see the game being recalled for this, as this is the kind of thing that warrants an AO rating, and patching it out isn't sufficient, as that doesn't change the fact that the content is on the disc. Not everybody downloads patches. This is Hot Coffee all over again.
