Marvel vs. Capcom 4 not in development

marvels f2p mobile stuff (i think on of those is a fighting game) is making them way too much money. there is no reason for marvel to bother with mvc4.

i still think its a missed opportunity. injustice sales were pretty good and a new marvel fighter could be much bigger. release it right next to infinity war= profit.

This sucks :(

at least give us the 360 version of Marvel vs Capcom 2 as a backwards compatibility game for the Xbox One

Contest of Champions (the mobile fighting game) is making over $25 million a month, yeah.

Marvel seem like they are making a lot of smart moves with their IP, working with different publishers (considering Spider-Man and Guardians of the Galaxy). I imagine the only thing stopping a MvC4 is enough fan interest.

But for real, the only way a MvC4 could happen is if Disney is that desperate for esports money/audience, which I honestly doubt.

Only way Mahvel4 becomes a success is if Capcom is just a hired developer and someone else is in charge of literally everything else.

That's...kinda how they make their fighting games since last gen anyways. Eighting did TvC and Dimps did Street Fighter 4.

Marvel's free-to-play efforts and a MvC4 wouldn't be competitors, so it doesn't seem like highly profitable mobile games would impact the decision to make a potentially highly profitable console game also.

The only concern to Marvel would be damage to the IP, but given that they are entrusting Spider-Man and Guardians of the Galaxy to developers I see no reason why they wouldn't trust Capcom with making a sequel in a successful franchise.

Just renewing the license so we can get 2 and 3 re released would be good enough for me right now tbh.

They redid their divisions.

They're now:
- HD console games for the world (Resident Evil, Dead Rising)
- Online games (things like Street Fighter and Dragon's Dogma)
- Lower budget games for Japan (Monster Hunter, Sengoku Basara, Ace Attorney)
- Mobile/Social

I don't know which he got moved to.

This pisses me off if they internally label their team like that.

Don't forget a potential mvsc would have no xmen, fantastic 4 and iffy spiderman representation since they are not part of the MCU.

disney/marvel have full control over spider-man, outside of the movies. thats why they are making a big budget ps4 game. he and miles moales would be in mvc4.

x-men and ff4 would probably be absent.
