Those seem like pretty good luck to me, What are you farming?
I got Mr.4 while finishing up Alabasta, which was unfortunate because I'm sitting on books for just about every rare unit in Alabasta but Mr.4. He's also pretty damn bad IMO, mediocre stats and a special that's a poor man's poor man's Raid Kuma. In all possible niches, be it his classes, his type, or his ability he gets outclassed by pretty easy-to-get units that are F2P.
Carne and Patie are casualties of farming for Chef Zeff. I was pleased to get my first copy of each because I need them for a story mission, but now my luck is being cruel to me :s

Oh wow, got lucky with Alvida sockets and have already gotten 5/5 in Auto-Heal. Think it only took me ~ 25 copies. Just need to farm up 5 more books and I'm done with the FN.
On the other hand, my luck with the coffin boat is terrible. I failed the upgrade to level 9 about 10 times already, might be even more since it's been quite a few weeks already without progress.

Mr. 4 is great for damage-based rankings, though.

Really? I don't see it. His special does at most 82k damage to 6 enemies, aren't there a decent number of characters who would be able to outdamage him?
Yeah, I got Mr.3 via RR on this account when I first rolled it. And I suppose that is true. I'm not about to toss him out, as much as I wish he were any other Alabasta character.
His ability is what is key. 4X on the last hit and it stacks. Dudes were doing one of the rankings with him and hitting something ridiculous like 16 million.

I wasn't actually planning on farming Kid just yet but the game clearly had different plans for me. After something like 4+ meat snails and a level up in the last two days, I had nothing better to spend my stamina on. I've had my fill of the Robin & Nami FN, both my Usopp and Luffy are skill maxed, I have 35 3D2Y Nami books saved, and I even finished sockets on my towel Nami so there's not much point in running it anymore.
Twenty-five Kid copies and 10 books later and now I have only 24 open inventory spaces. Of course Bandai would have turtles and CC events right before a skill up event, sadistic bastards.

It was a one-turn kill with only one matching orb thanks to Ideo, who's been MVPing for me recently thanks to his special working nicely with both Legend Lucci and Marco. Nolan got brought along to ensure a quick kill, and quick was right. I got the drop, but now I'm tempted to go ahead and try 40 stamina with this team, as underleveled as it is. The only thing I'd really change would be replacing Nolan with Story Lucci, if I had him. Now I'm really looking forward to clearing Enies Lobby...

Should be doing Urouge too. I have already over 50 Kid copies and my box is almost full. Forgot which team I used against Urouge though...
I'm using my standard Enel team, even though killing Perona takes like 3-4 minutes each run.
It may not be the fastest, but it's quite reliable.

last year we only got 2 exclusive units and nothing else did we not?

I heal like 2800-3100 at the end of each turn. I would say something under 2700 or so it's quite dangerous, since you aren't guaranteed to get meat orbs in Perona.
Once you reach stage 4 it works like this:
Perona despairs you for 3 turns as a preemptive strike - Use Golden Pound Usopp in order to survive.
Attack normally. At 80% she buffs her attacks and deals 3800 HP every turn for 8 turns.
After that she goes back to 3100 HP every turn.
Under 20% she despairs again. Use Golden Pound, keep attacking until she dies (she will use normal attacks again)
Once you kill her you'll reach Urogue. If you need, you could stall a bit on Perona and get GP Usopp ready in order to have 5 turns to kill him.
Don't burst him unless you are sure you can kill him. The problem with Urogue is that he nullifies all damage for 3 turns if you bring him to low health. And he'll OHKO you. He has 1.7 million health.
It takes a while. You can change Kaku for Doffy, I don't really know what I use Kaku TBH. And even at 28 you should be able to use his special in stage 5 since you'll be like 20 turns at Perona stage.
You just need to:
A) Be able to heal between 2700-3000 with Enel to survive Perona (my team has 12k HP BTW)
B) Be able to defeat Urogue without him nullifying upcoming damage.
C) Have patience because it's not the fastest team available.
The idea of an almost-guaranteed Law is cool and all, but the idea of pulling 11 dupes isn't so cool.

Same here. Outside of the Legends, the only boosted units I don't have are SW Zoro, Leo and Sugar. While I would LOVE Leo and Sugar (already have 3D2Y Zoro), 2/11 is not good odds to pull for.
It's rng, not much more to it than that.
He comes back around fairly often, so don't stress it if you're not quite there yet.
Im sure This wont Help you much but I got him on the 30 stamina version at lvl 54 with This team Double Sengoku, DJ Sanji, Alvida, GP Usopp and a blue lobster
Only have Kyros out of that list. Still don't think I'll do a multi, since I don't really care about Legend Law and the next couple of Legends look more appealing to me. I am at 70 gems right now, FB-event and new FNs might push that to 80 even with raid farming, which is a comfortable amount to sit on for me.

How do you get so many gems?! I have around 40 or so, and my box space is MUCH less, but the gem gathering seems to be going slowly. Maybe I should focus on clearing more story. I'm only up to Drum Island.
I have only 2 of the boosted characters on the Sugo, so I will be pulling. If I get a dupe of what I already have, I am quitting forever.
I'm over 100 gems, all F2P and boxspace is around 875 I think (I got up in 5 gems at a time). Will probably hit 900 before the skillup event starts with Baccarat and all. OPTC is the best for free gems. If you've been playing since the beginning it's easy not to waste a lot on sugos that dont have things you need (last one I did 1 pull and stopped)
I honestly have no idea. I cleared the story up to Alabasta, I've done the lowest level of the coliseums, I haven't gotten completion gems from any of the raids or fortnights other than Alvida, and I haven't bought any gems on this account(...yet). I'm not even a month in yet, so I honestly don't have a good explanation other than I guess the little things add up.
Sugo looks decent, but I have 7 of the 11 boosted units so no multipull here. I would very much like a Senor Pink though, and he's double boosted. Probably just going to do 2 pulls (thanks to the free gems from the FB event) and call it a day. Still well on-pace for 3 multipulls during the anniversary sugo.
Colosseum off-days feel pretty slow now, especially when I've already farmed the current fortnight a ton. Need more Kid copies...

The rated up units range from quite good to awesome TBH. If you are a new player it may be worth it.
There will be better times though. But as Reddit said, there is a 4 hour period where you get both Frieza and Thanksgiving bonuses. That's 60 gems + the usual bonuses.
You can only find the color that shows at the map select, on Monday is always purple and on Friday it can be either red, blue or green
Day 13: Last Minute Goals
Goalposts have been for a lack of a better word, smashed. Not only was every goal that was listed above cleared, it was cleared and then some. For example:
- Ideo was leveled to Lv 70, evolved, and leveled up to 40 again
- Same story as above for Nolan, to Lv. 50 two times
- and Calgara
- Pirate Lv. 97
- Heracles'n and Chopper raids completed for one copy of each raid boss
- Obtained all of the current FN characters
- Obtained Mr.4, 4 Carnes, and 2 Pattys while trying to farm other characters. Mixed blessing on the last two
- Evolved Mr.5 in anticipation of dumping his 15 skillbooks on him soon
All in all, good shit all around right? Cleared all my goals and then some, already have short and longterm goals set up for story farming, and with promising content starting tomorrow to dig into? About that...I dun goofed. You see, the same team that cleared Monster Chopper can also sleepwalk through 30 stamina Alvida. Had I known this, I'd have been farming Alvida for the last week or so and gotten enough manuals to max out her special. Sadly, I only realized this yesterday evening. Yeah...whoops.
Today was dedicated to farming Alvida more or less nonstop for as long as stamina permitted. Sadly, that was only three book's worth of Alvidas since the drop rate seems to be terrible, the fat Alvidas are only good for sockets, I only got one meat from snails, and this is the end of boosted meat rates on snails. 3 out of 30 is faaaar from ideal. The good news is, all those STR pigs helped get Diamante to Lv. 65 and that barring my lack of a Rainbow Penguin, he'll be ready to be evolved and with a healthy pile of STR turtles and pigs with which to boost him up once he's evolved.
The one exception to running Alvida all day was turtle time, as the abundance of INT turtles helped get Thunderbolt Tempo Nami, Vergo, and Nolan to Lv.50 and let me begin dumping exp onto Straw Hat Franky, who's been doing work on my Trebol team as a beater and orb shuffler even at level 1.
That leaves me with just a little over a day to try and get as many Alvida books as I can manage. Now, I won't have a maxed out Alvida in time for the Mihawk raid this week no matter what, but I'm sorely tempted to do my best to have the books I'll need to max her out ready to roll for the 29th regardless. Or in other words, I'm strongly contemplating the merits of gemming to max her out. I'm currently at a 68 stamina bar, but the good news is that at the moment, that's just about enough to level me up on each use of a gem between the natural stamina refill of a level up and the use of a gem.
For the math:
68 *2 = 136 total stamina from refill + gem
136/15 = 9 Alvida runs at 15 stamina
9 * 2895 = 26,055 exp per gem + refill
I'm going to be about halfway through level 98 by the end of the night off of natural stamina, meaning ~15k exp in. Below is the amount of EXP I'd need to reach each level from 99 to 110.

That's pretty damn close to the threshold I'd need to level up. It wouldn't be perfect margins for minmaxing of my gem refills, but I could make do by recharging after running through my 26k, using the excess stamina for other purposes that are less exp-efficient (tomorrow is double drop Alabasta cough cough) to get me to a razor's margin of level up, then use my remaining stamina to clear Alvida again, leveling me up and letting me go into the next level with enough EXP to let me keep repeating the same trick. This'd work all the way up to Lv. 110 by my numbers at the cost of two gems a level for near endless Alvida farming intermixed with Alabasta grind. Now, would the gem cost be worth it? That's the real question. According to the reddit thread, Alvida's book has a 28% chance to drop. At anywhere between 10 to 15 runs every two gems for 10 levels, this is the expected number of manuals:
12.5(avg # runs per level) * 10 levels * 0.28 = 35 books, or about 3.5 per level
Yes, it would be! What's more, it can be pulled off far earlier than the original estimate of it taking up to Lv. 110. We'd only need about 27 books, so in reality it'd be up to about Lv. 108 or 109 at worst. If we assume the worst and say 9 levels it is, that totals out to 18 gems. The question becomes, is a maxed Alvida worth 18 gems or so? The opportunity cost would be 90 less box space, 3 less pulls, or a loss of gems that could be used to otherwise farm other content. I'll offer up the early disclaimer that having recently binged on box space, the original intent for these gems was a sugopull. I'll offer an additional disclaimer and say that I was already planning on going in on at least one Sugopull this runaround whether I had to pony up a bit or not to get the gems to do so.
Now, the bad side is yeah, these gems could go towards farming Mihawk. The problem with that is, without at least 80 stamina going in on Mihawk quickly becomes very gem expensive, as if you're not getting at least 2 Mihawks per gem it seems like bad business. What's more, the total amount of EXP garnered from farming Mihawk from 80 stamina with a natural bar + gem is equal to 4 runs at 6600 exp each, or 26.4k exp. Or in other words, I get about as much exp maxing Alvida as I would farming Mihawk, except it'd cost me far less gems to do so for Alvida at my current level, and farming Alvida would get me far closer to making Mihawk farming good business at Lv. 121.
That is of course, ignoring other benefits like the steady stream of STR turtles and pigs with which to boost up units like Monster Chopper, Diamante, and Legend Lucci currently sitting in my box, the large amount of Alabasta farming that will get done to eat up excess stamina, and most importantly of all maxing out God Coby's sockets and getting Gaimon to Lv. 50 solely by feeding him onto himself. You know, the really important things. As I guess it's pretty apparent, I'm feeling pretty pro-grind atm since the immediate benefits hit all of my checkboxes for things I want to get done in the short term like inflate my player level, level up my underleveled STR units, and get me an incredibly useful character for future content ready to roll under the best possible conditions to do so(half stamina + upcoming skull up). I'm looking for feedback here; how justifiable is my current plan? Anybody want to talk me out of it, or encourage it? Feedback pls, before I commit :s
Until you can get at least close to 2 Mihawks per gem, it's not a great idea to gem for him.
1/2 Stamina Alvida is a good opportunity. I wouldn't say it's necessary to max her right away at all, but she's a useful unit that will continue to be useful in the future. Get as many books as you need to max her during a skillup event and wait.
Keep in mind that we're getting 1/2 stamina weekly islands starting on the 29th for extra isle stuff with normal exp values (Alvida and Arlong have terribad pirate exp rates since they were some of the first fortnights before they normalized things). You'll level up like crazy if you opt to gem during that time, and I recommend it for a new player.
Maintenance time ladies and gents. While I think many might be more excited about skipping animations with a tap, I'm excited about the 20 extra team points we're all getting! I can finally, finally field my Fuji team I've been slowly leveling up!!! Anyone else looking forward to the increase in team points?
Also, reading what you've achieved in only 13 days is amazing ETMO. Your plan seems solid, though I personally think that farming Mihawk is essential, but I have no idea if it's efficient or worthwhile for you now.

I'm gonna end up with 250-300 gems for 2nd anniversary at this rate, if I manage to not pull in the next few sugofests. Only missing SW Zoro and obviously Legend Law in this next batch. Maybe Borsalino arrives before 2nd anniversary for me to spend gems on.

I wouldn't recommend Baccarat for the cotton candy island. Takes way too long and I'm not sure if you can even beat the highest difficulty with her. Baccarat is nice for the rate-this-app mission for the chance of extra tomes.
