Put It In Your MAU-th: Pork Loin leading PS4/Xbone in NA

So what we've got here is PS4 winning two retailers(best buy/Amazon) and Xbox winning two retailers(target/Costco) according to our knowledge. Okay.
Basically.

I don't know which of the two sold more but I think it is very likely that both were within arms reach of one another. I don't think any console got "boxed out".

What's interesting is if you look at the whole year so far the PS4 Pro is still ahead of the slim on Amazon despite it selling gangbusters on BF. I think the Pro did very well and at least well because of two months worth of sells build up.

This sounds like an insult to Muslims....

Anyway, I see it being very close with Sony taking it, just barely.

But there's no way Sony's not winning December with Final Fantasy XV, The Guardian along with titles.

How to win any future sale season: bundle your console with pork loins.

Switch better come with a healthy slab of pork.

Don't worry, etta. There's a chance MS may get the lead in the promise land at some point this gen. :D

looks like someone is projecting
Settle down, I'm merely pointing out how everyone was like "Pro is November, Sony gonna walk it", and everyone was ya ya tru tru.
Now you're making it seem like everyone thought MS was gonna take it?
No surprising.

Mhm, I think orders from September to launch in November will be the deciding factor here.

Yeah, it's a little weird to see the sudden narrative change.

I fully expect to buy a PS4 over an XB1 in the near future, but I have to admit that Microsoft's offerings have been way more enticing in Canada. If it wasn't for the fact that Microsoft has next to no console exclusives that I can't play on my PC, I would have probably gone that route.

GAF is going to be a sight to behold when XB1 doesn't take November and starts losing months early next year.

RIP 4K Blu-ray playback.

Not surprised because Microsoft goes in on a lower price point for the holidays. They seemed to have the better bundles early on as well. I haven't seen any good bundles on Sony's side beside the Uncharted one.

It has better framerate Blue Dragon

That's a great fucking exclusive right there

Believe in the power of the brofist.

The last Guardian is getting a million buys next month and it will charm your underpants off.

Indeed, the guy is money. He's just vastly more effective as a taste-maker than any mainstream critic.

Yeah, that would be a blow to Sony not to win. I'd be surprised.

To me, I think many assumed we'd see the one two combination of:
-Pro launch
-Call of Duty bundle
-WD2 bundle
-UC4 bundle

If Sony had all of the above for Nov I would had put a far higher likelihood for Sony to take Nov.

But instead Sony only has one volume play which is UC4 bundle which pales compared to the bundle selection MS has.

BF is about lowest prices and best value and Sony doesn't have that this year. If volume disparity between Slim and S is 30% of the millions of consoles sold in Nov I could see a situation where Pro bump alone doesn't match the volume gap.

I dunno. Sony seem content with their sales and seem more focused on ensuring they make profit instead. They're in a position where they can comfortably do that now.

Not really much to gain for Sony to try undercut MS since software sales from what I can tell are doing well, selling well world wide unlike XBONE and making profit is of more value.

Sony being concerned with profits is definitely what I've been thinking as well, and it's likely the reason that the Pro doesn't have a 4k drive or a new CPU - instead of just an upclocked one.

This thread is weird.. I was under the assumption most people expected Sony to win November NPD cause of the Pro?

I think Sony will win still, preorders + new console launch will help it.
They were. It's pretty much most of what I've seen the past 3 months. "Wait until the Pro comes out"

Yes. "Wait until the Pro comes out" before declaring anything. Because no one knew what sales it was going to have. It's the first iterative console ever. Could sell gangbusters, shit, good, bad, and everything in between.

That's what I read and why should be renamed "move goalposts"

You're assuming that the same people in this thread are the same ones who previously made such statements.

I keep seeing this. Wasn't it $249 across the board for PS4 and X1?

AND best value.

If I was an average joe-consumer, in no world would an Uncharted 4 bundle be a match for:

- Gears 4 Bundle ( comes with Gears 1/2/3/J/4)
- Halo MCC/5 Bundle ( comes with MCC + Halo 5)
- Minecraft Bundle ( Minecraft duh )
- BF1 bundle ( newer, popular FPS )

In terms of diversity of offering and what comes in the box by default, MS has the quantity and quality to match and best what Sony offers this fall in North America.

Europe is a different story with CoD & Watch_Dogs 2 bundle, but we're talking US here.

Yes and several retailers had extras on top. Khols had $75 Khols cash. GameStop had an extra game. Best Buy had two extra games. Walmart had a $30 gift card. Target didn't have any deals on top for PS4 but did for Xbox so that's probably why it won there. It also had the best deal on Xbox so someone looking for one would go there.
