Please tell me you're being ironic. The last thing you'd wanna do in the desert is have as much exposed skin as possible, doubly so when you're working on cars. Fuck sake. People who say absolutely stupid shit like "it's hot in the desert so exposed skin works" when defending abhorrent character design seriously need to take a step back and use their heads, and not the one in between their legs. And yea when all is said and done, FFXV absolutely fails at female characterization and representation. Luna has literally only a single scene that doesn't involve Noctis in anyway, "strong female character." Lol

Lets be honest, FF never really has done the idea of " Hey guys we're going into the frozen mountain area, lets change clothes because wakka is walking around shirtless and he'll die of frostbites if he goes there" ... But that outfit Cidney wears should have been a casual outfit, while acutally having a mechanic outfit while working on the car... like that deviant art one everyone posts on here. I want FF to have different costumes for characters for different areas.
I complained about it prior to launch, calling it the Michael bay effect. It still stands. Cindy is Megan Fox 'hawt mechanic chick', and the camera angles and some of the panels they give her are very infuriating

Oh lol, didn't realize the bottom portion of her outfit was so ridiculous, and yeah her tiny jacket was weird. I didn't really pay attention to her much on screen because I hated her accent sooooo much. Made me want to switch to Japanese dialogue.

Well its a "Fantasy" game. In fiction like many movies or cartoons they usually get rid of clothes instead putting more on to show that its getting hot.
I know thats not the best way in reality.
Also its not like she is in a bikini like Quiet. She just wears hotpants instead of jeans and shows some cleavage.
Another issue with Luna is that it felt like Tabata just wrote someone quickly without really thinking about it. "People liked Yuna and Aerith right!? let me just mash em together into one person!" Well they were great characters because they were in the narrative a bit, did things of conseqence and generally had a huge impact on events.

I really don't want to defend Cindy or anything...but the desert you speak of where this occurs is not the desert where Hammerhead is set. I live in the "desert" like where Hammerhead looks like (SW US, New Mexico/Arizona/Nevada) and we don't cover ourselves from head to toe.

Just wondering for the sake of this, when was the last time we had that moniker in the FF15 trailers? Last time i can remember was it being in the old Versus stuff, since its now "RECLAIM YOUR THRONE" I always thought they dropped it like the other stuff relating to versus.

Her entire midriff is exposed, she has a visible thong, half her ass is hanging out, and somehow her jacket doubles as a pushup bra, being "fantasy" does not mean "throw logic out the window." Especially when that defense only conveniently comes up at the defense of shit tier female character designs.

How would that make her any more important as a character? She seems to be just about as important as the real Cid in regards to the story, and just as capable.
He's all about trying to dress up a particular digital woman, make her his girlfriend and get his actual girlfriend to dress up as her ect
The point is that she should have been the actual Cid instead of just some eyecandy lesser form that could have been excised entirely for the Cid actually there with no actual difference to the game.

I don't know about this point. Cid's role in a Final Fantasy game isn't always important. In 1 he's only mentioned, in XIII his character is nonsense and boss fight fodder. I personally don't see her being elevated if she's the 'real' Cid. The role isn't THAT coveted.

well then all characters are paper thin on the game, not much more to say than what has been on reviews and impressions, the story is poor on this one.
Feels like tabata didn't know what to do with the prominent female spot, and just made her character fit with a plot that was easy to rewrite without caring about her herself.
Everything that happens to her essentially only happens because it easy for the plot to progress and close certain plot threads as easy as possible.
Her big moment fell completely flat because I was given very little reason to care.

Yea it's like clearly a lot of concessions were made to make this FF feel much more grounded than any other one in the series. Except when it comes to women, the majority of whom have caricature like accents, barely any character development or agency.
The poor ADR definitely didn't help.
I appreciate that it's not convoluted but due to the nature in which the story was rewritten a lot of the characters are absolutely paper thin so a lot of the emotional moments feel unearned.

the fact that her character is not even there outside of being 100% inward focused on Noctis doesn't help. There's one cutscene that shows her outside life, but that's a pretty weak consolation.

I somewhat agree with that, but I don't think that's what pashmilla was trying to say. It's more that it shows a certain ... disrespect for women that's also present in the marketing for the game, most notably in that Ofuji quote and arguably in how the trailers treat Luna.
How did you even come to this conclusion?
Clearly the grumpy old man named Cid isn't the Cid of the game. Like, duh! Not to say Cindi doesn't have her own set of ...issues, but that's an entirely different matter.

Kingsglaive was the big warning sign that the female characters in this game were going to get done dirty. I suspected that was how it would go down when Cindy was revealed and even more when they confirmed the party was just going to be a boy's club. But Kingsglaive was when I knew they had zero clue how to write an interesting female character into this world.

Honestly, to me the breasts are very obnoxious and out of place. They tried too hard and the character was fine without the obvious "ooohhhh look at these" factor.

I'm more upset with the way Crowe was handled in Kingsglave.
Women aren't exactly coming out on top in the FFXV world.
... A fantasy sadly based on reality indeed.
But, yeah... I'm not done with the game yet, but Luna's one of the weakest and most bland women the Final Fantasy series has ever given us from what I've seen of her in Kingsglaive and the game thus far.

It's a ridiculous and impractical outfit for a mechanic or a person living in an arid climate, let alone a mechanic living in an arid climate. Let's not pretend we don't know the one and only reason why she is designed that way.
My suggestion is to put more effort into your troll posts, little breh.

I think OP would have been fine with an all male playable cast(sorry if i'm putting your words in your mouth OP) as long as the female characters represented in the game were strong, had their own identities and goals and were generally nuanced and full of depth.
the issue she is raising is that the female characters outside of the main cast literally don't matter and generally are footnotes in the overall game, which makes the sausage fest far more of an issue.
