Had no idea the pic in the OP was a bomber jacket. I thought my awesome leather jacket was what a bomber jacket was. guess its an aviator leather jacket after some googling.

I think the OP jacket is decent

Yay for me. I own the one similar to one you posted, but not that puffy. I also own this, and prefer this style of bomber jacket:

Great jacket.
Lose the hoodie and it'd be a good looking jacket

This style of jacket has become popular in recent years, and I was wondering what GAF thought of them.

Cool? Lame? Would you wear one? Why or why not?

Huh?

That style of jacket was popular back in the late 90s-early 2000s, at least in the hip-hop world. I still have that exact jacket, and a dark blue one.

Don't let GAF put you down on this one in turn of a diesel esque moto with a hoodie. *vomits*
They are a staple in a minimalist wardrobe.

I prefer the slim fits on guys. The over sized works better on women. Try a nude/beige suede over a simple black under layer.

Did anyone else see this and think of a neo-nazi straight away - or is it me?

As of the topic at hand, the puffy shit like the one above? Nay. Non-puffy? A-ok.

I see where you are coming from but I know of it's history

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skinheads_Against_Racial_Prejudice

The S.H.A.R.P. movement was especially popular in the late 70Â’s to mid 80Â’s. It took some time after the rise of racist skinheads in the 70Â’s to make their wave of hate, for people to come together and go against them. Many people may confuse them with racist skinheads, since their appearance is particularly alike: shaved heads, denim, lace up boots, collared shirts and suspenders. A differentiation that can easily separate the two would be music interests. S.H.A.R.PÂ’s listen to culturally influenced music such as: Rock, Soul, Reggae, and Ska. Skinheads, who are racist would disagree with these musical choices.

Where can I find high-quality slim fit bomber jackets in the non-oversized style?

You seem like an expert.

Problem is the punk/hardcore scenesters always wore the black jackets and army boots, plus other army fatigues. Incidentally the rightwingers or neo-nazis kinda like that music, so they also wear the gear. The gear or the music is not at fault here, you know?

I associate bombers with ska kids and skinheads. Many of the jackets pictured in this thread do not fit the bomber jacket criteria for me (of course I have no idea what said criteria is)

Bomber jackets are okay, but in the UK they are associated with skinheads who are associated with the far-right/neo-nazis. At least that was the case when I was a kid in the 70's. Maybe it's changed now.

What is this and where can I get it?

that's a hipster, you can find him in Brooklyn.

link?

nevermind found it at schottnyc.com

fuckkkk those prices

SchottNYC stuff is expensive, it's authentic cowhide and handmade and yaddi yadda. But the style, which is "motoracer" or "club racer" isn't exclusive to Schott, the Schott I just got this fall. I also have a old faux leather one from Zara, in green which looks fantastic as well and always gets me compliments.

Like this:

This one's nice in a similar style:

Shop around, you should find one in your budget, if not real leather, go for faux leather.
