This sucks, I can't get the third giggle.
I tried swinging the axe at the picture and nothing. I tried shooting the picture and nothing. I then watching the VHS tape then going back and repeating the axe and gun, but still nothing.

Damn it. I just tried out my friends Vive and I'm obsessed with VR now.

But it says VR on the steam page?

Timed exclusive VR.

Playstation VR only for the first year.

A few of us are hoping modders manage to get VR working in the game's guts, but it has Denuvo so the anti-tamper is strong.

No VR support for a year due to an exclusivity deal with Sony - however you can put money on the same kind of VR support being modded in for the gamepad style play at the very least - which isn't ideal

That's happened a few times in the past for me. Some say it may be a time thing, but that probably isn't the case. At that point it's time to restart and try again.

It can be ghetto rigged with vorpx I assume. Not the best method but it should work.

My god, tried the demo and is well beyond my greatest expectations!

Can't wait for a new good Resident Evil after the average 5 and the awful 6 chapter.

For anyone curious how it's running on a 4690K, 980 Ti, and 8-16GB RAM, I've uploaded a video:

https://youtu.be/R5tXlo4cn3o

Like a lot of other Capcom PC titles, this is nothing short of fantastic.

I've got literally the exact same specs as you and I'm getting 130fps max and MAJOR stuttering (more like short freezing) issues whenever something happens. I've
been infected by the basement monster
many times just because him spawning causes the whole game to freeze up for about five seconds. I'm concerned as to what's happening.

EDIT: I put Shadow Quality down to High and Ambient Occlusion down to SSAO instead of HBAO+ and I seem to be getting at least 170-80fps so that's good, but the stuttering is still there; it seems to happen when walking to other places or when some new animations start (like picking up the gun). My first idea is that it's my HDD.

No It's set to normal. Though it looked better when I changed the brightness and AA type.
I just went through the demo again and it's clearly an intentional interlacing effect in that section because you're watching a VHS tape.
Perhaps it just wasn't implemented in the PS4 demo because it's an older build?

Something that is bothering me about the demo is that enabling their TAA option causes the screen to constantly vibrate or warp and it gets worse the higher your framerate is.
A lot of the shadow/reflection effects are not very temporally stable either, with a lot of flickering/noise.
Using the SMAA option does a much better job removing aliasing than FXAA, so an option to combine SMAA with TAA might be better than the FXAA+TAA option they have now.

I feel like their TAA solution could use a (stronger) sharpening filter too.
I prefer it when games give you a sharpness slider if they're going to use a TAA solution.
Everything looks a bit blurry to me with TAA enabled, but maybe I'm just getting used to other games which use TAA and over-sharpen the image now.
An over-sharpened image seems to fit well with the grimy aesthetic they're going for.

Why people see mods like an impossible thing with Denuvo? MGSV has Denuvo and it has been nodded to hell.
Depends on the type of modification that you're trying to do.
Things like texture mods are probably not impacted by Denuvo at all.
If you need to touch the executable or inject dlls, you will probably run into issues.

There are tons of cheats which modify resources etc. on MGSV, and they also impact the online from what I read, so I see no problem on modifying RE7 if you want.

Man I thought wouldn't like this game but can't stop thinking about it after the demo. I guess I am preordering tonight.

Runs and looks fantastic here. Max out 1080p 60fps flawless with 980Ti.

Payed it twice. I had a bad ending and one death in the basement. Great demo. I'll give it another go later.

I think this shit looks amazing. Very oppressive and atmospheric. Perfect performance.

Is anybody else having weird slowdown issues?
The game runs excellent, but sometimes seemingly at random, it goes into slow motion for a few seconds, and then it returns to regular again. Really weird.

Looks like it be medium settings with some leeway in high for me, as I was expecting, but it still looks pretty nice and runs pretty smoothly for now, so good.

Occasionally.
Performance is mostly flawless for me. GTX 1060, i7-6700HQ.

I do get a slight frame drop while running past the light in the kitchen. Might be a way to fix that, but it doesn't really bother me either way. Apart from that it's absolutely fine.

This is what I was coming to report. Tried it for a bit earlier and noticed slowdowns. And I'm running a 1080 and a 6700k, everything maxed at 1440p. Granted, I'm running old drivers (around July, I think...) so that could be the issue, but it's dissappointing nonetheless.

greenman has been sketchy lately. But in the past they always delivered capcom codes instantly, even preorders - is that still the case?

Keep trying to get out through the door until you kick it open.

And try not to get hit, you won't get the good ending if you do.

That's
the Moulded, the new regular enemy in place of zombies/Plagas variants/j'avo.

You can kick the door down to get outta there
.

Was like nope nope nope.D: But yeah you need to break through the door.

There also
that bodybag in the center that you can use to stun it temp if needed.

That's interesting. I know it's annoying but verify cache on Steam. Other than that, we have same/very similar setup. No reason for the stuttering. It was buttery smooth on my end.

Just cancelled my Steam preorder and reordered with CDkeys. They're pretty legit to my understanding and that's a fucking deal and a half.

Pretty good but could do with some work, although Capcom said they're not done with optimizations yet. If you think you can run it you probably can, it's not close to a Dishonored 2 sort of thing where you should be able to run it easily and performance could be super spotty.

I have a GTX 1080. Does it look much better than the PS4 version at all? That version was gorgeous already so I might just get it on console.

Wait am I missing something here brehs ? I had a bad ending but
didn't encounter no basement monster
nor any of the other stuff I've read here. I don't get how that works, isn't it all supposed to be static set pieces ? Does that mean I have to go through this demo again despite how awesome it was ? In full dark ? Alone at night in my appartment ?

I played the first version of the demo on Ps4 and it won't let me re download since but...I think it does look a good bit better if you're a sticker for details. HBAO+ etc adds a lot to a scene (but it's implementation seems a bit spotty at times, maybe it's just a bug/glitch). I can't remember if the console version is 60fps but if it is then in that sense they both play well.

If your PC can run it then I'd go for PC but if PS4 would just be your thing for whatever reason it doesn't seem like a slouch in particular.
