Limited Run Games - Putting digital games into your hands

I rarely back kickstarters, but in cases like this it kind of feels good to help and push a small project over the (stretch) goal.

It's still struggling a bit but I think we can make it

Ok Sharin No Kuni got a 10k boost yesterday ; at this point it will probably reach the 120k mark, so we can consider it an official LRG release.

The question is thus : should we preorder the game today and get a special cover or wait until it releases and buy a "regular edition" (around october 2017) ?

First, I don't know what are usually the shipping cost of kickstarted games and if it is "worth it"...

Also, should I buy it at all ? I see glowing reviews, but I personnally don't dig the art style. I can be pretty difficult regarding VNs.

Getting something just because it's rare and might get valuable sounds tedious and not worth the effort imo. I haven't decided if I want it yet or not myself.

It's worth noting, according to the latest update, that the exclusive cover will be for those that pledge $40+ while the campaign is going, you'll get the standard cover if you use BackerKit later.

So the only way to get the game is through them? Then I might as well pick up the special cover.

Ain't she a beaut?

What is with all those browser tabs? How can you even tell what's in each one?

By the way, does the Silver Case also have a LRG number as part of the main series, or is it LR-PC01 only?

This will get complicated on the shelf :p

Well, we still don't know that it'll even be coming to Vita, and thus getting a LRG release—unless I'm totally misunderstanding the Kickstarter. And no, one game isn't enough.

Unless they close the campaign two days before its time, it'll reach the Vita stretch goal.

Nice Kickstarter update for Plague Road. LRG is producing the physical copies and like the other KS getting all the attention, it too will have an exclusive cover for backers. They're also allowing additional copies to be bought at $25 each.

Huh, I thought LRG refused them at first since they said they wouldn't close deals for unfinished games. The same could technically be said to Sharin no Kuni, but still. Since Plague Road doesn't look the least appealing to me, I'll just wait until it's out and I get a regular copy.

Will those Kickstarter exclusive copies also have LRG serial numbers on the spine? Or would you have to get the "regular edition" for that?

I hope they do have the LRG serial number. They could make these exclusive covers have one side with the LRG serial number and the other without.

It's almost worth it just for Jim Sterling narrating. :)

The game looks interesting, but I'm half-scared that I'll end up funding a game that will never come out as a "LRG preorder".

$30,000 seems incredibly low for a project like this.

It's to cover some of their stretch goals. The game itself is funded, they are just trying to recoup some costs and make sure the vita port is solid. The PS4 version was playable at PSX.

Just backed both Kickstarter campaigns! :D

Hopefully these games don't miss their planned release dates by 2-3 years like all of the other games I've backed! haha

Ordered one more of each of the Shantaes on Black Friday and just happened to get the reverse covers from what I originally had. Nice.

No I didn't I've never got a box before as I've never ordered more than 2 games at a time. Currently waiting on a response, but yeah I've ordered every game from them ever bar Stealth Inc and this is a first.

eh...

Re: Sharin no Kuni Project on Kickstarter said:
Some of you have expressed the desire to be able to get multiple copies of the Kickstarter-exclusive physical Vita variant. We discussed various ways of how to make this possible, and in the end it became clear that the most straightforward way to get an extra copy of the variant Vita copy would be for you to make a second Kickstarter account and back the campaign again. We realize this might be a little bit of a pain, but it allows you to choose whether you want the deluxe box for each copy, and saves a lot of painful logistics on our end. We'd also like to ask that you limit yourself to 2 copies of the KS-exclusive Vita version, and we think this method will help make sure that happens!
