I liked the low-gravity stuff from the pre-sequel but never understood the oxygen limitation, that never added any fun or real challenge for me. I mean I understand limiting your hover thrust but not your ability to breathe. So I hope they keep that part of it.
Also I LOVED in the pre-sequel how it was pretty easy to get around without ever climbing into a vehicle. That was the only part of this franchise I disliked, the driving. Vehicle combat isn't fun, driving controls are weird, too easy to get stuck on the geography...

Pre-Sequel was interesting. The world was smaller than 2 but the game felt more balanced and rewarding for some reason. The story was a lot tighter.
Well if Blands2 ending was anything to go by, you may get your wish.

This. And I'd love to see bigger worlds, no loading screens, and a travel system more like Destiny's (small nippy vehicle summonable from anywhere) rather than the standard Borderlands system (big ugly car summonable from restricted locations). Not even Arkham Knight could make a car-tank fun.

My biggest hope for the game is that they get away from the whole "weapon manufacturer" thing where all the weapons from a particular company were basically the exact same. It really took away from the fun of finding/picking up loot in my opinion.

I'll be honest, given how much the series gets shit on around here I'm surprised this many people are excited enough about it to post in the thread. Borderlands 2 hype/OT was pretty big here, just goes to show the people who declared the series shit based off of the memes alone are a vocal minority I guess.
They had an open beta so a lot of people got to play.
Only played for like an hour and wasn't a huge fan.
But I love LOVE the Borderlands series (prequels less so)so am exited for BL3.
I actually kind of wish they created a BL in the same model as Destiny or the Division, I think raids would be awesome

At later levels (50+) it's pretty much necessary to do decent damage and it's just unintuitive having to switch back and forth between a slag weapon and a different weapon imo.

Just recently Randy said they're still figuring out where to go and that 80% of the studio are working on BB, so unless he was lying I hope people don't expect it to come anytime soon.
They balanced later playthroughs with Slag in mind.

Thanos acquires the fully powered Infinity Gauntlet in The Avengers: Infinity War, but loses when all the superheroes team up together to stop him.
Hope it's as good as BL2. Put well over 100 hours into that game. TPS seemed uninspired by comparison, although I think it told a slightly better story (even though Jack in BL2 was top tier villain material)

Being in the works, doesn't mean full scale production. Could be 20 people doing pre-production, researching what to do in terms of engine, game scope, technology and so on.
Pre-production takes a long time, so makes sense they won't transition onto Borderlands 3 until around now, and then have a smaller team work on Battleborn for the next year.

If Borderlands 3 improves on 2 like 2 improved on 1 (mechanically) then we're in for a real treat. A Borderlands game that plays like a competent shooter! I'm down for that, any other cool shit going on would just be gravy to me
I really like borderlands but i probably wont get it like i didnt get the 2nd one. I only picked up the 1st after i could get my hands in the all in one DLC GOTY edition. BL2 took until ps4/xb1 to have that and that was way too late so i skipped it. I like to finish my games in one go rather than coming back for DLC.

Well, I'm among them! I even enjoyed lots of things about TPS (but not the writing which was really cringeworthy and unfunny compared to BL2). I hope they keep some anti-gravity areas, and freeze guns at least.
I hope Athena is back somehow (playable or not), and of course Tannis, my favourite character of the series. <3
They just need to do everything they did for Borderlands 2 with a couple tweaks/improvements and the writing from Tales. Tales completely dropped the forced meme style and just had well-written, lovable characters. They need to stick to that track instead of going backwards.

I hope there's a melee-oriented cyborg character, and their special ability rocket shoots their fucking arms off so that you can fly around, AS YOUR OWN DISEMBODIED ARMS, shooting and slicing and punching dudes, while your body is just chillen somewhere safe, or maybe pulling double duty as a semi-stationary turret putzing around like a goof shooting mouth lazers or some shit. Maybe as you rank up, your body parts get more and more autonomous, and eventually your head is flying around shooting eye beams while shit-talking fools (omg why is this not a thing), your legs and midsection are running around truck-stopping dudes to stun 'em, and you're just flying around, as a pair of arms... shooting and punching dudes.
Shit, the possibilities. I'm imagining a pair of flying arms, high above the battlefield, taking potshots, swinging down to bash some dudes, and occasionally pointing at a location to give orders to the other body parts lmao.
If you're gonna make a melee character in a shooting game, make 'em ultra mobile and versatile on some crazy shit like that. I think it'd be super neat for the melee character to be the one who plays double duty as crowd control like the Turret guys from the last two games.
shit, now I'm worried that the new characters might not live up to the awesomeness of this dumb shit I just made up on the spot...
