Star Wars Merch |OT| Chewie, We're Broke.

I look forward to seeing your progress. What are these bases you mentioned?
Thanks.
Chain bases for Gundams, I originally just had 1 that came with the Metal Gear Rex model kit but once I got into 1/100 military I have about 12 now.

Modular and come in a variety of styles(multiple hangar types, streets, desert and a moon crater)

Edit:
oh sweet Galen's figure was just revealed and is coming with a mouse droid.

Wow, seriously? Glad I bought mine before they made that change. The whole reason I bought them was to display the hilts.

Yeah, it's pretty lame. I don't know what they were thinking.

That said, I can't even afford a $150 saber, and the original run can cost much more than that now, so I think I'm okay with what I got.

Thanks.

Those look pretty cool. Can you only stack walls on walls or can you add floors for multiple levels? I wonder if Action Fleets would fit well in these.

Only walls.
Also all the hangar type bases include a wall piece.

Depending on the ship you might need a few however,
As they are intended for upright 1/100 and 1/144 Gundams, they are about 6'x6'

However they do have a version that has a 2nd level platform base.

I just got the Medicom Mafex Boba Fett based on all the positive reviews and my enjoyment of the previously released Mafex Vader.

The details on the figure are great and the sculpt and colors are good, but there's almost TOO much going on with the figure. As soon as I was moving his right arm to get the rifle on, the arm popped off, and immediately was a bitch to get into the socket again securely, partly because the Wookie scalps keep sliding down into the socket area.

Also the arm mobility isn't quite as articulated as I'd like, I was hoping I could swivel the arms at the elbow so I could get Fett in his classic rifle holding pose, but the arms don't seem to swivel in.

Also the plastic covering his helmet out of the packaging is irritating. I had to use a knife to get it off and risk scraping the paint or plastic to do it.

So a great looking figure in every way, but not as pleasing as the Mafex Vader. Articulation should be way better than it actually is.

Habro probably canned the removable blade on the forcefx sabers just because they can. Why offer more when they can offer less for the same price? I personally plan on keeping the blade intact and mounting it on the wall. However some people like to display just the hilt and the non removable blade kills that option.

Already going through way more effort than I would.
Thanks,
the rangefinder was the real challenge so far imo.

I kinda want to do the others as Ezra shouldn't be too hard, but I have no clue for Zeb and Chopper.
I figure Ahsoka will likely be made by Hasbro soon so I wasn't too worried about her yet.
I wish Hasbro would bring it back full force with Episode VIII.
troop packs, small sets and maybe Action Fleet.

What're you doing exactly, Raz?
A rebel hangar/base display in Micro Machines-ish scale.
I initially wanted to do the outside of the Yavin 4 temple from Rogue One but I just don't have enough room atm.

The centerpiece will be The Ghost(going to do something separate with the Falcon.)
However because of there being no kits for it besides a $300 fan kit which is far too small and Lego, I stumbled upon the playskool set(from the last page) which with a lot of work could work for 1/72 scale.

Obviously I will have an X-Wing in there but im trying to figure out a scale U-wing as well.
Afterwards I will likely do Sabine's Tie fighter and the prototype B-wing.

Hasbro has made me angry with 3.75 scale Star Wars lately so im branching out.

Wow, good luck with that. Sounds interesting, looking forward to seeing your progress.

I finally caved for Black Series 6" stuff so I was just like "whatever, im already in".
I almost went with Fantasy Flight's ships but having humans was too essential for me.
Thanks.

I fear the day I go after a Star Wars Hot Toy though, I have too many of those as is without Star Wars.

Why not go for Japanese import 6"? It's a nice compromise. Better quality than Black Series, but not as expensive as Hot Toys.

Selection and price.
I own at least 35 Figma just at the moment and about 10 Figuarts so yeah I know they are by far a better quality but the price and selection hold them back for me.

Ahsoka alone was where I caved for Black Series, after I got her I went back to at least get essentials(Han, Obi-wan, etc) to go with her.
I have many problems with Hasbro but they get a variety out there quickly at least for Black Series.

Hot Toys thing is just that I already own a number of them (Batman Returns, 89 Joker, Arnold from Predator, Indy, a few others.)
As much as I want Han and stuff it takes a lot to get me to cave.

I feel ya, but selection on Star Wars characters is starting to get pretty good, I feel like I'm jumping in just as its starting to heat up on the import 1/12 market. Figurarts has Han and Chewie coming in the next few months, they've already shown Alec Guiness Obi Wan, Attack of the Clones versions of Obi Wan, Anakin and Padme are coming,Mafex has Rogue One Vader dropping this Summer, and with multiple companies doing 1/12 scale in Japan there's going to be a lot of options between Medicom, Max Factory and Bandai, more than just with Hasbro.

^ I would like to get that, never bought a figuarts before, so what do I need to do?

Oh man...these figures are amazing. I have never directly ordered via their site but I believe that you need to jump through a ton of hoops to order directly from the site...wish it was on Amiami or HLJ.

Walmart cleared out the Force Fx Kylo Ren saber for $50. Grabbed one for myself since I gave the previous one to my nephew. Didn't think it would go that low.

I had no intention of buying these at their MSRP but at these prices they're good buys.

Man, Episode II stuff seems to be getting more uncommon. You do not want to know how much I paid for this Naboo Royal Cruiser, my first in the Titanium series. Naturally, I immediately tore into and discarded the packaging, annihilating its value. I'm not usually a huge fan of die cast, but I think this one actually looks pretty good.

Star Wars Black Series Titanium 3.75" figures.

Star Wars Black Series Centerpiece Luke Skywalker figure.

Star Wars 40th Anniversary Monopoly.

Star Wars Black Series Force FX Obi-Wan Kenobi lightsaber.

That Luke is pretty neat, but that Obi-Wan ForceFX suffers a bit by not being able to replicate the skinny neck. The Episode I/II saber design works better for these I think.

I ordered some 1/6th Death Star dioramas from a great guy on the sideshow freaks forum and having partially put one together I think it looks amazing. Hopefully I'll get time this weekend to complete both sets.

First look at the Black Series 6-inch re-releases for the 40th anniversary.
X-Wing pilot Luke is getting a Celebration exclusive release: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XzgzFv2YKN4

I missed out on Han, X-Wing pilot Luke, and R2-D2, and they're all pretty pricey now, so I'm looking forward to these re-releases. I got Leia at GameStop back in December. I'm still looking for Obi-Wan, though I could just order him online...his price isn't really any higher than retail.

I'd like all of these except Han as I already own him. Love the retro packaging.

Nice boxes but not double-dip nice. Hopefully they release a TFA Luke and Leia for Celebration. And Lando is such a long time coming. Give me Billy Dee. Also Hoth Leia. You know what, I'll just send Hasbro my wish list.

According to the Toy Fair 2017 Hasbro live blog from Jedi Temple Archives, it looks like the Black Series re-release of Leia will have a new head sculpt, which was rumored for a while.

Wave 1 is Luke, Han, Leia, Obi-Wan, and R2-D2. Wave 2 is Chewbacca, C-3PO, Stormtrooper, Tusken Raider, Death Star Trooper, and Jawa. They say that Darth Vader will also come in vintage carding, but also come with a 12 figure display stand. They also mentioned a Target exclusive AT-ACT Driver. And it looks like we'll also finally be getting a Force Awakens Luke!

For the Walmart exclusive Black Series 3.75-inch line, there's Prototype Boba Fett, Sandtrooper, Tusken Raider, and Ponda Baba.

Leia's new head sculpt looks better. It might just be me but Luke looks slightly improved as well.

Looks like Kotobukiya are releasing an ArtFX+ Poe with BB-8 too. It's the first I've seen of it.

Hasbro being Hasbro. This is what a small site I've used a few times in the past, Star Action Figures, have had to say about the 40th anniversary figures.

Sorry, but once again pre-orders for certain 6 inch Star Wars figures have only lasted a few hours!

This is 100% down to the way Hasbro force retailers to buy figures that they cannot sell. I don't think they do it on purpose. I just think they are not very good at what they do in relation to case assortments.

Because Hasbro deceided now would be a good time to switch to 8 figure cases, we now have hundreds of spare Luke, Leia's and Ben's. Had they stuck with 6 figure cases, offered the 5 figures and a double packed R2-D2, everyone would have got all they wanted, and we would have maybe had a few spare R2-D2's which history shows would sell through quite quickly. As it is, R2-D2 will be rarer than rocking horse shit, and we have had to stop selling sets after just a few hours, because we cannot justify being stuck with many more hundreds of figures that hasbro have already released in the past few months!

I will not post exact figures, but we will say that the full sets outside single purchases of Luke by 13-1, Leia by 17-1 and Obi Wan by 35-1. So for every 35 sets we sold, we sold one Ben Kenobi on his own. Or in other words, for every set we sold, we nearly have a spare Luke, Leia and Ben. What makes is even worse, is for the couple of minutes R2-D2 was online, he outsold the sets by 2-1, Hasbro could not have got this more wrong, if they had tried.

Because of the frankly stupid case assortment, we have hundred of spare Lukes, Leia's and Ben's, which will sell in time, but will take months, maybe a year to shift. We sold out in 4 hours. We could have sold 3 or 4 times more that we did, but we can't because it would mean having to buy more and more Luke, Leia and Ben's to sit on the shelf. Now this stock is in big multiplies store language, is peg warmers, or in other big chain talk, CLEARANCE stock. When these peg warm and block the pegs for wave 2, someone at Hasbro will be standing there scratching their arse, wondering what went wrong. SO if Hasbro had a smallest idea what they were doing, a small site like us would have probably at least doubled our order.

Just got an email that my order of the 40th Anniversary Black Series Han Solo and R2-D2 shipped from HasbroToyShop. I ordered them on Saturday when they went up. They should be here in a few days. :)

40th anniversary Darth Vader looks so good. Gonna be getting it and it's gonna be my main display Vader until there's an updated Figuarts version (not a fan of how the current one looks).

TAJ

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
If Ben and Leia are so horribly overproduced then why have I never seen one?

SH Figuarts looks nice IMO. Just has a bit of an issue where the hair looks gold.

And that ill-advised torso articulation that makes him look like he's wearing a sports bra. They avoided this mistake with farmboy Luke and thank god for that.
And no open flap option.
And no poncho, robe, helmet or camo. To be fair Hasbro didn't do those last four.
There was a fantastic third-party poncho, but that person only made a few and stopped. You can still get robes but there's no point without the poncho. Luke never wore just the robe.

Look at this shit. So good. They used the wrong robe color, though. It's supposed to be dark brown.

The new Mafex Rogue One Vader fixes the main problems with their previous Vader, like the comically oversized shoulder armor. It's certainly far better than the existing Figuarts.
