3 and 4 on steam are the DS versions. 5 and 6 are the mobile versions. 7 upward are the original versions, or close enough at least.

Strangely there is no 1 and 2, dunno why they dont just port the psp ones tbh.

There is an S-E event later this month IIRC, maybe they'll announce something then?

Just got around to playing Warhammer Vermintide from getting it in the Humble Monthly. Very cool game. If you like Left 4 Dead than I think you will enjoy this. Not sure how much content is there, but so far I am having a good time.

Do we know when RE7 unlocks? I think the last Capcom game I bought on Steam was SFV and I was able to VPN that a day early. I feel like using a vacation day...

They should do something based on or inspired from Nihei stuff.
I want a game set in the Megastructure.

NaissancE claimed to be trying to do that, and I bought it on that premise. But the game itself really, really sucks.

that freakin' wood in dark souls 2. I died more than 20 times...to standard enemies! I go crazy every time I see a phantom because I could be one of the enemies. Well done, From Software you fuck are fucking with me great. Enough Dark Souls for today.

I Am The Hero is out now for $8.99. It looks like a neat beat 'em up.

✅ Co-op
✅ Online Co-op
✅ Controller Support
✅ Leaderboards
✅ Steam Cloud
✅ Trading Cards
✅ Cheese Mints

Checking off those boxes.

One thing that I HATE about beat em ups on steam is that they NEVER tell if the game has friendly fire (or if it can be turned off)

I really ended up thinking the phantoms turned solid in those woods and that I was being attacked by players.

It is creepy as hell too. I just rushed through the foggy part to get behind that as fast as possible only to be in an area where you hear a constant crying. I think the crying comes out of the pots that are standing there. But in the next moment a ninja goatman got with his axe and kicks.

What game is this? Textures look straight out of the PS1 era... which I kind of dig in a way.

Wasn't aware there was a 3D version. Apparently it was made for the DS then ported to Windows in 2014.

It's really disappointing to me that the framerate is hard-locked in the FF IV port. Isn't it 20fps or something? I could deal with 30 in X, but yikes...

So ports of ports?

Wait until the PC port of the mobile version of the DS remake of the SNES original is ported to the PS4. It's like homeopathy at this point; how much of the original would still be left? Eventually there'll be so little original code left that it'll erase the original from existence. That's how this works, right?

Actually, some trees have faces and I think they are the ones crying. If you hit them, it only gets worse.

The last two pics are yelling Machinarium and Gravity Rush to me.

I've played neither of those, but looking at screenshots there are some architecture similiarities, but a totally different atmosphere :p
Based off of those images, definitely. Yes.

Just a large, kind of claustrophobic cyberpunkish Blade Runner lived-in but now in the midst of becoming ruins singular city-structure with random broken people who speak in haiku.

I need to check out that guy's work.
Blame! is the one you want to read first and foremost.
NaissancE claimed to be trying to do that, and I bought it on that premise. But the game itself really, really sucks.
That's a shame. The screenshots look really, really good.

Just played about an hour and half of Power Hover (I cant imagine its very long) and its actually pretty cool, and not just because I got a free key from the gaffer. Fuck those boss levels tho ;_:

At least you dont need too high of a score to just pass them and move on but damn son :/ Also I had to switch to keyboard because my left sticm on my pad drifts a bit to the left which makes the game impossible. I actually feel that its probably better played with keys anyway.

I like it enough that im actually going for 3 stars on each level (except those boss levels, fuck that lol)

I beat it in just under 3hrs, didn't 3 star everything (did most) though and yeah the last boss level took me a while.

I guess so.
I remember liking the artstyle of this guy and reading Abara because it was short. I was utterly disappointed because I ended the manga not knowing jack shit about what happened.

Well apparently Dragonfall is completely borked on my Macbook even though Returns worked fine. Hope I can find a solution so I don't lose about an hour of playtime and also have to switch to playing it on PC.

15% off, should I get the game now or wait?

For everybody that has had the game on the wishlist for a while now and always waited for the full release, I'd like to tell you that we will raise the price for the full launch to 14,99$. This means, you should definitely get it now since it will be a little bit more expensive when fully released. And you'll get the same version anyway.

Shift happens will soon come out of Early Access.

Someone interested in over 1700 Steam achievements in less than an hour of playtime? Zup!3 is your game then.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/575640/

If I were really OCD, I would ask Steam support to remove from my library every game which has achievements.

I would just be left with Stephen's Sausage Roll, I guess.

From + sci-fi, in a new IP.

We've already seen that they can knock out Victorian/Edwardian/Georgian (Lovecraftian) atmosphere.
i really would like to see a game like dark souls design sensibilities with a third person shooter gameplay

i'm guessing it would kind of play like re4 honestly, with limited resources and constant decision making of when it's best to draw my gun and put myself in danger and all that

i also kind of want them to make a pc armored core

They should do something based on or inspired from Nihei stuff.

what's this? looks cool

The Steam equivalent of the drunk friend who keeps offering to pay your tab all night.
finished Power Hover, neat game, I enjoyed it enough to actually get 3 stars on every level. Except the boss levels, those were shit and seem to rely more on rng than actual skill. Still enjoyed it tho, thanks to Asa for the key.

Finished freedom planet over the weekend

First time playing it - can't believe I had it in my backlog for so long. Possibly my most favorite game this gen so far.

You're not wrong. Abara is probably among the weaker ones, but he has a faible for crazy, hard to comprehend incomprehensible stories.
But I just love his art to death, and bizarre settings and stories, even if I might not get half of what's going on :p
Dude studied architecture before making mangas, and it absolutely shows in his worlds.

Yes, it's Blame!, the manga.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....That is well within my wheel house.

That reading right to left is something I'll have to get over tho

not a stereotypical anime as well

hmmmmmmmmmm....

It's a pretty interesting Manga with awesome art and cool setting. Fascinating stuff overall.
There is a movie on Netflix coming this year too.

I think they assume that would never be a dealbreaker for anyone. :p

Without firendly fire in a beat em up, it's often way too effective to all stand in the same place.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
About 4 hours left: There isn't much time left to vote for this year's SteamGAF GOTY!

If your name is listed here, it means your ballot has been counted. Everyone else, get over the OP for official rules and entry instructions.

As the voting is drawing to a close soon, I figured I would go over some of the specifics. The awards ceremony will be done in this thread sometime around March TONIGHT at 7:00pm Monday Pacific time (three hours after the voting closes). I've been tallying the votes as they come in so it should be easy to have final results fairly quickly. I'm pre-building some graphics for the games I know that will more or less be in the top 10 so it should only take a few hours to put the finishing touches on everything at that time.

For those of you that haven't ever been a part of this process, I'll start with the #10 and work up to the #1 game (Ryan Seacrest / Casey Kasem top 40 style) with about 5-10 minutes between reveals to give the thread time to react and discuss. Try to speculate what's coming next or simply talk about your own experience with the revealed game. It's always been a lot of fun, so be sure you don't miss the excitement!

After the top 10 are revealed here, I'll post a thread over on gaming side with our official results showing all the games and their rankings for full discussion. DON'T MISS IT!

Slavery Type: Livestock? Bloody hell.

I do want to see just how dark they go with the purging options too. Hopefully there's an 'exile' option so we can recreate Homeworld/Battlestar Galactica.

I voted, but I'm not in the list.

EDIT: I'm stupid and didn't send the PM.

I wonder if my Stellaris save will still load OK. I don't think I've played it since right before the first big patch. My Federation was doing pretty well, too.

is that modded or did they add so much stuff already? man being away from my main computer hurts sometimes

This is a bit of stuff they're working on for the next big patch/expansion which is probably still a couple months out. They have patched in quite a bit already, though 1.5 is so far looking like the biggest yet.

So ports of ports?
Pretty much yes.
FFIV that's on Steam is straight ported from the mobile version.
The mobile version is ported from the DS version but the UI was changed so that it fit the mobile devices, this change is also seen on the PC version.
The DS version is a 3D remake version of the original SNES version, although I don't remember if it was remade with the easier difficulty that was made when the game was first released in USA or with the harder difficulty in the original Japanese release.

Wait until the PC port of the mobile version of the DS remake of the SNES original is ported to the PS4. It's like homeopathy at this point; how much of the original would still be left? I don't know how this is relevant to the topic, but there is no original code left when they remade the game into 3D version

It's actually way, way, way harder than even the original Japanese release.
