Americans chose Trump, Britians chose Brexit, who are we to say mobile gamers can't choose gatcha? I hope they make lots of money just because it means more Fire Emblem on Switch and 3DS.

Gacha AND portrait mode only? No thanks.

Nintendo is 0/0 on mobile games for me so far.
Seriously?

Super Mario Run: "zOMG it costs 10 dollars...bad business practice Nintendo, it should be f2p and then pay as we go!!"

Fire Emblem Heroes: "zOMG its f2p...bad business practice Nintendo, we shouldn't be paying as we go!!!"

There's really no end to this...
f2p =/= gacha

you can have good f2p games. gacha systems are always garbage.

This game is like the ultimate love letter to long time fans

I mean it doesn't beat actually getting the older games, but it's still a nice gesture

I think Wendy became Gwendolyn, which just blows my fucking mind

It has clothing damage, true gacha game:

Looks decent, though not something I'd drop money on the gatcha stuff for (never have for any game yet).

Hope the iOS version isn't too delayed. The early Feb date is a good one as my gaming time is pretty booked from early March on, where as I'm not big on anything out in January or February--well other than Horizon last day of the month and that will have to wait until after Zelda and Mass Effect.

That's a complete 180 from Super Mario run alright. Character gacha plus permadeath (plus weapon gacha and wear, probably) makes so much sense it's borderline evil. This will make so much goddamn money in Japan.

Personally, I won't be touching it with a ten foot pole.

Some people are going to spend thousands on these characters, there's not going to be any permadeath.

I mean it's fine that it's a gacha I guess, but why does it have to look exactly like every single gacha ever made? Why do these games all look completely identical? The battle screen in the only way I'd be able to distinguish this from every other Final Fantasy, Granblue, Brsvest whatever game.
it's not a grizzled old guy telling at me, no chance in the Western market.

If Galaxy Of Heroes is any indication, I'll play a ton of it until I actually get the characters I played a ton of it to get, and then get bored and stop playing.

Woohoo, Android first.
That's what ye get, SMR buying boyos.

Many games launch on Android first nowadays. SMR was an exception.

The reason for this is that Android users are much, much less likely to make any kind of payment for a game, what so ever.

When you launch your game, there will undoubtedly be problems that you did not see in testing. Sometimes these problems can be significant and can negatively effect your userbase. That's why it's better to launch on the platform you stand the least to loose on.

The financial impact of "fucking up" on Android is significantly less than on iOS, so you launch on Android first to iron out the kinks, and then launch on iOS once the game is field tested, good and ready to go.

Sorry to burst your bubble :)

Was I the only one surprised the choose your legends is literally going through every FE game and character and not just a few main characters? Voted PoR Ike for my first one (I have to wonder if radiant dawn Ike is counted separately since it looks like he is)

As much as I don't like Gatcha, this looks decent to me. Looking forward to trying it, personally. Like the art as well. Sign me up.

Surprised Android is releasing first. But happy, for that is what I have!

They said the characters than win the popularity vote will also get featured in FE Warriors right? Nephenee it is then. Sword users can take a backseat.

Voting Owain for 7 days, Odin for 6.

if people expected anything but a gatcha game like gbf/fgo for this fire emblem mobile title then i dont know what to tell you because its the most obvious fit in the world

We're still waiting on Super Mario Run :(
Wait, Android still doesn't have Mario Run? Damn.

If I have to wait two months to play Fire Emblem on the iOS (especially since there's actually progression in this one, with event units, character leveling, etc.) I'm going to be upset.

This definitely falls under the, "I'm glad this will be a revenue stream so Nintendo can do their own thing in other places," category for me.

Maybe it'll turn out well, but I'm not personally a fan of pretty much any of it.

Fire emblem could work well on mobile.

That being said, I really hope someone figures out a successful business model other than f2p gatcha and it becomes popular. For me, I don't have enough time to play more than one of these types of games vs a traditional game --- I started Granblue and don't really play PAD anymore, it just takes SO long to progress without paying up. Especially if you are obsessive and have a tendency to whale and need to fight against said tendency.

I'm playing this for sure. I have an android phone to so I won't have to wait like Mario Run. Yes!!! There is so much damn Fire Emblem coming out and I'm not even done with all of the Fates series.

Gacha emblem here we go!

I'll be honest, the trailer isn't that great a look and the game itself looks awfully simplistic compared to some of the more advanced mobile RPG peers, even though I can see where they are trying to go with a bite size FE experience. It's a little underwhelming in how predictable it ended up looking. There's still more to the systems and the unmentioned PVP based on what we've seen, so maybe the game might surprise me yet.

Play with an android emulator and link your Nintendo Account, done!
