Nintendo revives PSP style interior box art for Switch and it is gorgeous

The PS3 had transparent cases, too. PS4's are translucent. Here's the inner art for the PS3 and PS4 versions of The Last Of Us:

Came to post this. Almost all (if not literally all) first-party PS3 games had reversible covers, and some third-party games as well. I just checked Uncharted 4 and it has a reversible cover too.

People really can't help themselves from immediately jumping to the "Can't wait for Nintendo to fuck it up" shit posting, huh?

it's not shitposting when it's been proven by reality.

when was the last time we got a better box than japan from Nintendo?

Nintendo has to prove they're willing to give the west the same goodies as japan to stop people from thinking this first.

I haven't been keeping up with box art or anything, but I like that Bomberman one and if NoA swap it for some bullshit I'm gonna be pissed

This thread makes me want to grab out my old copy of Lumines on the PSP.

Those Switch boxes are shinin' shinin' shinin'...

I wish someone would revive the card/paperboard boxes. :(
But going PSP style is awesome, even though I have no interest in Switch.

I have no idea how I forgot that. Not all of the games used that did they?

On the PS3, it was mostly just first party games, with some 3rd party publishers also doing it. Not all publishers did it on the PSP either, really. On PS4 most games just have the legal information like warranty stuff. First party games seem to still do it, though Knack just shows the controls.

That extra weight from the cart and plastic holder is nothing.
It's still a good design choice at it gets the art and manual info a better viewing window.

edit: hehe, caught the before the edit

lol i didn't see the manual clip before that so I assumed that could be the only reason

What does NOA have to do with a Konami game.

Not much, I suppose, but I'm sure you're intelligent enough to know that wasn't my point.

I'm sitting in a movie theater vestibule absent-mindedly browsing GAF, and I substituted the developer/publisher(?) of the game for the company that manufactures the system. I sincerely apologize for that, though I'll emphasize that I'll be disappointed if Konami/Nintendo/Naughty Dog/Kojima/anyone alters that lovely cover art.

God dammit, I love Nintendo. Please please come to NA like that.

I'm not even into Bomber man but I might want to buy it for the packaging alone. What the fuck is wrong with me?

Looks fucking awesome.... when did companies forget about how special physical media used to be? I'm looking at you Vita.

The red box feels a bit off.

They should work on some sort of minimalist layer to place the Switch logo. The PSP still looks better with the layer

PS3 did this as well. Shame not every publisher used it and many stopped towards the end of the gen with very few carrying it to PS4 choosing to screw physical packaging in general.

Should be standard across all platforms. With manuals dodo'ed it gives us at least one really nice art piece (hopefully) for each game.

Wish the red square had a rounded corner. Otherwise it looks like someone jammed a sticker up in the corner to me and called it a day. I like the thinness though.

Not sure where to ask this, but does anyone know where I can find the case template for the NS and Wii U? I want to do a couple of mockup cases.
