Everyone here sucks at noticing people. What the hell there was like 50 people there.

And that Rick smile. Probably recruit them for the Saviors .

Ok so they split up the group again but at least it doesn't look like they are solely focusing on Darryl in the kingdom, and at least group a and group b and not so fractured.

Either Gabriel has been a double agent and always a member of this group. Or he made a deal with them that he will give them tons of food and some weapons if they join Rick's fight.

Just want Gabe to continue to be cool.

I'm confused at the transition from the boat to where they end up by the end of the episode. Admittedly, I wasn't watching fully during the dialogue between Aaron and what's his face so maybe I missed something.

Michonne and Rick found boot tracks (Gabriel's?) that led them there.

I've said it many times before but a really good soundtrack can elevate any TV show, movie, or videogame experience.

I thought tonight's episode was really good and if they can keep up the tense, epic feel of amassing an army to take out Negan then I think this second half of the season could be really special.

About Gabriel, did no one see that head pop up from the passenger seat as Gabriel was driving away? I saw it plain as day.

Just popping in to say that that was a really great episode. I liked the group finally getting to The Kingdom and meeting Ezekiel, the ending with that new group & Rick throwing on that smile, and of course that sick set piece with the wire and walkers on the highway. That tension and payoff, so good.

Yep, I stared at the car driving away and just before the title starts I saw someone's head pop up. I was looking at Gabriel hard driving away because I couldn't believe what he was doing, I was pissed lol!

That highway scene was legendary.

Also, best believe Gregory is going to eventually tell the Saviors about Rick's plan to try and save his own ass once he finds out his town wants to fight.

What is this madness, a Walking Dead episode with good pacing?! Sorcery! The highway scene was great, as was McCreary's score. I was surprised that I did have a few laughs this episode, especially with Gregory (still perfect casting), Jesus/Rick/Shiva, and Rick/Daryl/Daryl's trademark glare. So glad Tom Payne got the time to grow a beard for Jesus, he looks so much better. Holy shit at Aaron and Eric actually interacting with prolonged dialogue, and with a scene fairly close to the comics no less! I loved the scene, too, because both Eric and Aaron made good points about Negan, The Saviors, and Rick. They have a great dynamic together, so it would be nice - oh, I don't know - to see them actually interacting on a regular basis.

I still can't get over how much Steve Ogg should be playing Negan, he keeps completely stealing the show. He knows how to chew scenery, but not overdo it. His dialogue is great, too. Meanwhile, the writing on Negan + JDM is just fucking excruciating. I'm not sure how they're doing such a great job with Simon's dialogue, yet Negan's monologues always leave me reaching for the fast forward button.

Not sure how the new non-comic group will go, as the show already has a lot of bloat, but Rick's FUCK YES grin made it worth it.

Comic spoilers foreshadowing for the episode:
The Morgan/Negan/cell thing was a nice call forward, I do like how they've incorporated Morgan's storyline into that. The Aaron and Eric scene doesn't give me high hopes for Eric's future, sigh, but I always thought it was a waste that they never delved into the fact that if Aaron hadn't stayed for Rick and co, Eric might still be alive. Maybe the show will go into it more. Live, Eric! Liiiiiiive!

They're just pushing Negan too hard. It feels like an edgelord's wet dream. I think if they weren't doing some of the extra shit that wasn't in the comic, the things that just plain border on torture, it would have all been a little better. Not so heavy.

But I like this idea about Ogg. It hadn't occurred to me before, but it's brilliant, even if I don't think it's JDM's fault.
