Me too, I'm everyday browsing gaf, reddit, checking youtube videos... just hoping for more info, more impressions.

Today was a good day, though, raakt glad we got to see the UI so "early"! :D

Good point, I guess the Switch really is totally irrelevant to me then :)

Lol at the "oooh oh snap!", Nintendo fans are another level of cringe.

Anyway, I am getting more and more excited with each passing day. I booked a room in Nagoya and will try to get one at launch in Japan, I am so happy its region free.

Getting back to the preorder canceling, on top of Horizon and Mass Effect, I just realized there's a bunch of DLC shit in March for me too that I already have through season passes. Dark Souls 3 2nd DLC, first FFXV episode, Walking Dead S3 Episode 3, maybe the RE7 story DLC (I don't remember when that hits PC) etc.

Such a busy month, I'll miss Zelda, but just too much I want to play more/have already paid for. I'll get through that and then reassess whether it's time to buy a Switch or just play Zelda on Wii U.

Nope. Just relieved to have it canceled and not have to waste mental energy waffling about it anymore and remembering shit I need/want to play on platforms I already own that I forgot about due to focusing on Switch launch. :D

I did the same thing with PS4 and launch an canceling a couple weeks before. I think I'm just done with day one hype for consoles. I'm always behind on games so it makes since to focus on those and wait for the first decent price drop/bundle/retailer offer a while after launch and leave the day one units to those super excited to get one.

Day one hype is the best hype though!

I'm pretty critical on the controller at least. With transforming the controller for two people, it feels like because they do that, you get a inferior controller.

You get two, I get that, but in a flawed way. Personally, I'm not a fan of this, I would've preferred a solid controller because a controller is everything for games. The fact that I have to go buy something else for a proper experience with 2D games is not worth the two sub optimal controllers for me.

I hate most things about it but I was stupid enough to buy a wii u so I might as well keep the bad decision train rolling

At least this time I'll get a fire emblem out of it

Agreed. I had a pro controller preordered as well, so that was another $70 plus tax.

There were just too many little things like that, along with the big one of really being a portable more than a console (and I'm not into portables), that just made the asking price too high for me the longer I thought about it.

If this was the same or similar power as it is now, but just a console with the pro controller packed in for say $250, I'd be there still even with all the other shit I have to play on other platforms the next couple of months.

$300 hybrid that I'd really only use as a console and also want the $70 pro controller? Nah, I was dumb to preorder and will wait for price drops/deals and to make sure there are enough must play games for it to be worth it for me.

Should be a great product for many others though. Especially those wanting to use it on TV and as a portable regularly, and those stoked to get console-level Nintendo games on a portable.

You know, before the system was revealed, I said I just couldn't see how they could effectively pull detachable controllers off. I thought it would be a waste to do it just for local multiplayer on the go. But man, I gotta say, it seems like they pulled it off pretty well. There's a lot of functionality there.

Joy-cons look sweet. An evolution of the Wiimote and nunchuck.

I actually don't mind that they separate, I'm just disappointed at the lack of a DPad. If the Joy Cons were just designed for one person in mind and with a DPad, I'd be okay with it.

Was hoping something else besides Zelda would justify the preorder between then and launch day. However there hasn't really been much good news since then. Not even Wii U or 3DS ports. Don't get me wrong, Zelda is almost worth it, but it's still hard to justify an entire console purchase for just one game. I'm probably going to cancel the preorder and wait until more games are available.

Was excited since the unveiling.

This site has been open in a tab on my browser since I got my pre-order in:

I haven't been this excited for a system since the Super Nintendo.

That said...

Seriously Nintendo. Get it together. Do a direct or something. So many unanswered questions...

I cancelled it. I'm not a big fan of Zelda and I don't want to buy it yet for a game that I don't really care for. The device itself still excites me very much and I'll prolly join the fun when they released a few more games.

I'm not happy with the Switch. There's so much about it that drives me insane. But I want it/the games enough that, when considering my tax refund is the only time of year I can buy it, I will keep my pre-order. I can just hope that the system gains tons of functionality over the next year or so.

My life situation changed and I had to cancel my Switch preorder due to not really having enough money.

Honestly I have such a huge WiiU backlog that only if the Switch was backward compatible could I justify the cost.

Imma gonna wait until Mother 3 is announced before I consider getting a Switch again.

I'm happy for those getting one though. Have fun!

Hip-hop, you can simultaneously start and put out a million internet fires by getting the details of the internal components; pictures, chipworks, etc. Feel the power consume you!

UNLIMITED POWER!
Sell it to ifix it for a tear down... or should we all chip in and buy it and send it to chip works? Can't wait to pretend I know how to analyze a die photo lol...

I'm excited about Zelda and the Switch, no question (and I have both pre-ordered).

My only hesitation is now that I just have SO MANY other games to keep me occupied during that timeframe (Horizon, Prey, still haven't gotten Yakuza 0 or Gravity Rush 2) that I could easily wait 6 months before getting a Switch and be playing great games that entire time.

But then again, I know myself... I know that when March 3rd hits, I'll regret not being able to part of the excitement and fun on GAF during launch, and I'll end up regretting not getting one at launch, so yeah, fuck it I'm in. 😂

I cancelled my Neon Amazon order today and then kept the cheaper Amazon.jp Neon order, so it balances out. I'm still not sure whether I will still get it.

Just got the 200GB Sandisk Ultra from Walmart, if you apply their 15% off code the card is only $65. Not bad and will probably last me the entire lifespan.

I still feel like I have dozens of unanswered questions... mostly about the lineup and eshop and VC, so I am still a bit annoyed about the whole thing.

Have there been any good HD Rumble impressions? Outside of 1-2 Switch, mainly? Does the rumble work as well if the joycons are connected to the screen?

The good thing is I am flying to Japan less than 12 hours after I get my Switch, so I can't help but feel excited. Perfect test case for the system!

I feel the same. I wasn't following nx or switch news very closely but I saw the reveal event and became very excited and optimistic for the switch. I was surprised at the incredibly negative reaction on gaf, but I took it as a sign of general interest here. In the weeks since there has been more time to reflect on the basic info and consider the scraps of new info. I have not changed my mind. Between what I personally want, what I imagine potential users at large want, and what Nintendo presumably wants; switch gets everything right.

I don't. I didn't preorder for various reasons and they haven't changed. It has a very limited lineup of games.

By the time I'm sick of Zelda, Mario will be out.

I think I'm okay with it. I still think it's a weak lineup, but I'm keeping my pre-order.
