Multiple players per Switch with Multiple Switches possible (Bomberman setups)

Sorry for the mouthful of a title but I thought this was of interest to people outside of those interested in Bomberman.

It seems you have four Switches set up with two players each for 8 players total.

I thought we knew this already. Cool stuff nonetheless!

Edit: Will this have some sort of Download Single Card play like the DS used to have?

I wonder if it also means you could also do something like having 2 Switch consoles with 4 players on each? Just that it's "up to" 4 Switch consoles max?

I didn't even know it had 8 players matches, I'm avoiding all Bomberman R thread because it makes me so impatient!
Can't wait!

So 3-player Mario Kart 8 with 2 Switches confirmed?

- 1 Guy on a Handheld Switch?
- 2 Guys on a Docked Switch?

Actually, can we get confirmation you can mix and match set-ups?

There shouldn't be any reason why you can't, and that really excites me. The system should be communicating the same either way.

Heh for one second I thought you meant wii u style streaming to TV, would've been so cool.

8 player bomberman. Never played it, only 4 player on SNES with friends back in the day and it was awesome.

Holy crap at the price of buying all that hardware though if your friends don't have switches...

80 * 3 = $240

and then at least one charging grip thing at $30

Game - $40
Switch - $300

$610 before tax. Man that's a lot of dough

Why stop there? You can feasibly do 64-player setups with eight Joy-Cons per Switch.

But why stop there!? If every switch can have 8 players, then we should be able to enjoy 8^n multiplayer action! I can't wait to play Bomberman with my 2.037036e+90 friends!

8 players on one switch too

That's like a dream come true except for the price tag. What makes it even more appealing is that this is perfect pick up and play for local multiplayer which A LOT of indie PC games could benefit from.

Gang Beasts, Overcooked, Towerclimb etc. etc.

Just for comparison purposes, if you wanted to do this with a Xbox One (if Bomberman R was coming out for it) you'd need 7 controllers.

Game: $40
console: $250
7 * 60: $420

$710, before tax. People kinda overlook this...

Dont Joycons only have 4 leds for each player?, weird that they allow 8 per console.

I swear on the Wii or bluetooth PC you could hook up more than 4 Wii remotes, it would have LEDs 1-2, 1-3, 1-4 lit or something to that effect for more than 4. I could be wrong though, last time I used a Wii/Wii remote was what felt like forever ago. I remember standing in front of target for that launch along with others who wanted a PS3

I'm still hoping for Mario Kart to allow 4 player split-screen on the TV and then other Switch units to join in locally.

I loved how Sonic Racing Transformed on Wii U allowed for a fifth player on the Gamepad and was disappointed Mario Kart 8 didn't.
