Wait reviews are Monday? dang, last games I could remember that had that big of a gap between reviews and release date was Bayonetta 2 and Mario Kart 8.

looking forward to the reading.

Kazuo Hirai

I really want everyone to know how much more Titanfall 2 sold than Nioh. It was a staggering amount.

Enough time to get those reviews in the marketing materials. Sony is pretty confident.

That's a bigger gap than Uncharted 4

You forgot... The Witcher 3.

All games I didn't play becuase I don't have a PS4(told myself I won't until KH3 or FFVII R comes out...lol). My cousin owns the PS4, we play games together and I'm buying Horizon for him because its sounds like a Open World game we can actually finish together and enjoy (Also late birthday gift).

We played multiple open world games and we only enjoyed one. Watch Dogs. The stronger focus on action might get him interested, I know the Dinobots will.

Also, Yeah I'm hoping some games will continue this trend of having earlier embargos. Although Mario Kart 8 was a bit overkill. That was 15 days lol.

What kind of differences does Very Hard have from Hard? Just damage increases, or does it change enemy behaviour too? I don't think I've seen anyone playing on Very Hard.

Miamiwesker is playing on very hard, I believe he said that damage increases and less materials to gather. Also I think he said that there is a change in behavior from normal to hard, but not a change from hard to very hard.

So hard difficulty seems like the best overall difficulty to play on then.

Here's MiamiWesker's impression on the difficulty.

Ok I tested difficulty modes with the same save doing the same things. It seems to only change some stats. So on very hard when you gather herbs you get 7% or 14% depending on the roll. On hard it's 9% or 18%, on normal it's 12% or 24%.

Enemies change damage depending on difficulty. So a light melee attack on a scrapper on very hard is 28 damage, on hard it's 32 and on normal its 37. Heavy attack is 68 on v hard, 78 on hard and in the 80s for normal. A scrapper lunge attack on v hard takes two whole bars of life, on hard it's a bar and a half and on normal it's one bar. All attacks scale about the same way. I can't tell this for certain but it seems to me that on normal enemies are less agreesive and don't notice you as much. On hard and v hard I can't really tell the difference on their behavior. They don't seem to stun or lose parts of their bodies any more or less due to difficulty.

There are no changes at all to the amount of enemies, the amount of loot, exp gained, and resource gathering outside the herbs. The requirements to create objects do not change. The difficulty can be switched on the fly and the stats all change accordingly, so I believe it's nothing more than a stat adjustment.

Oh and I tested the robot taking loot thing, once they take itbits gone, they don't carry it. This maybe a scrapper only thing as that's what they are designed for, gathering scraps. A watcher did not take the loot of it's dead partner.

I'm a bit worried about enemy variety as it seems like only a handful of machines are actually in the game just going by what has been shown/talked about so far. I'm hoping they are keeping a lot of enemy types secret because if not I could see it getting fairly tedious.

I've been avoiding all the footage they've been showing because of this. Even if there is variety, I feel like they've already shown too much. For me the most exciting part was seeing all the cool creatures so I would much rather experience that in the game itself

Impressions seem good. Pretty much what I expected so I'm happy. Excited to play this

They got a very good template for a franchise. I think for a sequel they should really do more with melee combat the bow still needs to be the main weapon but just more weapon variety like swords etc.

This shot is unbelievable.

I want a stamina bar. Also conditional effects like poison, panic, enraged, etc? That would be a nice addition. Unless that's already in the game

Man the stuff happening at the end of the intro area had me super pumped and the story drops. My lawd. I'll have some more screenshots to post come tommorrow.

Heshinsi

"playing" dumb? unpossible
No as in the information they drop. Super interesting. As for Aloy. Yep she is pretty awesome.

Thanks for all your impressions bud.

That screen shot makes me think of Stranger Things lol. I'm half expecting an alien to emerge from out of that spotlight.

The meltdown in the leaked Engadget review is real. OMG. And it's not even Monday yet. LOL I'm avoiding that thread now considering how toxic it is.

I don't want stamina bar, but I would like them to limit Aloy's dodge roll Bayonetta style

You upgrade if you want additional continuous roll.

From watching the gameplay posted here by Gaffers. It seems like the roll is very important. Considering how much the creatures charge you. Plus all the other attacks they have.

They all cause salty tears?

As far as I remember, not really. There's something about Horizon that draws everyone in.

Yeah, it is. From actual gameplay footage videos that I've seen, you're actually going to roll a lot in Horizon.

We had a ' predict a score for this game tread' and I remember I thought it would avg around, 7.5-8. Has anyone's opinions changed from reading this thread or for those who've managed to play it. What would be your update score?

Went from 80-85 to 85-87 now.

I'm not sure why people seem to want this game to fail. It's pretty cool to see a Developer like GG to step way out of their comfort zone.

And for their first rodeo seems like they knocked it out of the park.

I'm gonna go with around 90. The only thing that's pretty much annoyed me with this game is the facial animations. I just can't get used to it.

I think the MGSV comparison was in terms of how you could approach different outposts, not the enemy AI. Unless you disagree with that as well.

It's assassins creed, it's a small area with dumb guards walking around. The one I did was just a place you have seen a million times in games. Not even close to the amazing level design MGSV had.
