Well I'm prepared for the VC to get even worse on Switch. Please prove me wrong Nintendo with a huge launch of the service.
I'm confused. Do you have to buy both Shovel Knights, or is it still one game with free dlc?
No, they are their own thing.I still have some points on the Wii eshop. Does that count as part of this linked wallet? Probably not (lol)
World of Goo is a physical release? This makes up for the lack of Binding of Isaac I suppose.
I'm just thrilled that both of these games can showcase one of the main features of the Switch, the detachable Joy-Cons.
So now at launch I'm getting:
- Zelda
- 1 2 Switch
- Bomberman
- Fast RMX
- Shovel Knight
- World of Goo
- Little Inferno
Yikes may have to cut one or two.
World of Goo is a physical release?
Wii didn't use the eShop, so unfortunately it won't count.I still have some points on the Wii eshop. Does that count as part of this linked wallet? Probably not (lol)
Lack of VC at launch is really disappointing. But Fast RMX and Shovel Knight at launch is great news.
@patrickklepek
As if there weren't enough indicators the Switch is being rushed out as soon as possible.
Do I have to rebuy Shovel Knight if I own the Wii U edition? I probably won't bother if so, the second campaign add-on wasn't for me.
Are we wure World of Goo is still day one? Not clear with this press release. No, only the first three out of that list are physical. The World of Goo dev is releasing all three of their games on the Switch eshop at launch.
Yeesh, that's harsh.

for launch means DAY 1??? march 3rd??

I just don't understand why Nintendo's the only company to get derided over not having a feature previous consoles of theres had at launch. It sucks, I'd love the VC to be there but it just reeks of a double standard. Why weren't Sony and Microsoft given shit for not having any form of backwards compatability or digital classics purchasing at their respective launches?
Yeah, here's an article about it.
Shovel knight is just the base game right? I'm assuming Spector of Torment is not till later.
...maybe even portable Xenoblade Chronicles?
I bet it launches around June if Arms is May and Splatoon is August. Is it fair to say that the Virtual Console will launch in the fall with Nintendo's paid subscription service?
Happy about Fast RMX being there at launch.
Really wanted VC at launch so I could finally have a Nintendo Retro tablet, but I'll be too busy playing Zelda to care, honestly.
Good point. No PS1 classics = PS4 being rushed to launch? Didn't see a single soul suggest anything like that.
Oh snap! Guess I'm double dipping. ThanksNah it's everything
Yeah playing Chrono Trigger or Mother 3 will be horrible on Switch because there is no dead. Not to mention that everyone interested in VC games that really need a dpad will likely own a Pro Controller down the line.A retro tablet without a d-pad? What's the point?
This makes up for the lack of Binding of Isaac I suppose.

Edit: One question - I can buy Specter of Torment standalone or Treasure Trove, which includes Specter of Torment?
HOW THE FUCK DO YOU NOT HAVE A SERVICE YOU'VE BEEN RUNNING FOR 10+ YEARS READY AT LAUNCH
Well, at least I'm one of the few people who hasn't touched Shovel Knight on any other platform before, so that'll be a nice launch game.
Is shovel knight coop ?
I'd hope they're improving the service further before they relaunch it tbh.
