EDGE played it apparently on a loaned (?) hardware from Nintendo UK. EDGE is something special and everyone who's downplaying them can go eat a handful of sand and then poop it out painfully.

If they wanted to mention both games, I'd hope for a more detailed comparison. They're doing completely different things in the open world RPG genre. One is in the realm of TW3 but actually has great combat, and one is focused on providing a sandbox experience. What that reviewer mentioned should be obvious when you're dealing with the kind of physics you see in BOTW.

I cut the quote a little short, here's the full paragraph:
"Having just completed it, we couldn't help but think of Horizon Zero Dawn while playing Breath Of The Wild, and how simplistic it now seems compared to Zelda. You also have a bow in Breath Of The Wild, but you have to account for how arrows arc through the air, rather than it just acting like a low-tech sniper rifle. I think what they mean is you can do more with Zelda, the sand box and gameplay mechanics are more open. I don't think that's a criticism on Horizon's front because that's not really what the game is about.

No idea. But have you never said that a game is a 10/10 before completion? In my opinion you know what you want to score a game after just a few hours, especially if it's a 10 because those games just oozes of quality from the very start. I knew Uncharted 4 was a 10 after like 1 hour, maybe 5 hours of Witcher 3, probably 2 hours of Skyrim. I've gamed since the early 80s and I don't think I've ever played a great game that turned bad by the end, not even Mass Effect 3.

I don't understand this train of thought. A review isn't supposed to be a result of your gut feeling after seeing a portion of the game. It should be based on as many hours of playtime as possible. Imo all reviews should also include information for the viewers telling them if the reviewer has finished the game and how many hours he's spent with it. That way you can fully trust their professionalism.

(I'm not saying that this is the case here, just responding to the post)

You know, I get it. Sometimes I see people praising a game and I just don't see it. GTAIV is a prime example of that. Dark Souls 1 and even Bloodborne fall into that. But the entire idea of "I don't like GTAIV so Bloodborne's 10 is meaningless"... It's just childish and stupid.

Is that enough time by Saturday morning to play through, analyse and write a review of Zelda and objectively come to that '10' review score?

I think they have a special arrangement with Nintendo. I mean, they are the only one who can post a review score already as well.
