Inspired by some of you, here is my ghetto mod.
what if we all start scratching our screens......because all of the panic this thread has caused, has us putting stuff inside our docks that wasn't intended....creating less space and more unintended resistance.
That's the thing, we don't know and can't be sure from a photo, through our monitors. There's so many variables involved that it's just not an accurate means of testing.Ah, okay. Finally saw the image. I'll compare mine with my sister's and see if our are the same or different. We want the one on the top in the image, right?
Many IPads, iPhones, and IMacs have the yellow screen issue, and have for years. Big threads on MacRumors about it. It usually is most noticeable while looking at a light grey background. One side of the screen will appear more "yellow" than the other side.Is it normal that some screens come with a yellow tint to it? really?
The only other device I had this problem with was the 3DS.
Wont thw qhite foam from the box scratch it too?

3ds all over again? Hopefully someone will come up with a solution
Wait 3DS?
My N3DS doesn't look scratchy yet but I should get one then.
I went the easy way, just cut the white foam from the box and just applied it on the screen while I slided the Switch in the dock.
No need for tape, I'll just stop using it once I get my tempered glass.
Feels like OG 3DS days.
It felt a bit tighter, of course, but it seems alright so far.Is it a pretty tight fit? I feel like my ridge is extremely close to the screen, I did what you have done for now until my screen protector comes in like two weeks.
Blunty already scratched his, this is the first real news of a youtuber I trust of dock scratching the screen :/

The funnier thing is the dock costs $90.
Are you serious? It's like a bunch of plastic and some USB/hdmi hookups lol
the pro controller is like 80 bucks
Coming across this thread i got a picture in my head of a dock that doesnt cover the screen, so im thinking of cutting the front half of the dock when i eventually pick up my switch. The mental image of this looks pretty cool.

I have a plastic screen protector to put on, the one comes with the official case. Can I later remove it and upgrade to a glass one?
Yes, of course.

I'm actually on my way out now to buy some Velcro strips so I can use the soft sides to line those plastic guides. I still don't understand how something like this happens though, it's the primary function of the console so how does engineering miss something so basic?
It got scratched through the foam?So I docked my Switch ONCE and I already managed to get some scratches (I had the foam on it that came with the box). It's all on the bezel though.
I assumed so, my worry was residue left behind.
It got scratched through the foam?
Put on tempered glass, but the switch doesn't seem to fit all too well in the dock anymore. Anybody else has the same problem? I used the Big Ben 9H tempered glass.
It includes the $30 powerbrick, HDMI cable, and the internals are those of a USB-C hub with HDMI, 3 USB-A ports (supposedly one can be USB 3.0) and USB-C power passthrough, more or less like this one.
Yeah stuff is a bit expensive still but of course they are also banking on the fact they have locked the HDMI out with proprietary tech, so they have the monopoly.

Is your dock completely straight? How thick is the tempered glass? I tried to find a spec sheet here but couldn't.
