FAST RMX |OT| Gotta Go FAST

My Zelda got delayed until Monday so I thought about buying this from the estore, however I didn't see how much memory it takes up? I have snipperclippers also and will need to be able to download the botw patch. This game won't hog the entire hard drive will it?

Edit: Nevermind. No it will not..

This poster pulses with an appeal so broad the typical restraints of our societies fall by the wayside.

I think it's around 900mb.

Is this game worth it if I'm not a massive racing game fan but I'm just looking for something to play other than BotW and also something that lets me experience HD rumble? It's either this or snipper clips.

Yoooo this game is dope. I always seem to get a racer as my second game on Nintendo consoles, so this filled that important niche for me.

Let's hope... it is REALLY demanding on PC.

That could be due to dynamic resolution? instead of dropping frames, the resolution will scale back when it gets too demanding for 1080p

I honestly think it might be doing some temporal reprojection or something. It DEFINITELY never looks native 1080p, even when standing still. Sometimes it looks really rough. I doing there's any AA either.

So, is it "Fast RMX", "FAST RMX", or "FAST rmx"? I've seen it typed either way all over the place and the logo is actually the last one, a reverse of the common first one, haha.

F-Zero SNES/X/GX > Waverace 64/Blue Storm > Mario Kart 64/DD/DS/7/8 > Motorstorm 1/2/3 > Wipeout HD > Rad Racer > Outrun > Drive Club > Ridge Racer 3DS/PSP > Mod Nation Racers > Dirt 2/3 > Wipeout 2048 > Fast RMX > Ridge Racer Vita > Sonic All Stars > Xtreme G > LBP Racing > Forza Horizon 2/3 > Burnout Paradise > Need for Speed Underground
This made me not buy it. Need a demo now.

Some thoughts after about 5 hours of play:

Easier than the Wii U version by a lot. Or at least the first difficulty is a lot more tolerable! 3 tracks per cup also lends to a quicker play session which is good. Crashes don't screw you over this time. Actually (and this is bad) one time I crashed and ended up spawning in a better position. Much less frustrating to start out which means I'll probably play it more.

I didn't have the Wii U DLC so I'm unsure which tracks are brand new. The new-to-me ones are pretty interesting though.

Online is fun but too basic. I don't think you can add and race friends. I liked the online stats from the Wii U version where it would show you a rank for your time in championship mode. Sucks that they took that out.

Also, no time trial mode? Why?

The game looks good at high speeds but there are some jaggies I could do without. Not sure what the AA situation is in this game.

Get Snipperclips. No HD rumble but this is not for you unless you're into hard ass balls high speed racing.

The series is called FAST.

It's FAST RMX on the official sites. http://fast.shinen.com/rmx/

Ah, I was wondering what they were talking about it. I wonder why it was removed. Personally, I don't care about Time Trial modes, but I can understand why some love them.

it's in the review:

Warum gibt es in Fast RMX keine Zeitrennen, obwohl sie in Fast Racing Neo vorhanden sind?

Wir haben bei Shin'en nachgefragt. Die Antwort: Sie haben es nicht in die zum Verkaufsstart erhältliche Version geschafft.

Mehr konnten uns die Entwickler auch auf Nachfrage nicht mitteilen - ihre Formulierung weckt allerdings die Hoffnung, dass Zeitrennen später noch hinzukommen.

Translation:
Why is there no time trial when it was in FRN?

We asked Shin'en. The response: it didn't make it in time for release.

They couldn't tell us anything beyond that. However, their wording makes us hope time trials will be added in later.

This game is amazing.

Expected way more visually though. But as a game I'm loving it. Currently addicted to online matches.

Well, it would look native 1080p while standing still with temporal reprojection.

I'm starting to like the game a bit more. Still though, my least favorite thing by far is the phase switching. It just isn't fun. I'd rather it just be about the racing and boosting.

It could just be sub 1080p a lot of the time. Or maybe you have the chromatic splitting on.

True but Shin'en says it's 1080p, and if it doesn't even look 1080p while standing still, I'd have to imagine it's some kind of "1080pr" type of thing.

I thought it was uncessary at first but it grew on me. It adds a technical gameplay element, it's rewarding and I like that now.

This game is awesome. What a fantastic launch title for the Switch eShop. It moves so nicely and looks great. I like the sound, too. I always wanted to pick it up for Wii U, but just never got around to it, so I'm pretty happy to finally get the chance with RMX.

Fantastic pickup and play title. With each cup consisting of three tracks, it's great for a 15 minute session. Alternatively, Hero mode consists of a single race, which is perfect when you have a few minutes to kill. Great showpiece for the Switch.

Great game.

The handling seems less floaty than on the WiiU. I'm hitting the walls way less in this version. And I was able to stay on track all through Sunahara Desert, which I rarely could before. Might possibly be the vehicle that I'm using. It wasn't in the original. I'm also struggling less with collecting the orbs. So far, I haven't seen any instances of rubber-banding, but it may still exist.

Can't believe it was made by like 6 people. Amazing

I'm really bad at this game, but I don't play many fast racers like this. Somehow I still seem to do pretty well in the first mode though.

Also thank you Shin'en for letting us turn off chromic aberration. The "blurry" graphics were distracting me and I noticed it was CA. Turned it off and the game overall looks a lot cleaner.

Was wondering about that setting as people here hate that.
Thanks for the heads up.

It is 20 bucks .

This game is absolutely worth it. Should have been physical and received more press. I have been paying this for the last 2 days, and I have not touched Zelda yet.

Woops I said the amount I paid for the eshop codes lol. I'll give it more time. Zelda is a lot of fun. Try it.

I really like the Hero mode.. having your boost take your health away adds a lot to the tension of the races

I am pissed , I bought this game yesterday and now I can't see it on my digital library on the switch eShop account. What if I have to redownload later ? What the hell?

Do games show for anyone? When I check my account on the eShop for 'Redownload Software' none of the stuff I downloaded shows. I figure it was like that because it is on the system memory.

I deleted Shovel Knight just to test it (small download for a fast test), after deleting the game it shows up in the redownload section of the eshop. So it looks like games already downloaded onto the Switch won't show up.
