It's weird, I find myself treating my imaginary horse as if it's kind of real. Before I get to a exp spot I tie it up in a safe spot, then pet it before I head off. What is happening to me? I don't pay attention to the dog pet though, so maybe I just don't want it to die (1 death), and I think petting it help raise it's stats.

I've been reluctant to activate those value packages. I wonder if there's a good, optimal time to use them. I probably won't this week since I have people visiting, but I'll start with the 7 day pack you get for free when I do. So far I don't feel like I need them though, but I'm on the fast exp server still.

Eggs Benedict is currently ranked 6th 5th in weekly top downloads for Sorceress in the Beauty Shop!

It all adds up to give you super exp boosts!

To be honest, it is a it of a waste if you aren't actively playing. Currently I'm mostly fishing since I have heaps of house work to do (moving).

But the packs are cheap, 8-10m silver range. It is just annoying waiting and bidding for it on the market. I forget I have them until they deactivate and I feel like I desperately need them.

Is the gear repair system changed? I'm looking at a guide and some of this stuff looks scary (big money sinks). I think things must be changed because I remember repairing gear just because, and I haven't had to do anything crazy.

Trying to remember if it was this game or another game that I started playing that made changes to the weapon upgrade system. Thinking about it for a while, maybe that was Blade And Souls actually. I bought a lot of blue gear yesterday, how screwed am I? Lesson learned if it really is that crazy to upgrade or repair (maybe it's because I'm still on new player server that they are going easy on us?).

Green
Cheap and Easy to Repair - Krea (green) can be bought plentifully for less than 50k in the market. Young Tree Spirit's can be purchased from Tulem in Altinova for 120k each.

Future proof - Since it is easy to repair (see above), green gear can be used to build failstacks, given to an alt, or sell for some quick cash after it is used and abused.
All green weapon (with the exception of green awakening) and armor can be reformed to ”ultimate" for extra stats and damage
Note: although ”ultimate" changes the weapon to yellow, it still counts as green tier.

Blue
More Damage - Blue gives you more AP than Green. Liverto (bow) provides more accuracy than Krea.

Free Heiress - (sword) given after obtaining awakening skills (level 56)
Twice as expensive to buy in the marketplace (TRI blue cost twice as much than buying a TRI green).

Harder to Upgrade - Requires memory fragments and extra copies of blue (5m-9m) to restore durability. New players are often bottlenecked by the lack of memory fragments which can be used to repair boss (yellow) gear.
Players can opt to make the upgrade process easier and cheaper by purchasing Artisan Memory fragments for loyalty (400) or pearls (50)

Difficult to Sell - a TRI Liverto can cost about a month to sell in the marketplace
Note: Heiress is unique because it can be reformed to ”Ultimate" for 2 ~ 2 extra AP. Liverto doesn't need to be reformed.

I don't think the repair system has any big change, other than memory fragments giving more durability for green gear than it did in the past. You really shouldn't be using memory fragments on green gear though.

Repairing a weapon from use is cheap and easy, and done at a blacksmith. When you try to upgrade an item and fail, your weapon/armor lose 5 durability out of 100 total points. To repair that durability you need to either get the same item or use memory fragments. Using the same item will repair 10 durability, memory fragments will restore 5 for green, 2 for blue and 1 for yellow.

What blue gear did you buy? If the item's base is green, you can still repair it with its green base. In other words, if you bought a blue or yellow krea weapon you can repair that weapon with green kreas of the same type. If you bought a Liverto, then yes those are pretty expensive to level for brand new players. You do want to either slowly level one of those or a Kzarka as a long term goal.

The new players server is a blessing and a curse. You level up extremely fast, but once you move on to the Mediah region (50+) you will start running into mobs that are no longer easy to kill. You will probably have to take a small break from leveling your character to start upgrading your gear.

Repairing with same piece of gear = 10 durability
Repairing with memory fragments depends on weapon's grade.
White - 10
Green - 5
Blue - 2
Yellow - 1

Last time I asked these questions I was upgrading my blue awakening weapon (ranger sword equivalent). Since it costs 9m on the market it was surely sending me broke and I was about to dump my stash of memory fragments on it. One suggestion to me is to buy Artisan's Memory from the Loyalty shop which gives the repair 3x boost. So I bought two of these and two spears to sacrifice and gained 60 dura for it which is actually quite good.

In terms of going into blue gear... You're not screwed really because it is the normal path to go into any way. My suggestion however is to not upgrade too many pieces and just buy what you need when you can. I made the mistake of trying to upgrade a full set of grunil armor for instance but a +15 piece is only about 19m.

I'm pretty frivolous with my memory fragments but I know I shouldn't be.

Wow you two are knocking it out of the park with you help, thank you very much for this. And you answered my questions, so well that I'm bookmarking it for later. I was thinking about the normal repair from basic gear use not when you fail a upgrade. I stop at the safe spot currently and haven't tried to go over. Currently I use Grunil, and other common items for leveling.

If I do get into the better gear I'll probably just save up to buy already crafted stuff. I love to farm when games give me reason to. I find it relaxing, especially if the fights are fun and surround me with dangerous enemies and obstacles.

This game is very interesting. This is the first mmo I've seen that encourages people to afk fish haha. There are a lot of features/mechanics that accommodate afk progress, and it's pretty cool. I can see myself spending money in this game since it seems like it could be my go to game to chill out with.

I remember I use to auto-level skills and stuff like that in Cabal Online. Those practice dummies in towns saw hours of use from me.

Melati, Araceli and myself are pretty frequently fishing in Velia's hotspot at the fishing nets, serendia 4 if you want to join us.

I'll pass the tips I've been given to you too! Buy and upgrade a Balenos Rod. Mine is at +6 and it gives me 80 durability and +16% auto-fishing speeds. It is a little bit expensive though!
Try to sell your fish at the imperial fishing trader guy. There is one in Velia, Glish, Splashing Point and some other town I've yet to get to! They have limited purchase counts per fish but it resets every few hours and doesn't reduce price on fish with low timers. The fish count is per channel so you can try your luck in a different channel but there is a 10 minute wait time when you jump channels. -_-
You still need to connect to the node when you sell for decent prices.

Thanks again, I should have enough for the fishing rod (they bombard new players with gold bars it seem), and I'll fish while I'm unable to play.

1) How do you make your workers pass their promotions? I've failed every promotion I've given them for 6-7 times in a row. It's annoying.

2) I am trying to do the Mansha/Rhutum Contribution run as often as I can. Is there any other place that gives more contribution points in a short amount of time?

3) Do any of you guys use wagons as a method of storing items? I heard someone in game saying they use noble wagons as a way to free up bank space so they don't have to use their contribution points on storage?

4) It seems they nerfed the Grunil Amity Vendor. Where do I get Grunil now? It seems really complicated to craft. Is Helms/Mane/Sausans the best way of getting it now?

5) I am 15+ Grunil, 15+ Yuria main and 15+ secondary weapons. Upgraded them all to yellow. Do I need to have another piece of the same type and calibur to get it to Duo? If I find another 15+ ultimate (yellow weapon) can I use a cronstone to guarantee it being Duo?

6) Where do you guys station your different characters? Do you have alts in different parts of the world doing specific content so you dont run around everywhere and waste time on one character?

1)There is no clear cut way to make workers pass. I only do promotions when they are level 30 and it seems to work more times than it does not.

2)If you are able to do afk activities I would do (and I personally do) cooking for contribution points. Making things like beer or essence of liquor is easy and the by products give a lot of CP EXP. Otherwise I haven't done dailies for CP in a long time, but I always did the quest chain in Calpheon . I highly recommend cooking if you can.

3)Yes I use wagons for storage. I have a ton of farms and I park one of my wagons by the farm with a ton of seeds. The only downside to this is it counts as a horse, so only the character you took it out of the stable with will be able to see/take things from it.

4)Been awhile since I did the grunil vendor, but every X amount of patches they seem to change the combo to get the best score from the guy. Did they just change the combo or did they actually nerf the amount of points you get? Crafting isn't too bad if you have been collecting black shards. If you don't want to gather the materials for crafting, you could always preorder the armor for a little over the max price. I'm not sure how in demand they are, so you might be able to get away with a low preorder price.

5)No that isn't how getting something to Pri/Duo/Tri works. First you need Hard Black Crystal Shard for armor or Sharp Black Crystal Shard for weapons. Once you have 1 of those you heat it together with either 2 Black Armor Stones or 2 Weapons Stones. That will give you a Concentrated Magical Black Stone Armor/Weapon. You then use that like you would regular Black Stones. So it is much more expensive to try to level something to Pri/Duo.

Also, once you get something to Duo and try to upgrade it to Tri, if you fail you will go back to Pri. Cron stones try and stop that. Basically if you use Cron stones and fail you have a chance of just losing the Black Stone, and a chance of Degrading like normal. So Cron Stones are basically just another form of RNG.

Repairing armor that you have upgraded to yellow does not need the same type and grade to be repaired. So your yellow grunil only needs a green grunil to repair it.

6)I have a bunch of boss alts that I park near bosses I care about. Other than that, I have 1 gatherer that I park where I like to gather. Best advice here is to just get a fast horse with the holy trinity of horse skills (drift, instant acell, sprint). With a fast horse you can get from one side of the map to the other fairly quickly.

How bad is PKing in this game? I was thinking about picking it up, but I was talking to my friend about it and he was saying that certain guilds hold certain farm areas, and they won't because you can attack really anyone, they will just attack and kill you if you try to farm in there area. How true is this? This would make me just not want to play.

Hubb

There are a few popular places that are highly contested. You either need to get a group or be strong enough to fight off other players. There are other places to farm, but if you want the best place(s) you might need to fight for it. You really don't lose anything on death unless you are negative karma though. Pk'ing doesn't start till level 50.

If you have an extra character slot, don't forget to make a DK before the servers go down for maintenance. 3 Lauren's family box, Horse Flute 7 days, 100G Ingot isn't much, but it isn't bad either.

Even if a guild is holding a farm spot on a channel, you can just jump to another channel. There are 36 channels total. The only places where you run a decent chance of being PKed are Sausans and Pirates. I rarely get PKed personally.

Oooh thanks, loving this thread. I wouldn't have known about the free character slot with 1 loyalty if not for this thread as well. So much information. I wasn't even planning on creating a Dark Knight, I guess I'll make it and give it a fair shot. Doubt it will be like the only other Drk class I know of (Final Fantasy 11 and 14).

I'm nearly full on characters now. One more after Dark Knight. I may add the Warlock, I think I saw something about him being able to heal? in the second skill tree tab thing (forgot the name).

You get the occasional asshole who will kill you on sight for no reason even when you're just minding your own business. Just the other day I was leveling my sorcessess near Canyon of Corruption. I'm not strong enough for the main rotation but I have a small little one that works well for me and it isn't even part of the main group, more the walk way up there. Of course, some kunoichi stabs me in the back on her way up to the main one... You run into assholes like this regardless of games. I just took the loss and jumped to the next server aaaannnd ran into a crazy witch there. The first thing that happened was I got surrounded by mobs because I didn't think when I jumped channels and I had to fight my way out. The witch comes over and invites me to party like a champ. She taxed all the item drops but since I was there mostly for exp I didn't mind. She was strong enough to run through the bigger rotations of mobs and as a result I was carried from 53 to 54.5

You run into all sorts.

There was some other asshole who tried to kill my cousin at Rogues. Didn't manage it and I thought that was it only to find out 15 minutes later he is still trying but neither of them could kill each other and my cousin just wanted to farm/quest and be out of there. I travelled from Calpheon to Rogues and he was still there. It was pretty clear he intended to harrass only, it wasn't even about the mobs. He just wanted to pick on someone. Any way, I almost killed him but he is Pro Musa when it comes to running.

PK in random areas I think is worse on Olvia channels. Usually it is just dicks who have been given access to these servers because they are returning. They know the server is full of newbies and they far out gear them so they flaunt their stuff a bit.

If you go to a contested spot and ask to join party they usually let you know if they have room. Olvia was sausage is the worst.

If you don't have the slot be sure to get the 1 loyalty expansion slot in the shop before it is gone. Is it gone already?

It's so satisfying to help people rather than grieve them to me. I love games that allow me to heal people, and tough games so that people would be ok with me helping them if needed. I've had my share of awesome dudes helping me out. That just made me want to be on the other side, helping people, being awesome, and inspiring them to also be kind.

Mephala

I generally prefer games that can be solo played for the most part. Helping people and getting help is fine but... Shitty Aussy internet means group stuff larger than 6 players generally means I'm lagging to point of almost unplayable. This is definitely true for world bosses where I'm frequently 3 or more seconds behind. -_-

Boss scrolls are fun though. Group grinding isn't bad either.

Edit. I keep forgetting to sell my fish before maintenance. -__-

So I've killed Karanda 3 times now, as they say 3rd times a charm...

not sure what I want to use it on yet, might wait until DK awakening.

Black Desert sure brings out some interesting characteristics.. At least XIV's GAF community is still strong, I saw xtech on there.

I'll probably play guildless if the guild disbands.

GAF guild is super casual I don't blame anyone for leaving so they can experience node wars or other things you need to be more hardcore to do.

Wanting to do nodewars is fine but not even a heads up and making another is guild is another thing. It's whatever though I do my own thing anyway.

It is what it is. Anyway, I won't be disbanding GAF guild even if I'm the last one left ;0
With that said, let's try to do one or two guild missions a week, along with boss mission.

Sounds good, I tried to do a guild mission myself the other day when no one was around it ended up being 3200 kills at abandoned mines... I did not finish it lol.

Got Dark Knight to level 51 last night but it's been so long since I played I'm pretty lost on upgrading my gear and contribution and stuff like that.

Wish I could have taken more advantage of the double exp week but was busy at work.

Are we still doing guild scrolls? I haven't really looked into guild activities I could help with. The only thing I've been doing is stealing cash from the vault when I remember and tagging along when there is an activity going on. >_> Pretty much the guild leech here. I even managed to get vyrance to pump my income up to 100k before he left!

Are guild quests soloable? Keeping in mind I am but a lowly level 56.

Yeah, hence why I like our guild and our guild members. Casual and cool/friendly people.

Pretty much why I joined. I am not against pvp but it is impossible for me to enjoy on my connection. The game offers a lot of different areas in terms of gameplay so I'm fine with this and I suppose people will come and go as they want to experience different parts of the game.

I must say though that the guild is looking pretty empty these days and sometimes when it says 10+ people are online a good 7 are afk processing, cooking or fishing! A little sad.

So it was you! It was you who over took me! I hit 50 on DK and saw another guild member was blazing along in the 40s. I was having connection issues and wasted my night time grind for 51 with exp buffs :(
Congrats! I'll catch up soon!

At your level, you can solo guild missions long as you do the small ones.

Well, even when there were more members, it did feel a bit empty since a lot of them were afk fishing or doing other things on their own. Let's try to recruit some new members to liven up the guild a bit.

What is the purpose of guild missions any way? Income for guild? What is that then used for? Are there limits on them? I should probably look at a guide or something before drag us into the ground lol.

I might start calling for Guild Missions in discord chat, if I start them. If you have it open it'll at least pop a notification. ;)

Guild missions = Guild EXP and money. Money is for boss scrolls and for PvP/node wars, EXP is for guild perks.

Nal and I couldn't make it for tonight's boss scrolls unfortunately, but we will be more active again starting tomorrow. I agree that we need to liven up the guild, and will kickstart gathering missions whenever I can with my newfound powers (once Minty explains to me how I do that).

Actually I'm not sure if I'm still in the GAF guild.

Got 52 tonight, probably could have gotten higher but I was relearning stuff about upgrading. My gear is horrible. Basically just been committing mass genocide to grind levels.

How do you get scrolls? I'm at 55% with Eggs. I'm trying to rush to 56 on her since I stripped Avo for gear.

I can't remember who I was talking to about the costumes on the shop that had the timer and we were debating whether it was just a sale or if "last chance" meant they were taken off the shop! Well, the outfits aren't on the shop any more so that settles it!

Managed to grab Sorce and Warrior costumes before it was gone. Missed the Tamer red cavaro though.

Thanks a lot Hubb. A few more questions:

1)Will you recommend me on how to upgrade next(I'm a Warrior): http://bdoplanner.com/s/iU63HJvD < What should I upgrade first? My Awakening weapon? I spend all my time with greatsowrd (lvl 56). Is it more important to get AP up from other sources or get your main weapon damage up?

2) When I try to preorder items, I seem unable to actually get them. I run around the world and get notifications from items I've preordered and I cannot buy anything. I don't understand why not. How can you preorder something and get first priority to buy it? People talk about "sniping" at the AH but I don't get it.

3) I hear people talking about the night vendor? Is that a good alternative to crafting and enchanting my own equipment?

4) How do you get the life skills costumes +3? they are never on sale.

5) How do you get T8 horses? I've never seen them on sale either.

6) I am trying to figure out how to make as much money as I can from passive income. I'm on my computer a lot but working, so I am trying to find a setup where I can make a lot of money from low- maitimance with a passive and semi-AFK crafting method. I'm at 230 CP now (thanks for the cooking CP tip!) and have an elaborate network now. But I am not doing anything besides beers. I am just selling the zinc, trace of forest/svagery/origin/ascension, flax, rough black stones and other materials. I'm trying to figure out what to do to get money off on doing a lot of processing.
