To me this was the most zelda game since the original
OoT tainted the series to me
after the oracle games it took until between worlds to get the right idea, WW had potential but it being rushed ruined that potential
Dungeons and unique items please.
I completely disagree, but it's your opinion.
OOT is the pinnacle of the series(and still my favourite game ever) for me.
The next decade huh?
So, like, both of them?
botw ability spoiler
The wind power broke the hell out of puzzles hookshot would be even worse unless they went back to closed rooms
I expect there to be 3 types of Zelda games going forward. The big open world game, smaller traditional 3D games, and the top down 2d games.
Does listing an item that ISN'T in BOTW count as a spoiler?
If so, then fine, here...
I want a hookshot in the next 3D Zelda!
I'm fine with this, as long as they improve on it too. I'd like to see
- Less Shrines and more proper Dungeons.
- Make Towers more interesting or just have less of them. (like Horizon)
- Weapon durability is fine but it would be nice if they didn't break quite so fast.
- Fully commit to the voice acting (not just a few select scenes) and a deeper story.
- Bring back more classic Zelda items / weapons like the Hookshot ect.
Well, to be fair, some of the later onesdo have puzzles and enemies involved in getting to the top.
I really wonder if they will make a Majoras Mask type companion for BOTW. I want a darker, crazier adventure somewhere other than Hyrule.

If they are as great as engrossing as BOTW, I don't think I could handle more than 2 more in the next decade. So we'll get two more games.

There will be elements they all share, of course.
You could still put something like the hookshot in this game.

If they use this formula again I think we will only get one more Zelda for the next decade anyway. They spent almost 6 years with BotW, while I think we will get minor games before the next mainline 3D Zelda, we won't get it before 2021.
I'm not sure if I want the 3D variant of the games to turn into open world games, though.
Not gonna lie, I think in 10-15 years, people will kinda hate BotW.
Not because it's bad or anything, but because it'll have taken Ocarina-style Zelda away from them.
It'll be interesting to see what the series will do now.
Just a humble prediction, just like Ocarina was the template up to SS.
Couldn't be happier as I love Breath of the Wild.
How could they improve this formula?
I personally loved the Shrines as mini puzzles, and found the length of the main dungeons to be perfect. I disliked how long the dungeons were in the previous Zelda titles. I just hope that there are more of them in the next game.
I hope wanderlust continues to be a theme for future 3D Zelda games.
Any more ideas?
I don't want gated areas anymore. The hookshot used to represent a key to access areas that were meant for later progression. I think Quality of Life items would be better rewards, as they provide unique improvements to things already accessible.
None of the towers are earlier or later. You can go to any of them as soon as you leave the plateau, regardless of upgrades. That needs to remain, because that defines true freedom of exploration.
They all share a ton of tropes from Ocarina of Time and Link to the Past that Breath of the Wild threw in the trash. Is Nintendo really known to do this though? I mean, OoT was incredibly well received and sold well, and the direct sequel to the game is very different from it. And then the next Zelda, Wind Waker, was again extremely different from OoT.
I'm not really sure the next 3D Zelda will just basically be a follow up to BotW. It seems like they are always trying to do new things.
I don't think that that's necessarily true.
Eventually people are going to want a hookshot.
A prequel using the same map would be literally the best game ever. Either 10,000 years ago, so technology is more advanced and we get a full fledged plot maybe explaining how ganon became calamity ganon, or a game set 100 years ago which could be party-based and show the lead up to BotW in more detail.
Not this shit again.
I have no idea why anyone that is applauding Nintendo for taking a risk and trying something new would then beg them to reuse assets, ideas, or structure to create another BotW. Especially the people wanting a MM style sequel. Let them continue to take risks if you want special games.
You can bypass a large majority of the dungeon puzzles with it, 2 stam bars plus climber gear 2 star makes climbing over with stupidly fast. You get about 10 jumps. Hookshot is overkill
As for that OoT statement .... ALttP isn't zelda 1
Just because you can doesn't mean you have to. And I never knew that anyway, I always want to clear Zelda games 100%.
And LttP is, again, more like Zelda 1 than BOTW is. BOTW has none of the elements that were present in those games that were the big reason I enjoy Zelda games in the first place.
BOTW seems to cater to combat elitists more than anything.
Funny thing is that Majora's Mask was possibly the biggest risk they ever took with the series.
I really wonder if they will make a Majoras Mask type companion for BOTW. I want a darker, crazier adventure somewhere other than Hyrule.
As someone who grew up on the first game, enjoyed the combat/sense of powering up of the second one, was blown away by EVERYTHING they crammed into ALttP, and adored how fluid LA played.... I'll never understand this :x

Theres a tower per big region, wtf.
Theres the perfect amount of them, and each one has a challenge (that you can cheese becuase of the nature of the game)
