So should I switch to Funimation's streaming service instead of Crunchyroll?

Looks like Funi has an ok catalog. But some of their shared stuff with country is episodes behind. Ie. Masamune's revenge is on episode 6 on funi, episode 11 on crunchy.

Funimation is largely for dubs (this is also why Funi is behind, because dubbing takes time) and Crunchyroll for subs nowadays. You could also always get VRV combo pack for $10 and get both as well as a few other things

Damn :(

Funi does have a nice catalog of older stuff though. Dunno if I want to do the combo pack.

Samurai Jack Season 5 Episode 2

Who needs Grave of the Fireflies anime when we have Jack in a grave with fireflies. Absolutely breathtaking scene. Jack's first
human kill
really broke his heart. And the show has gone to some dark places before, but nothing like Jack talking to himself about
considering sudoku

Crunchyroll allows you to still use their streaming service directly if you sign up for VRV.

My main issue with VRV is they're still limited on platforms they support. They only run on Mobile Phones, XB1, PS4, and Chromecast at the moment.

And the Kuroko no Basket which just came out this weekend.

I never watched the first season and was too busy to catch up for this season. I've heard good things, but does it really live up to the hype? Enough to go back and squeeze in a watch?
Season 1 is a riot. Season 2 is a riot, a vast improvement over the first and one of top 3 shows this season. Take that as you will ;)

IBO S2 23

Then Tomino pulled off his Okada mask, and laughed, and laughed.

Also drunk Unicorn hype I guess?

Also IBO is one of those rare universes where unnamed assassins can actually hit someone.

Tamako Market 04

Anko seems to take to her mother, she's a lot more perceptive than Tamako. I imagine being surrounded by airheads has her attracted to someone more smarter. Yet another charming little episode.

Would have preferred a second season...

It's a series of movies that'll ultimately be roughly the length of a season of content. Waiting will be a headache, but given the frequency the production studio has suffered issues with getting things complete on time, I'd much rather they make these things on a less harsh schedule if it means we can get content with the production standards of the Anzio OAV (of the movie) instead at the end of it.

There's also both of Yuasa's films ("Lu Over the Wall" and "The Night is Short, Walk on Girl"), Ancien and the Magic Tablet from the GITS:SAC director, Black Butler: Book of the Atlantic, and Koike's Lupin III film focused around Goemon.

Oh, and there's a Pripara movie where the idols go to space. Pretty busy year in terms of films!

Idolmaster EP16 was such a turd and EP17 wasn't exactly a masterpiece.
Completely killed my desire to watch more Idolmaster.

Time for Chihaya to save the show.

Also, Nobuyuki Takeuchi's movie, "Uchiage Hanabi, Shita kara Miru ka? Yoko kara Miru ka?" from Shaft in August.

Here's a top 100 anime movies list (or the first part of one anyway) that's actually worthwhile beyond complaining about inclusion/exclusions or rankings because it focuses on more obscure movies from throughout history.

Things I didn't know about but are now added to my backlog:
Musashi: Dreams of the Last Samurai
Marine Express
Twelve Months

Highlander thing was dead-on too and something I think gets unfortunately overlooked by Kawajiri fans due to the franchise it's attached to.

Ai Mai Mi: Surgical Friends 8
Everyone just talked about the flat earth joke and no one mentioned the wolf!!

BeyBlade Episode 41

Kai being from Russia was...I wonder if the backstory can explain his face markings and etc. The battle with the others teams could have been pushed off to a future episode and more on Kai given to us instead :(

Daily Lives of High School Boys

Three episodes in and this series is fucking hilarious. Apparently it has the same composer as Gintama and I can tell with the OST.

Yugioh Dark Side of Dimensions(Dub)

Or the lets all masturbate to how awesome Kaiba is movie.

Some thoughts
-The dub felt really self aware, poking fun at its own absurdity a lot. Can't be helped i guess because of the popularity of Yugioh abridged and stuff. Its actually pretty funny at times with it though especially Bakura with his fan club who obsesses over his accent. I dunno its weird.

-The fanservice for Kaiba is ludicrous. He builds a fucking justice league satellite just for dueling and solving a puzzle. The world of yugioh just makes no sense. the entire economy seems built around the card game but no one recognizes Yugi Moto, the guy who saved the world and wins every tournament and people still ask him "are you good at card game?".

-The villain in these movies is always terrible. No exception here but that being said it was a million times better than the previous movies antagonists. I don't know why they bother really, just make a movie with the core characters, no one gives a flying fuck about hastily written movie antagonists.

-The series always played fast and loose with rules but fuck its completely incomprehensible here. Literally non-stop "fuck the rules".

-The character designs all have Hirai/Gundam seed like designs...and it actually looks really good. Duke Devlin was probably the only one that looked off but eh sure he's a jobber who only gets 2 scenes so who cares.

-Dub cast is amazing as expected. They've really never been able to replicate the feeling of the original series.

- Fucking
Atem is the John Cena of Yugioh, literally shows up for 3 seconds and steals all the fucking glory

Overall there is a bit of a lull in the middle but jesus its was a really fun movie. Hardest ive laughed at an anime in quite some time.
Fuck that cliffhanger ending though.

Blue Exorcist kyoto arc 10-11

OMG! This was AMAZING! The climax to both Yukio and Rin's battle were so well done. I loved how Todo just consistently gor in Yukio's head, making him doubt himself and fueling the brother acceptance/self acceptance problems he already has. The battle itself was super well done and the use of diverse tactics and the envrionnement itself was super well done. Todo best troll.

As for the impure king itself, the climax to that battle was super fantamazing! The way Rin clashes with himself and gets to still try to support Bon even if he is himself so scared shows us how deeply he cares for everybody. Rin is easily one of my favorite characters of all time; such a great personnality. Then the flame control and all, with him remembering Shiemi's words to pull himself through it. The amazing battle choregraphy with the epic feels ost playing...perfect! Rin being so happy at the end gave me a smile...Rin is best boy.

Great end to the fight, really well done.

Nah, the ending was perfect.
It lets the viewer decide who the winner was. I loved how the entirety of Kaiba's character in the movie was about the fact that he wanted one more duel with Atem.

Naruto Shippuden: Season 17 Episode 499 - Hidden Leaf Story, The Perfect Day for a Wedding, Part 6: The Outcome of the Secret Mission

So ready to wake up at the 6 am hour for the final Shippuden episode, Im going to be so sad to see it go, but so glad to welcome in Boruto and co, Boruto is perfect.

Konohamaru and other video messaging has been the best part of these episode, so many hilarious moments.

The solution to everything though could have been simple, have Naruto use Shadow Clone Jutsu to guard the walls of Konoha.

Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans S2 23

So the final battle isn't a grand fight to determine the fate of the solar system, but a simple run away plan to survive. I can dig that. Did Orga ever learn that Mika and Atra did it? Macky moves on his own whims. Iok the Brave truly lives up his name. Emphasis on lives. Poor Zack can't even run away properly. Return of Takaki, and Azee looks good with her boss outfit. Iok isn't the only one with an AT Field. Ride keeps on living,
but this time at the expense of Orga. Not too surprising. Dude tried hard, but that just means a bigger target on his back.

Needs a Holiday on Gallifrey
Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu S2 11:
I was not ready for that. I kept it together for most of the episode, but
Shinnosuke being the person Yakumo most wanted to see him perform his Rakugo weakened me, the parting scene with Sukeroku hit me hard, and then Matsuda's bit at the end brought everything out.

What a masterpiece.
This is what caused me to bust a leak. I was maintaining my composure for the most part, but him seeing Shinnosuke there was the most beautiful way to end Yakumo's character arc. He grew and became a loving grandfather.

This episode was master class. This series is one of the best I've witnessed. It's so consistently great it's mind boggling.
One more episode to go.

The in universe tv boys detective tv show was best, even better than the scare tactic show they did a few episodes ago. Atom and Rui made the perfect detective team, then R and L were good underlings for Shy

Plot
the twist, never even saw that coming. I thought it was all resolved until Rui made the usual fake story get the suspect to confess thing. I cant believe we actually thought him coming back to life was real. But Atom would believe it

KiraKira Precure À La Mode 7

Himari is still the only consistent cook in the group. The fairies had their base on the mountain. Which was blown up by what seems to be a group of criminals. If I didn't know better I'd have no reason to believe there's some grand evil wanting to destroy the world or something. Also, did that old fairy basically just die in that explosion? Not much to note aside from Yukari and Akira already being inseparable this episode.
