I would bang a hot farmer!
Anyone have any tips for the Yiga Clan Base? These guys a kicking my ass and the window for the sneak attack strike is so small that I constantly get bum rushed in the second area.

Really cool change to the formula in that place but man it can be annoying. Plus they don't allow saves in there lol.
I killed them all
with a single ancient arrow each.

All shrines and side quests done. Unfortunately I think I'm locked out of two shrine quests as I found the shrines before activating the quests.

I am missing 2 shrine quests as well, wonder what that was.
I know in 1 case I did the shrine first and I could simply tell the quest giver NPC about it and I got and completed the quest immediately.

You're not locked out of anything. If you find the shrine quest giver it'll then say it's completed right away because you already completed it.

I really hope Switch gets a bunch of Zelda ports. Ocarina, Majora, Wind Waker and Twilight Princess. The dream scenario would be all of them in one package, but I'm sure Nintendo knows full well that people would buy them all again individually so if we get them it certainly wont be in a collection but that's fine. I just want these games on Switch. Also Skyward Sword HD would be great.

BOTW is really making me miss these games.

Out of curiosity can you permanently lose the Master Sword? I was facing a bunch of electric enemies got hit by one causing me to drop my Hylian shield and Knight's bow into the bottom of the lake. The lake was too deep to use magnesis to try and grab it. Curious if that can happen to the master sword.

This might be the first game i've ever played that i hated for about 6 hours, and finally started liking after about 10. It's really weird how it happened. Nintendo magic i guess? lol.

No the master sword can't be thrown or knocked out of your hands.

Just a quick story.

Was on the quest to do the Gerudo divine beast (dressed as Gerudo link) So it was time to infiltrate the Ninja Camp and get the Item Required back. Really this could have been a full dungeon. Anyway so i climbed over the mountains barely surviving thanks to some previously saved up food. This allowed me to skip most of the guards at the entry way. Then i stealthed through the base to the room with the bow and arrow first go. I was so proud of Link and his Cross dressing Ninja Self.
Then i couldnt find the secret door and spent an hour replaying the same base stealth section trying to find the secret exit

Personally, I wonder what went wrong because XCX is open world too and we didn't had so much horrible frame drops, it was super mega rare.
During the 5 hours of Tree house footage, they didn't had any frame drop neither.

Yup and that world was gigantic too, but also not nearly as interactive as Zelda is. Not sure if that has anything to do with it though.

Did this work, not quite getting the instructions.

Yup. I had like 300 arrows pretty damn quickly this way. What he meant was...go to that island. Use magnesis on the chest that is underwater. Open it to get 10x arrows. Save, load that savegame and the chest is there again.

Finished the
Tarrey Town
quest. That was so incredibly charming and hilarious. I loved how the
Bolson name
gag and the
sad music
gag was present throughout the whole thing. Seeing
that town go from chunks of rock to an actual town with people and shops and inns
made me feel like a proud parent.
I helped build it!

I made the mistake of
talking to Bolson in Tarrey Town. I was so excited that he'd finally stop squatting on my property but talking to him brought him back.
Bah.

Bah.

Literally reloaded my save to keep those two off my property.

No, that's likely it. There's a lot more going in Breath of the Wild than Xenoblade Chronicles X

Yup. But who knows what their next game could look and perform like, solely built for Switch. Not that Switch is such a world of difference with Wii U...but yeah.

Anyway, about Farosh.....

So far i've picked up two scales of his but that's about it. He just flies around and there hasn't been a quest about/for him yet. I was kinda expecting something similar to Naydra, that turned out to be a shrine quest. But all of that started by some NPCs in Hateno Village. Nothing like that in this area where Farosh flies around. Is there anything to him and these scales or can i just leave the area?

Surprisingly little points of interest or side quests here, except the one for the stable.

Pic datamined from the game as "Memory 13", maybe some placeholder image. Not spoilery, but just in case.

Remember what you did with Naydra's scale. It might happen again, but this time without the hand holding. Also his horns are pretty valuable for something.

I'm at 103 shrines but I'm probably going to start checking a map for the rest. I'm at 110 or so hours, I need to get back to Nioh and other games. I've played nothing else since it launched.

That would suck if we don't get another Zelda with this engine for 5 years+.

I know they were saying one big entry per franchise...but come on :/ Should start work now...

It's official, after 40 hours or so of playing I can now say without a doubt that this is, indeed, my favorite video game of all time. I am 36 years old and I have been gaming all of my life, and this is the first time in many years where I feel completely and totally comfortable saying that. It doesn't come lightly from me.

Even though I have been playing so long I have yet to even attempt to go to any of the dungeons. I have done a number of the shrines, enough to have upgraded my stamina twice and then to gain on single additional heart. I don't have any of the clothing upgrades other than the first one you get for warmth and then I've upgraded the top and bottoms I have to the second level of defense.

I'm going to post my quick little story in spoilers just in case anyone doesn't want any details at all, and I have also included a photo I took of the moment it became my favorite game.

Earlier today I was doing just as I have been doing lately, just walking around trying to get to all of the towers. I was on my way to my next one that I had marked and I realized I was somewhat close to the castle. Up to this point I hadn't even gone anywhere close to it, but since it was just a short ways over I decided to head on and just see what it was like.

It was very tough, especially with my character as weak as he is. I almost turned around, but all of a sudden I realized I was really getting used to the controls. I was dodging the guardians and other enemies and I started making my way deeper and deeper into the area. Before I knew it I stumbled upon an awesome shield and an awesome sword and then I discovered my first batch of guardian arrows! I was able to take down a couple that were giving me trouble and I again went deeper and deeper into the area.

That's when it happened. I got to this very large tower/pole and I decided to climb. I went up, up, and up all the way to the top. Once there, even though I was still holding on to it, it apparently was enough to where it no longer used stamina. It was there, as I saw how close I was to Ganon, the view, the music picking up, just everything about it, that I decided it has now taken the number one spot on my personal all time list. Here is a quick photo I took using my phone off the TV of the spot I'm talking about....

KhyVi6J.jpg

I dived off and floated as far as I could to a ledge. I kept on and eventually I got to a large archway. I had no clue what it was, but I pushed on. It then told me I was in the sanctum. The cutscene started, and then out of nowhere I was face to face with Windblight Ganon! I tried over and over, but being so underpowered I had trouble. Then finally, right before I was going to warp away to continue the game normally, I did it, I defeated Windblight! I had no clue what was next, I haven't read any spoilers on anything. Then of course came Waterblight Ganon. At that point I had used so many different weapons and items and food I had little left and he defeated me shortly after.

I almost wish I had a different ending to this little personal story, but for now that's where it ends. I will be warping away and continuing on the journey normally. However, the fact that I was able to do this, to get this far with so little, blows my mind and just backs up the decision I made before I even got to the sanctum, that this is indeed my favorite game ever.

I don't know what else to say, I'm simply blown away.

I'm confused, I eat a spicy pepper recipe for cold resistance but I still am cold and still lose health, whats the deal?

Finished the first part of the
Goron
arc. That was fun. Much better than
Rito
. I just brute forced it and
took down all the sentries using boxes
. Is there a way to 100% stealth this section?

Watching
the beast crawl over Death Mountain
was quite the spectacle. I definitely had some frame drops the closer I got. So many effects and stuff happening. I started at night and by the time I got
to the summit
, it was daybreak and it looked absolutely gorgeous. Colors everywhere!

Check the menu beside Link's model, there's two levels of cold/hot resistance, you need to double up with some other thing like clothes or a weapon.
