Konami won't be releasing PowerPro 2017. They will however, be giving the 2016 game a free update which includes the 2017 roster!

#NiceGuyKonami

New PowerPro game is in development for next year.

just saw this news, I'm very pleased by this.

Oh wow. Actually, I don't believe they've announced a Pro Baseball Spirits yet, correct me if I'm wrong.

No PYS since the last version on PS3/Vita (PYS 2014). No news whether there will ever be another. I am inclined to believe that the series is dead, but who knows. I hope I'm wrong.

Well it's amazon.co.jp, which has a really small marketshare in Japan. Honestly it could just be people in the West trying to import it xD.

As far I'm concerned, Amazon has the 15% of marketshare of e-commerce in Japan. Rakuten more than 30%, and more than 100 million users.
(Yeah, Rakuten fanboy here)

How surprising, another 3DS Monster Hunter title with plenty of 1 star ratings.

Three stars at Rakuten as well, and they are not such trolls as Amazon reviews, lol.

Wasn't expecting Atlus to have another 3DS project for this year in Japan. Gonna assume they also have that Vanillaware game coming this year (PS4), and maybe Etrian Odyssey 3 Untold. Gonna re-use that EOIV engine and take advantage of the dual-screens of the 3DS one last time.

Honestly, I'm not surprised. Atlus is not exactly estraneous to releasing games late in a console's lifecycle. We all know about Persona 4 in 2008, but even more recently: both Nora to Toki no Kōbō: Kiri no Mori no Majo (July 21st, 2011) and Devil Survivor 2 (July 28th, 2011) released on DS months after 3DS' release. Actually, Devil Survivor 2 came out before the Nintendo 3DS version of the first Devil Survivor (September 1st, 2011). And we shouldn't forget how Persona 5 was PS3-only at its first announcement, and still came out on PS3 last year (alongside its PS4 version). So yes, Atlus releasing more than SMT this year on 3DS is not such a shock.

I wonder what else Atlus is going to bring to 3DS this year (if there's anything else): a EOIII Untold is plausible, since they said EOV was going to be possibly the last numbered EO on 3DS (I suppose remakes get a pass). Also, hopefully we see 13 Sentinels again this Sunday, as well as a Switch game for 2017. I wouldn't exclude a Persona spin-off of sorts (Persona 5: Arena? Persona 5: DAN? Persona Musou? ).

I don't really get it. I mean I sorta do but don't you actually have to own the game to rate on amazon.

No you don't, otherwise it wouldn't be infamous for those troll reviews. Unless Amazon.co.jp has different policies than .com, co.uk, etc.

Hell, there were even some joke reviews about the Switch before Nintendo even began sending review units, so...

Pretty sure we're getting data tomorrow. We got it on Wednesday (Dec. 2) for Monster Hunter X: https://www.famitsu.com/news/201512/02094302.html

I don't think it matters whether MHXX sells 1m or not, pretty sure we've already had early sales report for non-million sellers before, and I assume MHXX is too big a game for them not to have one for it.

Yeah, somehow I forgot that Monday was a national holiday, so the report has probably been delayed one day (from the usual Tuesday to Wednesday). So should come out later today.

Hokanko, in its weeky Famitsu summary, mentions a "scoop" teaser for next week. Can't comprehend the full line about the scoop though, anyone willing to help?

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free

Probably Atlus related.

Good result. Big increase over Eve Burst Error R, right?
It is, but they have nothing to do with each other aside from both being remakes of old games. Eve Burst Error R was developed by a different company (El Dia) and you should look for the sales of the DESIRE remake out next month by the same company if you want something to compare Eve to.

All of it feels like a cheap attempt to cash-in on Hiroyuki Kanno's works after his death without really understanding why they were so beloved by fans to begin with. I'm sure there are people who will enjoy these remakes, but they're all so lifeless to me.

So looks like I was wrong, no early sales report, huh.

I imagine MHXX in particular is getting review bombed because Capcom kinda promised no expanded version. People already reacted badly to 4 Ultimate.

But they always say that.

Most of the 1 star ratings that are receiving lots of like are praising the game, but just stating that selling the 'G versions' as a full priced retail product in this day and age seems scummy when many other companies would just release something with this sort of content for DLC for those who own the original game for something like $10~$20.

I don't think there's a single hunting action game, outside of MMOs like MH Frontier, that sold their G version or equivalent as expansion DLC. They all force players to double dip.

Well, that's clearly something that will have to change with the next main entry. Right now, I assume Capcom considers selling an expansion as stand-alone title more profitable than releasing DLC.

One way they could do it would be to release both the add-on as DLC AND releasing retail copy at the same time. They could throw in some extras, similar to the physical releases of F2P titles, to entice players to buy the physical version.

Oh, I had thought Eve was 5pb, whoops.

I don't think Desire will do very well.

The blog posted hints for MHXX's numbers and it sold 850K copies? Credit goes to a poster on Sokuhou@Hokanko(Alt) for probably solving the puzzle.

Tank=ノモンハン=Monster Hunter XX
Kimono=八十八(in the description)=880K
Screwdriver=マイナス3=880-30=850K

If that's the case, bye bye 2 millions forecast for March.

Slight correction: PYS 2015 is the last entry released by Konami. I don't know why Konami decided to abandon the series, at least for now, even if the last entry sold less than 2014, but not dramatically lower. Is it due to licensing costs going so up that the ROI became smaller? It did't even release on PS4 yet (yes, PYS 2015 was on PS3 and PSV, despite releasing on March 26th, 2015).

Also, unless there are surprising announcements, this should be the first time in several years (if not ever) there is no new baseball game from Konami.

Mhxx seems like a mismanagement of the MH brand. I honestly think they should have made it cross platform with Switch, à la MH3U.

3U on WiiU came out later though - thats whats happening again...Capcom wants people to double dip. They know the hardcore 1-2m will get this release...and the same people will get the much better Switch/HD version.

They also had RE7 this FY...so if MH5 isnt happening before fall 2018 or so i can see why they would wanna be able to release another MH title next year to maximize their profits.

....but i also agree that its not a good look and Capcom might be testing the patience of the fans at this point. I expect the HD/Switch to look much better than just the 3DS game in HD - so it will already have a next-gen taste before we get MH5.

Oh Yes you're right WiiU came after...

Maybe their G version tradition should stop and leave the place to a cheaper DLC model.

I still expect MH5 to somewhat emulate Destiny's DLC delivery. It'd let Capcom milk MH5 players for multiple years while they work on MH6 or Generations 2.

Tbh, it's been a puzzling forecast from the beginning, and even with Switch version 2m in just two weeks was never really guaranteed.

The blog posted hints for MHXX's numbers and it sold 850K copies? Credit goes to a poster on Sokuhou@Hokanko(Alt) for probably solving the puzzle.

Tank=ノモンハン=Monster Hunter XX
Kimono=八十八(in the description)=880K
Screwdriver=マイナス3=880-30=850K

So that would give:

MH4: 1.715.060
MH4G: 1.446.289
MHX: 1.488.367
MHXX: 850k

Roughly 300k drop for MH4 > MH4G, but 600k drop from MHX to MHXX. Definitely on the lower end of expectations. Not surprising for MHX expansion, but still disappointing. Still waiting for official numbers, but it's not like there's much to expect.

XX just feels unnecessary. X wasn't the kind of game that needed an expansion the way the mainline games did. It was already a sort of Greatest hits title with experimental gameplay. The sales don't surprise me. I think its success really caught Capcom off guard, and they went really bullish with the sales forecast for the expansion. I don't think a Switch version would help much though.

A Switch version of XX would be lucky to sell 1 million in Japan, depending when it comes out of course. But it'd probably do really well in the West.

The name of the game should be Kingdom Hearts HD I.V + II.V ReMIX.

Since roman numerals don't have place value, the idea of a meaningful decimal point for them goes somewhat out of the window.

Not that that would necessarily stop the company that came up with X-2.

Let's get ready, third week launches:

Wii - 108.237 / 544.034
3DS - 96.463 / 680.850
PSV - 42.648 / 439.986
WiiU - 122.843 / 557.901
PS4 - 35.294 / 410.133

Let's see how many units Switch sells this week.
Since Wii U was a failure, everything below its numbers should be considered a bomb.

O:)

Monster Hunter XX never had a chance to ship 2 million units for this fiscal year, but I didn't expect it to miss the target by that much (I'm talking about months ago). Now it seems that at most they will be able to ship around 1.3 - 1.4 million.

Rough year for the franchise, Monster Hunter Stories failed miserably to attract the audience they were looking for and now the next title with the classic formula underperforms. In hindsight, perhaps it would have been better to release this one during November or December. I understand though they didn't want to launch XX just 1 or 2 months after Stores, they would hope Stories had better legs that last until Holidays.

A Switch version of XX would be lucky to sell 1 million in Japan, depending when it comes out of course. But it'd probably do really well in the West.

Capcom would be very glad if a Nintendo Switch version of Monster Hunter XX was able to sell 1 million units in Japan.

Yeah, none of the HD versions of previous games managed to do that, no way MHXX would be able to. (Well, it could if they added lots of additional content, but chances of that happening are low).

Just like MH3U, a MHXX Switch release would be primarily aimed at the west.
