I was surprised this was not exclusive (not believing this blog post). Basically if this Crash came on MS's conference or Nintendo's, nobody would give a fuck for the most part in terms of building hype (gaffers would care but I mean general public). Sony basically had all the cards and they still couldn't close the exclusive deal out of it.

If it wasn't exclusive, would that really have prevented you from wanting to get it the day it comes out?

Yes considering it could be coming to PC because rumours were the game was running at 4k/60 on 'PC' from a on floor representative at a show. Also chances of it being on the xbox could lead into a big Scorpio patch once again having a chance at 4k/60.

If you want more thinfoil hat stuff, the email makes zero mention of Neir being any kind of console exclusive where as every other game has a giant PS4 exclusive / Console exclusive / exclusive content sticker on it.

do you really think this will get a PC release ?

Crash is an Acti IP, Acti owns all of the Crash games aside from CTR (which isn't included), the trilogy is being developed by an Acti-owned studio, and Acti alone is publishing it. There's more reason to suspect temporary exclusivity than perpetual exclusivity.

A post from a playstation twitter is being trumped by a playstation label? really?

Sony labels have been all over the place this gen, when it comes to third-party exclusives.

This should be a fun thread

This whole exclusivity conversation is crazy. I still am not convinced this is full exclusive.

I find it strange that the activision blog posts never mention platform when posting news about this game. Even if not exclusive they could say it is coming to PS4 on June 30

Yep, I still kinda doubt it is full exclusive as well.
But if it really is only time exclusive (and that should already known by Sony because of their deal) then they should really stop using a banner like this. It would be embarrassing to see if a year later the "PS4-exclusive" banner isn't so true anymore.

Activision IP, made by a Activision studio. No actual mention of exclusivity in any press release at all. Yes, there will be a PC version. Probably Switch too, wouldn't surprise me.

Are there any examples of a game on PS4 that had the "PlayStation Exclusive" logo on it that later released for other platforms?

Well Arkham Vr had the "Playstation VR Exclusive" logo but alongside it with white letters it was explained that it would only be timed exclusive.

So unless Activision/Sony start slapping these logo with some additional information on the side, like they do with Destiny's exclusive content. Then it's best to assume that Crash is exclusive.

Devs have already stated that the only reason Nier Automata doesn't have a port to Xbox due to there not being a big enough audience in Japan.
What source code? The game is remade from the ground up specifically to avoid that particular issue.
They were given access to level geometery data to recreate the levels one-to-one.

There was a very similar situation with Dragon Quest Heroes. Even "It'll be a PS4 exclusive until 2016" wasn't true as the PC version released on December 3rd.

They're remakes, not remasters, and again Sony isn't funding the project.

Personally, I don't see why Crash would be on any console except PlayStation? It's basically seen as a PlayStation brand. Some franchises such as Tomb Raider, RE, Crash, etc. are simply seen as branded to PlayStation. Crash would barely sell on Xbox or any other platform not named PlayStation.
