There are many other cuckold situations in pro wrestling. Chris Candido letting "the boys" have unlimited shots at Tammy Sytch comes to mind. And fresh off of last week's Hall of Fame ceremony, Dallas Page letting his boss, Eric Bischoff, take extreme sexual liberties with his wife, Kimberly, resulted in a "push" that got him the world title.

Just an unbelievably scummy industry overall.

FYI: This post is mostly speculative horseshit based on unsubstantiated rumors spread by unreliable sources.

Yep. I didn't know much about JBL other than the rumors of him being a rough worker, until this. Watching it in slow mo and focusing on JBL / BLue Meanie is crazy.

He's a dick. Blue Meanie got shafted in the "settlement" deal too ... he took winning a PPV match (or title?) over suing the company for some reason.

Search youtube for blue meanie shoots, he recently explained everything. Long story short; JBL is a piece of shit.

Now if that poster said John Morrison allowing his girlfriend to not only have sex with other wrestlers, but also watch, leading to Vince not respecting him as a man, then maybe the post would be better.

Also Vince is the carniest motherfucker

Never heard the Kimberly thing before but there are plenty of shoot videos where guys say Tammy slept around and Candido knew it. I wouldn't call it a cuckold thing as he didn't so much endorse it as he did live with it. I believe this was mentioned in a Raven shoot years ago.

That Sunny was cheating on Chris is well substantiated, and she admits having an almost year-long affair with Shawn Michaels, but framing it like Chris was farming her out to the boys is bullshit.

If you're going to take every single thing that's ever been said in a Wrestling shoot seriously, you will believe many outlandish contradictory things. Do you also think Bret Hart constructed the screwjob and the Shockmaster had narcolepsy, which led to him falling through the wall?

Tammy admits to sleeping around, she claims she had a serious relationship with HBK who wanted to move in with her.
But Chris didn't let it happen, he just didn't have the power to do anything about it. The top guy in the business is fucking your girl, and you're a 5'8 nobody. By all accounts he was miserable and suicidal because he was so in love with this woman who was fucking around on him every chance she got.

The Kimberly thing is pure bullshit though. It came out of some rumor about Eric and DDP having a wife swap.

Yeah, and not only this but Candido had pretty good reason to be scared for his job if he made something out of his wife sleeping around with one of the biggest stars in the company. Wouldn't have been the first or last time that WWE favored their stars over a boring midcarder even when the star is obviously in the wrong.

dream very much knows the industry. whatever his eccentricities. Considering everything that has gone on in the industry, nothing he wrote is all that outlandish.

"Knowing this industry" is kind of hilarious.

There's no "insiders" club of knowledge in pro wrestling. Between the sheets and all the shoot interviews - everyone knows fucking everything. Everything he's said has been confirmed, denied and everything in-between dozens of times in public by people who were actually there.

Good to see more main stream coverage. I hope this reaches WWE's sponsors.

Mauro Ranallo was the best thing to happen to wwe commentary in decades.

What's a shoot? An interview or promo?

Glad this thread was finally made. Glad Sports Illustrated is finally covering the story.

Watching Smackdown tonight and seeing JBL play a 100% face, not burying any talent, not giving Byron ANY shit whatever... It's clear the top brass at the company knows about this is and told him to lay off. Even if this doesn't lead to direct consequences for Layfield, I really hope this leads to a change within the company. This is some repugnant shit and a pockmark on a business which already struggles with legitimacy.

You go back to that 2015 Stone Cold / Vince podcast and hear Vince go off on how everyone is friendly and no one reaches for brass ring. I can't help but wonder how much of brass ring entails this bullshit hazing culture we are discussing.

And to add to what others are saying, hazing isn't a wrestling industry thing. It's a cultural thing that happens to also manifest itself in that industry just like any other corporate.

A shoot is basically when the show blurs into reality and gets real. A work is part of the show. A worked shoot is when real drama is brought into the show.

Joey Styles' promo where he "quits" commentary and rants about vince interfering with his job, heyman talking about vince stealing his legacy, Punks pipebomb, those are all well known worked shoots. Leon White (vader) going off on that one TV interviewer when he calls wrestling fake is a shoot.

Stephanie: "We're getting horrible PR from the years, if not decades of bullying that JBL has carried out."

Vince: "Better turn him face."

It's weird how much of JBL's bullying comes down to erotic type things. Walking into a guys shower with a cowboy hat and soaping their ass is very.....interesting.

Wildcard berths that can't beat teams without a winning record should have homefield advantage
Hold up is this DDP thing true? If so holy shit, never heard that.

Nope. DDP got his push because 1) he worked hard and 2) Nash and Hall liked him and put in a good word with Bischoff.

The guys in NPJW in that post above who made the younger guys drink each other's semen goes all the way there I think.

DDP is strange because dude was monster over in 97 and 98, but when he won the title in 99 it didn't work, at all. Fans didn't buy him beating the big guys.

Nah. By then:

1. WCW was already towards their downward spiral.
2. I honestly think his bad-guy role in "Ready to Rumble" didn't help either...
3. While the Karl Malone angle was cool, he was dragged along with the Jay Leno and David Arquette ones, too.

Yeah as the other fellow up there said, I thought the audience was just done with the company as a whole. Everything that happened in 99 was met with a big wet fart noise from the fans. They kinda popped for Booker T but mostly they just looked like angry and sad abused lovers still hoping the relationship was salvageable despite knowing damn well it wasn't.

He's long been a piece of shit.
But that company as a whole is still a carny ass business masquerading as a corporate giant so this is no surprise.

Shawn and his Kliq boys were a big reason he felt unhappy there and overall became a mess. One of many people they were messing with, or at least made miserable.

I'm kind of surprised by the sudden collective decision of people in general to turn their attention to this at this time. This shit has been going on for years, but Mauro being missing from TV for a couple weeks is enough to raise eyebrows to the point where this is now getting serious attention.

I'm also kind of surprised that for all the fervor and passion people have about this, I don't recall seeing anyone organizing a way to get that message across to advertisers. How many advertisers do WWE have anyway? It seems like they play the same five commercials anytime Raw or Smackdown are on.

Also worth noting; as much as he deserves to get shittcanned for this, JBL has deserved to be fired for years, mainly because he is fucking awful at his job. I basically watched Smackdown on mute because of him.

Not surprised to hear once again about JBL (And HHH and McMahon) being utterly appalling assholes (Pretty surprised Striker seems to be as well though... wow.), but hopefully this will be the straw that breaks the camel's back and JBL gets sacked at last. It's only going to be fighting a symptom rather than the disease of course, but better to start somewhere than just hand waving shit like this forever.

Really put a smile on my face to read that Regal and Dreamer stuff though.

Zack Ryder put in the work, got himself over and grabbed one of Vince's brass rings only to have his hand slapped away and told "No, not you".
