Heard the vanilla version of this was pretty good?

edit: Ugh, ballsed up the title, can a mod fix please?

Hmm, as far as it goes, this is essentially Melty in everything but name, right?

I mean it certainly has a nonsensical Engrish title to top Melty Blood: Actress Again: Current Code.

Disappointed by lack of Steam release, but considering it only sold 16k I understand their reservations, even though I feel it's unfair to compare a late port with no hype to consoles.

A Steam port isn't going to be announced during Japanese console reveal.

They are not going to announce a possible Steam version in a Japanese magazine.

Whoa holy shit, Melty Blood (47k sales) actually outsold UNIEL?

Guess Type-Moon brand-power actually does mean something.

Sweet, finally coming to PS4. I'm all over this.

Why can't japanese games have normal titles?

The only normal Japanese game titles are, well... In Japanese. (IE, "Tsukihime", "Ryu Ga Gotoku", "Senjo No Valkyria)

English titles are 100% guaranteed to be bizarre meaningless Engrish. ("Fate/Stay Night", "Drag-On Dragoon" (Not exactly hard to see why a title like that gets localized))

Ok, with maybe a FEW exceptions, but those more than likely involved heavy vetting from a western branch (See Dark Souls and its list of scrapped names in particular)

By normal you mean conforms to western sensibilities?

By normal i mean a title that's not just a bunch of random foreign words and symbols, i mean such a title looks like a mess even to me that English isn't my language, i would prefer real Japanese titles(danganronpa, oreshika and so on for example).

The game has an incredible OST.
I skipped on the steam release in case this was happening, now I can get it on PS4 if this comes west.

The last UNIEL was a Plus freebie for PS3 a couple of months ago.
I'm yet to try it. (Too many fighting games at the moment).

Finally the update is coming to consoles, with at the very least 1 completely new character. I loved this game on PS3 and now I can play it on my PS4. Enkidu was the most "this is a playable character" design that I saw in UNIEL so I'm not surprised he's now playable.

Serious question: how is it that in this day and age Japanese developers still come up with stupid fucking engrish titles like this?

Oh yeah, I forgot about their strange aversion to announcing PC version at such reveals. Same thing happened with GG.

Plus it had a bit of EVO hype.

I enjoyed the game, but yeah not going to pay for another with a couple new characters.

New shirtless brown guy looks cool tho.

By normal you mean conforms to western sensibilities?

Imagine if the next Halo game was called Konichiwa Oyasumi Sugoi: 29-4/tuski-desu or some shit.

This is on the same level.

It's not adversion, it's just that they can't announce something that doesn't exist, lots of the japanese ports on Steam are western only releases and sometimes under different publishers.
And other publishers like Bandai Namco or Koei release their games on PC on western markets but not in Japan.

They picked english words that sounded cool. And I agree with them.

That's outrageous. None of those English words are cool. The only cool English words are exactly as follows:

Thimble, cork, taxiderm, crosshair, burgundy, expo, ringworm, and coconut.

Although burgundy is technically French.

UNIEL is one of the best fighters of the past 10 years. Looking forward to UNIST even if Linne is apparently nerfed.

It's not like the game hasn't already had a release on consoles, and even in the west. Why so many so shocked about the title now?

It's much nicer news that it's finally getting an updated console release. Quite happy to hear that; love the music of the game, love the overall gameplay, think it has some of the most gorgeous sprites and minute animation in recent memory... yet hate that it's been stuck on my PS3.

Cool to hear about a Vita port, too. Should look great on the system.
