Oh god, I've got MK8 and ARMS with Amazon because of that BIGTHANKS. Hopefully that shitty courier is for certain regions. My 1-2 Switch was just 1st Class Royal mail.

Well it's not a massive deal with MK8/Arms as Amazon will send you a replacment. It's more with stuff like Persona 5/ Fire Emblem Echoes where it is sold out so you can't get a replacement.

Yeah, it's still a pain in the arse I could do without. They were already late with MK8 for Wii U, I wouldn't mind avoiding that again.

Absolutely. Sorry I didn't mean to downplay the annoyance. It's super annoying. I just wanted to be clear that you will still get a replacement, just in case you weren't sure on that.

Basically every game I've ordered from Amazon has gone missing in the last few month months or so. All sent with Asendia

Persona 5
Nier Automata
Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5
Robinson The Journey
Steins Gate 0
Deus Ex Mankind Divided
2 copies of The Last Guardian

And also an SD card for the switch.

Yep, those are the same clowns who have my Persona. What did Amazon do in your case?

They sent out a replacement in most cases. For Persona 5 it was sold out so they gave me a refund. Luckily was able to get a copy in CEX but it was about 25 euros more than I had paid amazon so it was a pain.

Shit.

Edit: So I got fed up with waiting and got them to refund it, then bought it digitally from the US. I'm done with amazon for physical.

So who's good these days? I've had bad luck with base.com in the past - two out of three orders cancelled, the other one late.

So guys, Amazon.co.uk have still failed to deliver my Persona 5 and I'm livid. They used a crappy courier with 1 star and thousands of negative reviews on trust pilot, including several insinuations of theft.

They have told me to wait until 20th before they do anything, but I don't know what will happen then. The launch edition is out of stock, and the standard isn't due until 8th May.

There are third party sellers with stock, charging £80. Do you think there is any chance they will supply one of those?

Has anyone been in a similar situation with them? How was it resolved? I don't see how I'm going to get the game any time soon, and certainly not the version I preordered in January.

Of all the games they could screw me over on.

They used Asendia didn't they!?

I fucking ripped them a new one for that shit... They had to send me Xenoblade X 3 times, because the first two they used Asendia.

Guess what... 1 month and a half later, both copies arrived.

As soon as i see that they used that shitty courier, i know the game will not arrive or take a hell of a long time.

Yup. Have you seen their trustpilot page? It's embarrassing.

I just don't get why anyone would use Amazon for pre-orders anymore when you can get it early from Simply or TGC

On top of being cheaper or the same price sometimes.Prime, customer service, price matching & giftcards. Not intending to defend them ,just answering your quesiton, most people I know haven't had an issue with Amazon before and when they do they go above and beyond.

Pretty much this. I split my orders between Simplygames and Amazon depending on what I am ordering and I have personally never had an issue with Amazon.

Yeah there is a BoW WiiU selling at £20 I took a punt knowing it will never arrive but will just place a claim in with Amazon

The seller had tons of other stuff selling for super super cheap AS NEW, but not one review, "just started". Look at his fucking store!

I don't understand why people fall for these obvious scams

I mean sure yeah you'll probably get your money back, but there is no chance in hell that you'll ever get the item you bought. 0%. Why bother.

There is a ton of sellers like this popping up, all my amazon alarms got triggered by fake assholes, no alarms left.

I wonder what's causing the sudden surge and how the scam actually works. amazon has to have some protections in place so they don't actually pay them right?

I don't know how the process of selling on amazon works. Maybe someone can tell us when you get paid by amazon after you sell something. The seller that I posted has over 100 pages with all kind of items on sale and some of them are bestseller items already, but he has not one review! If he gets paid when "shipping" he would get paid a shit ton of money until a buyer reports him. And iirc the accounts are hacked, not new. That would mean they use confirmed accounts.

Have cdkeys started enforcing their 5% code 'limited to 2 uses per customer' rule on a code-wide basis? I'm unable to get a 5% code to work when trying to buy £20 of Steam credit. I'm logged in. Had no issues in the past with 50+ codes now I just can't get it to work. I've tried 3 codes today and none work.

Yeah they have, a friend of mine contacted support a week ago after having the same issue and this was their response:
Hello,

As informed, a customer will only be able to use the discount code upto 2 times in lifetime. I could check that you have already been using the discount codes on multiple orders and have already reached the limit of using the discount codes.

Unfortunately, you would not be able to use any further discount codes.

Hope this explains the situation

Yeah this really sucks, they were pretty much my go-to for all digital codes / currency. Now that's unlikely to be the case.

Response I got :

The discount code is given on fair usage basis, to be used only twice per user, which is mentioned on the Facebook discount page. However, most customers have been applying this to all their orders. Due to this pattern from many customers, we recently changed the terms. We certainly value you as an old customer, but unfortunately, going forward we'll be unable to offer this discount more than twice.

Hope this explains the situation.

They're usually cheaper even without the 5%, so I still go to them.

For games often, but outside of certain deals they're not for digital currencies really which is probably what 90% of my purchases from them was. E.g £20 Steam credit is 31p different.

You can just create a new account with a new email if you're desperate, yeah.

Either way, it's no surprise they did that, they've got quite a decent foothold now, so they can probably afford to cut some of the discounts....

by the way, my resident evil VII for 20 euros was cancelled immediately after purchase upon my request

no charges anywhere on my account after all these days....the transaction also disappeared from my history.

also, how can a hacker have access to your paying info?

EDIT: whoopss there it is in the cancelled tab like Mergesort said

The amazon scammers aren't after your payment information, since they don't have access to that, only amazon do. What they do get is your address and e-mail which apparently is worth it to them.
