Like, I entered a new zone and it was maybe 10 fps and restarted the game and a smooth 60 was achieved.

Given what people are reporting, that seems right. Some dudes get locked at 55 fps unless they run youtube in the background, other dudes have to alt tab out and back in after every mission load, and some people are just fine.

I eagerly await the weirdness I will experience when I get home.

Try this. Requires Tampermonkey (Chrome) or Greasemonkey (Firefox).

Purchase as a gift to get the extra copies of the games you already have.

Seems to work

But I find the price is too high. I own the two first games. The third game has been as cheap as 7 euro. So buying this bundle would cost almost 10 euro more :/

Picked a copy of Bad Company 2 for cheap and started it again. Man, they really should do one more of those and port the first one. Both things will probably never happen.

Gotta be honest, was expecting Kero Blaster to be more interesting both gameplay and character-wise. Is there a point in which it picks up? It seems so basic in comparison to Cave Story for example (though to be fair that wasn't terribly interesting until I'd played about 15% and subsequently become a favorite).

I just finished the Mass Effect Trilogy and I'm not outraged by the conclusion (went with Synthesis). In fact all in all not disappointed with it and felt that it was kind of touching. Am I wrong or did the extended cut ending additions manage to ameliorate all of the hate?

Also Clint Mansell and Sam Hulick's ending piece "And End, Once and For All" is great.

It helped a bit with giving a conclusion to individual characters, as a whole though, the final choice is an afwully lazy deus ex machina that contradicts some of it's own lore and was horribly set up.

It was not a good piece of writing.

I don't really understand this because the whole Crucible thing being a way to end the war was essentially what the third game was about. It was never made clear what it would do, so to call it a deus ex machina resolution doesn't quite fit for me. The ending wasn't completely pulled out of a magic hat without any prior signposting, which was what I was expecting.

The updated ending combined with the final DLC pack (the one with the party) helped me a lot in terms of closure. I am planning a 100% run of the trilogy (all DLC too) at some point in the future when I have a 4K tv and can downsample from 8K and have the controller mods set up and some of the texture packs and some slight save modifications to remove the resource needs. It's going to be most excellent.

I only had the From Ashes DLC for the third one because the others require Bioware points and are stupidly priced when taken in context. I'd love to have tried Citadel (the one you mention) but there's no way i'm paying more for one DLC than I did for the trilogy. The Shadow Broker dlc from 2 was great though.

I think there's a huge Elite Dangerous event on Friday.

People keep finding derelict generation ships around the Galaxy with creepy audio logs.

It's been a while and i'm too fuzzy on the details to give a good response. But the fact that it was never explained what it did is prescisely why it seemed as arbitrary as it did. They had to build the thing. It should be pretty obvious to them what it would do. Instead it's treated as an almost magical device, with a magical space kid, and choices with such big and huge ramification (like what would need to happen for synthesis to actually work) that could just happen on the push of a button without anything hinting at it before?

I wasn't angry or at the ending or anything. But the conclusion felt super lazy and not thought through. It felt like the writers wanted a big epic battle against the reapers but couldn't find a good way to justify the galaxy winning. And so we have a magical ancient space cannon.

Or to put it another way. Mass Effect 3's ending is not the culmination of various narrative threads from the trilogy. It's a completely unearned choice with 0 setup.

contrast that with how they concluded the Genophage, or the Quarian Story. The reaper plot thread was not nearly as fleshed out.

That's me :")
Lower GPU usage and 52 to 55fps. Dunno if it's power management related or framepacing.

Thanks....that actually makes a lot more sense to me as to why people were dissatisfied. Perhaps I'm just easily pleased, although truth be told I played through all three games over the last four or five weeks so I probably just had a lot less invested in them than those who played through during the release periods.

Hate to be a Debbie Downer, but the games are badly coded and don't scale the UI with resolution. Subs are nigh unreadable at 4K, can't imagine how tiny they will be at 8K

I was thinking about loading in and participating in the community event to get enough finances to participate in whatever galactic battle is coming.

I feel like every time there is something happening in the game, I am at least 3 days worth of flying aways from it... unless they make some global things I tend to just watch youtube videos of the pro players.

Well, I was wrong with Nier. I mean, if all sides are like the two I did they are crap, but the main plot is supergood, charming and fascinating.

Oh yeah, I totally forgot that. I would be fine if it was just subtitles, but dialogue choices are a necessity. Dammit.
