So, here's something I noticed: a lot of NPR and WNYC shows will cover roughly the same topic at around the same time. I think sometimes they even interview the same people, but I can't quite tell if it's the same person being interviewed multiple times (which makes sense, since they'd probably want to book multiple interviews at the same place on the same day) or if they just do one interview and edit it differently for each show. If it's the latter, I wonder who actually does the interview.
For example, today's Freakonomics Radio covers pretty much the exact same topicGoogle search dataas last week's Hidden Brain, and I think they even talk to the same guy. I noticed that one thing in particular that he says (that he thought racism in the US would be concentrated in the south, but it's actually more of an east-west split) appears on both shows, but the phrasing is different. I'm pretty sure a very similar topic was the focus of Note to Self a few weeks ago, as well.
This isn't even the first time I've noticed something like this. I think a few weeks ago, Nolan Bushnell did an interview that was on both How I Built This and Freakonomics.
Anyway, Freakonomics will have Steve Ballmer on next week, so I'll keep an ear out for whether he shows up elsewhere.
