What would you like to see in a Persona 5: Crimson? aka Persona 5: Golden

A lot of us are pretty far in the game or have beaten it already, so I thought it would be good to have a retrospective on what could be changed or improved in an updated version a la Golden.

Be sure to mark spoilers!

1. Make nights less restrictive. It's a bit ridiculous with the freedom the rest of the game gives you with picking activities you want to do.

2. Make Hifumi a playable character on the team.

3. It's about time navigators actually become playable in battle. This game makes it a little bit difficult seeing as Futaba is a NEET, but I'm sure she can get enough exercise to do it.

4. More stuff to customize MC's attic flat. A lot of the gifts you can buy in the game at first sound like something you could put in your room. Also actually let us clean the attic lol. You clean it and even have a maid over yet the place is still full of dust and miscellaneous shit.

5. Fix some of the pacing issues later in the game. Fixing up August and September to make everything tighter would be nice.

6. More dungeons would be nice. Microslices that aren't as big as the Palaces would be good. If we had twice as many Palaces in the game but they were all shorter would have been preferable. The social aspects of the game really overpower the dungeon crawling more so than I felt P3 and P4 did.

7. DLC Included of course. I'd like to see the character wear these outfits in their portraits and story sections. Also having the ability to have non phantom thief outfits wearable anytime including at school would be cool.

A lot of people are probably going to mention having a FeMC, but I imagine that would be a ton of work to add. P3P had the benefit of everything scaled down.

I don't care if feels kind of shitty to have to pay for a re-release to get this, but let me date Yusuke.

Also something I expect if it does get a re-release(BIG END GAME SPOILERS)
A way for Goro to not die and stick around. He was a good party member and having Debilitate is great.

EDIT: also up the variety in the music. The music should change after a certain point in daily life stuff and another battle theme.

Eww no. I want Futaba(and the skills she brings) to stay in the role she is in the party. Her being a regular member eliminates an entire gameplay element and frankly a good one.

Allow random battle music from the DLC. Each battle plays a different song. Also have some audio options maybe and let people watch cutscenes again in a theater.

No changes to story or dungeons. those bits are perfect.

There's maybe one or two Confidants they introduce early who have unusually high stat requirements, so I couldn't start them until much later. Otherwise, any mild QoL stuff would be nice.

Today I learnt I'm an idiot who absent-mindedly will click on any spoiler tag.

Also the correct answer is FemMC.

Sat alone in a boggy marsh
- At least two more confidants
- Maybe a couple more personas in each dungeon to increase variety/ random size some persona groups
- Two more confidants, member like Marie
- Costumes for each characters
- More music
- 1 extra side dungeon
- Try and increase frame rate and resolution
- PS Vita version

- Make Mementos better, it's a worse version of Tartarus, in that the music doesn't even change between sections. I found myself driving past all the enemies after the first trip because it was just so dull. The only time I actively fought random enemies was for the platinum (farming for the eternal lockpick and futaba's lines).

- Stop blocking out the entire bloody day when you've got something happening the next day. Oh we're going out tomorrow evening, better go to bed early else you might not wake up in time for 6pm. *eyeroll*

- Add Haru around the school before she actually joins, like what happens with Makoto, so maybe we actually care a bit more for her.

- Add an extra month or so, and fix up the story from October onwards. At the moment it feels like they rushed a lot of story into the final stretch of the game, and it's really weirdly paced too. It means you have such long stretches with loads of story without being able to play the game part. You can also use this time to make Haru and Akechi's characters a bit less... abrupt. Haru gets introduced without much fanfare due to other story taking over and Akechi, well... (Palace 7/Dec spoilers)
You find out he's the traitor, and then next time you meet him it's the tragic final encounter where he's insane and then sacrifices himself straight after....

- Fix some of the pacing issues in a few of the dungeons (namely 5 and 7). Interesting ideas but over-used.

I'd like a female protagonist, but I feel like you'd have to redo a lot of the game for it so I don't see them doing it. 9 out of 17 non-story social links are females who you can date. There's not many social links at all which are.... "boyfriend" material in comparison. So you're going to have to change a lot of social links for it to work. Never mind the main story dialogue itself if they wanted to do what they did with P3FMC, where the tone is a bit different.

i hope they make something new next. there is no need to alter P5, the game is finished and fine as is.

but if they absolutely have to i'd like many more dungeons and rebalanced challenges with new demons locked to the hardest difficulty mode.

Easy question

Spaceghost
The way the game is set up I think we are more likely to see the second version as more of an FES than a golden. By that I mean some tweaks here and there to the main game and a second scenario:

The second scenario would focus around
Goro from before the game up to the palace 7 events
it would be styled similarly to the answer where it's mostly dungeons and story exposition during/ between.

FeMC; we know this time they actually considered it, unlike with Persona 4.

I'd like a female protagonist, but I feel like you'd have to redo a lot of the game for it so I don't see them doing it.

They did it for P3P. I'd rather have a fully rewritten FeMC route over than the half-assed extra scenario in Golden.

It still has more boyfriend material characters than Persona 4, which literally had zero. And P3P cruised by with just Akihiko, Shinjiro and Ken. P5 has Ryuji, Yusuke and Goro (
who they would need to rewrite like they did with Shinjiro in P3P, admittedly
).

Never mind the main story dialogue itself if they wanted to do what they did with P3FMC, where the tone is a bit different.

Well, that's the main reason I'm interesting in a FeMC; playing as Hamuko in P3P was a completely different experience because most of the dialogue was rewritten.

Introduce Haru earlier. Have her be somewhere in the school to talk to way before her introduction as s party member, like Makoto.

1. Vita.

2. Change twins rank 10 skill.

2. Remove network fusion (or cap it at MC level).

3. More "special" events.

4. Change awakened personas (most look bad compared to the normal ones).

5. Vita.

A New chapter, new place: MT fuji, more development in the School trip, Like a mission there would be cool.

That you can buy this as a dlc for ps4.

SLink with shiho

A proper closure to a certain Vilain.

I don't think they will add costumes DLC. Those are like 7 bucks each. With battle music from other games. Perhaps if Crimson might come out in a year or two.

1. Vita is dead.

2. Excuse me? That was one of the absolute best skills in the game.

5. Still dead.

A new Mary Sue protagonist who adds very little to the story, but somehow still becomes a black hole that consumes the game

I want the All-Out Attacks finisher image to actually feature the party members in the DLC outfits that they are wearing.

Also, if Futaba is doing the cutscene where's she is giving me buffs, I want her to appear in her DLC outfits as well. It's a waste only seeing her in those outfits only at the entrance of dungeons or the safe rooms.

Portability - I haven't been able to dig in past the first dungeon due to work/life obligations
FeMC - just to have more replay value.

I'd only like a few small fixes, not a complete overhaul.

I wouldn't mind Hifumi as a playable character. I'm not sure why, but to me she's designed visually as a main character and the skills you learn from her make her seem like she'd be good in combat.

Obtain the perk that lets you go out at night a lot sooner.

I'd like less loading screens when going through palace doors. A lot of them are unnecessary considering how small some places are and just make enemies respawn way too often.

More spoken English dialogue.

An extra month or two. I really liked that in P4G. Though I wouldn't expect this. But it'd be nice.

No changes to the story, let characters who live or die or disappear stay that way. The Persona games have a perfect balance between player choice and it's own narrative.

And for the love of god, just let people who own the game already buy this as a $20-$30 patch.

She was actually supposed to be a party member. She was likely going to be the strategist of the team.

I'm not on about just the main characters. Like Persona 3 had a bunch of social links in the school that they could have used for the female main character, along side what they already had in the main cast. Admittedly they didn't use them in the end. But that is what it is.

In comparison it feels like Persona 5 was designed very early on with a male MC in mind. There's just not as much variety in the social links, with over half of the non-story ones being there as romance options for men.

There's Yusuke, Ryuji, Akechi (if they made his SL non-story), Iwai if they wanted to go for that angle(not sure if they would what with the start of the game....) and Mishima (no idea who would pick him though.....). That doesn't really open many options.

Don't get me wrong. I'd love a female option, I'm a woman for gods sake, I'd love to be able to play as my own gender more often. I just feel like it's pretty clear ATLUS decided on a male MC very early on and designed the game around that. I just don't see them going to the effort to remake the game that much. I mean I wish they did, but I don't see it happening when they can do all these spin offs everyone seems to love instead. I hope I'm wrong, of course.

A cat that doesn't make me go to sleep every fucking night!!

Please Morgana, let me train, take care of my plant, go to Shinguku or Shibuya, bathhouse, improve my proficiency building things, make coffee and curry,...

And not only for PS4, also for Switch, One and PC.

1) ok.. but understendably this is only an issue for mid-game..
2) i'd dig!
3) nah.. i would rather have some sort of control over the support.. like specify via some menu if you want the "random" action to be "support" (buff) or "aggression" (start battle @ talk//all out option)
4) mmm ok..
5) no.. if anything give us 1//2 extra confident step... 1-->10--> captured heart --> captured heart makes it so that their bonus abilities unlock carry over in FULL
6) agreed, but i'd appreciate more palace and that's that.. the concept of one palace per sin is great for lore, but i'd like to have also some more "conceptual" palace.. like the palace for those who facilitate injustice via omission... or stuff like that..
7) ok but not a deal breaker
8) second awakening.. it would REALLY, REALLY make for a better pace if you had a first awakening at level 5 and a second at level 10... PLUS at level 10, on top of second awakening they should get
a) increased skill slot from 8 to 14... i mean this way you make them more competitive than the mc just cycling through his persona.. mc's persona will still be at 8 as he isn't "fused" with his other self, and has instead countless other self, the other party member instead have fully "fused" with their other self..
b) they get the possibility to re-select their skill among those that they have forgotten
c) they get a second line of spell.. just like they get a secondary resistance @confidant10, they should get the elemental spell line for THAT element :)

Localization revised to Atlus' usual standards. Not concerned with any specific story or gameplay additions, or other platforms.

Really just more locations and more characters. Maybe find a way to make some dungeons less tedious. And also give it so me on a handheld.

I just don't see much weight to your objections because P3P itself only had 3 romance options for the female protagonist (unless you count Aigis and Elizabeth) and they even created new characters for her social links.
