What would you like to see in a Persona 5: Crimson? aka Persona 5: Golden

More demons/personas. You get so few in comparison to the mainline SMT games, although I'd like to avoid the fusion accident only fuckery.

Oh I forgot one.

Steal the minigame team from Yakuza to redo all the activities.

I just don't see much weight to your objections because P3P itself only had 3 romance options for the female protagonist (unless you count Aigis) and they even created new characters for her social links.
It's hardly objections?

I'm just saying why I don't think ATLUS will do it. I even stated I hoped I was wrong.

All I want is a portable version. I haven't played Persona 5 (and most likely never will without a portable version)

Well, I'm just saying that they they already put in all the extra effort for P3P. The real objection is actually the abundance of anime cut-scenes. P3P only got away with it because it just removed them all.

Games honestly fine the way it is, I'd sacrifice a second edition of the game to bring us potentially a year closer to P6.

I doubt they can address my problems with story and characters so I don't care about those. But if they are doing a special edition then they should use the opportunity to experiment with the stuff and come up with ideas that can be used in the next entry.

- Make the stat building more dynamic and give us the option to build our stats even in dungeons. If I'm fighting a stronger enemy, then add to my Guts. If I manage to capture a Persona then add to my Knowledge. Give me an option to let the shadows go free after putting them in hold up, in exchange for getting more Kindness, etc etc

- At least have a few interconnected S-links that would affect each other.

- Give an overhaul to time management aspect of the game

- Add clubs to school and let us actually spend time to help those clubs become better (stolen idea from duckroll)

I'd like a school baseball team you can join after beating the first palace.

Seconding the suggestion to save after every day.

Remove the mute MC and make Ryuji the main character.

Edit the text of the game to 50% of what it was, and shorten the dungeons.

Special epilogue showing Ann and Ryuji's kid on his first day at Shujin. (lol)

edit: I think I should be clear that the last sentence there is a proposal rather than a spoiler!

1. Improve endgame pacing a bit, and make the days etc generally a tad less restrictive.

2. FemMC. I would say keep all the default romances + add ones for suitable male confidants, but it might be tricky to make it seem like everyone is there to be romanced.

3. Go too far down the fan service rabbit hole and have a late game tv show where the og Detective Prince threatens to take down Akechi, and remark about how their chief enforcer loves meat.

4. Other QoL improvements, I suppose. Maybe shore up some of the translation issues, if budget allows. Let Futaba etc have a more active role in battle, either as properly playable or some customization about her focusing on X or Y.

5. Tease their fantasy rpg game by letting the MC buy it but never play it.

6. Either remove or rewrite the gay couple sos they aren't portrayed as joke characters/predators.

I can't think of anything wrong about the game at the moment other than I can't take screenshots.

Also, I hate to portbeg but Vita or Switch please

That's an excellent way to ruin the game.

It could make a mediocre game great. Loved Ryuji, hated the empty cardboard box that passed for a main character. Watching Ryuji cluelessly shout and swear his way through 22 soul-links would be great.

Would love to be able to unlock more skills on my party members, especially one additional element. Many of their movepools are pretty contested already though.

More time in general would be fun, though its hard to figure out where it would slot in.

More Personas, love me some fusin'.

Would also love more party members like Hifumi, but I think that requires more work than they will actually do.

A couple extra Social Links related to the school, like a club activity or student + Gay romance options.

Within the abilities of new Confidants, I'd like to see "Visit Metaverse in the evening."

Playable days between
Valentine's Day and the end
; either lighthearted, character-driven activities or just more free time.

More one-and-done timed events (Makoto wants to explore some new part of town and there's unique dialogue there, but if you miss it, that's gone.)

Re-write/re-design the gay men in Shinjuku. I don't think this came from a mean-spirited place on ATLUS' part, as MC and Ryuji come across as the homophobic macho teenagers (and ATLUS has a good history with these issues), but the clothing/mannerism caricature is cringe-y and unnecessary.

I'd rather have a new male party member than a re-worked Akechi. That's a story change I'm not down with. His downfall and tragedy is important.

Rework Merciless difficulty with NG+ in mind. Damage multipliers for friend and foe alike, BUT don't penalize us with drastically reduced XP and Yen. I'd just love a difficulty that's designed and tailored for the player who's bringing forth a 100% Compendium.

Nintendo Switch, and I don't even own one. In lieu of Sony imitator, that's the only option for the console-portable hybrid experience I want.

EDIT: A lot of folks are saying less restrictive nights. I'm having a hard time sorting my feelings on this one. Those restrictive moments happen during story sequences where ATLUS doesn't want narrative distractions from a sequence of conversations or reveals. I totally respect that, and the breaks in your room give you a chance to save. I also like seeing what's new on TV or getting a comment from Morgana on what happened that day, so even if I embrace the idea of the story just flowing from day to day, I don't want to give up those small moments.

At the same time, I can't deny that it can be annoying and occasionally feels unnecessary when the day's events weren't that important. But there's also the complication that the length of the playable school year is very precisely set out for game balance, so that the average player not using a guide is only able to accomplish so much.

I have no doubt this is coming eventually. (put me down on the Vita train, that's where I own every persona release bar Q)

Its a shame there is no Female protagonist option, but does every RPG need one? I can understand in Pokemon etc where you are pretty much nameless, and voiceless, but it seems like a lot of effort. Help, Final Fantasy still doesn't have the option to choose male or female yet!

I really don't see how they could do all that much without heavily altering events of the game.

Main things I would like would be Haru having more of a role earlier so she is more fleshed out as a character. They already have parts where she shows up so this wouldn't be very hard.

More social links/school activities. Also shouldn't be too hard, maybe lighten up some of the restricted days to give more time for some of this.

Hifumi being a party member would be nice but the structure of the game has them join with a dungeon and there is just not room to add another full one, I can't see it happening without feeling half assed.

Post game
getting that feb -> march time skip would be cool just for character moments, but I don't know how that would work with confidants since mementos would be gone and they can't do a post game dungeon since they got rid of the metaverse.

I think they're in a tricky spot for anything Golden like. But they could do QoL stuff or general smoothing out of some parts.

My only request would be that to flesh out more the characters. Make them interact them more between them and not only wit the MC. For such a group of friends, they rarely see them do stuff together if it's not with the MC.

I feel that the best moments of the team is when they're together and we can see how they interact with each other (Yusuke and Futaba banter, Ryuji and Ann playfulness/flirting, etc).

Special epilogue showing Ann and Ryuji's kid on his first day at Shujin. (lol)

edit: I think I should be clear that the last sentence there is a proposal rather than a spoiler!

I agree with this :D

  • Gay romances
  • Remove MC death game over
  • More party members
  • FemC
  • Remove the night fatiguing from story activities. Mementos/Dungeons ending your day is a fine balance choice. Sending my calling card or having a fun day out with my friends shouldn't exhaust my character so that he can only sleep.

Can't think of much more. Obviously I'd like more new content. More bosses. More outfits. Would love to customize my parties persona-outfits with a few set thematic options, etc. New social links, like Shino. Make Sae romanceable.

Funnily enough I'm not sure I agree anime cut-scene stops them of all things. Persona 5 doesn't have a massive amount of them, and quite a few of them are reserved for fan-service that the game could probably do without anyway...

I dunno, I guess we'll see. they didn't seem particularly enthused by the idea of a female MC in 5, see this thread.

My only request is a new storyline for Makoto's social link.

Edit: Except her rank 1 event. That one is good.
A feMC would require a lot of events be at least subtly if not significantly re-written, which is two birds with one stone if you factor in that there'd be no choice but to give the localization team a second crack at translating new text.

Oh boy where do I start.

I really enjoy the game as is but there is space for a tune up.

1. Most important upgrade for me: More character moments. Hanging out with the team, conversations with each other, Goofing around. I felt like the p4 crew had more of these moments which make them feel more like friends than the p5 crew.

Ending Spoilers:
I wonder if there is a post game event planned. The name of the trophy you get for reaching the true endings is "A New Beginning". Hope there is more to come after the main story.

2. A relocalization for the script. Not a huge issue for me but I find myself checking back on the log to try to make sense of the dialogue. I didn't play with english voices so reading is vital to playing the game.

3. A better introduction to Haru and earlier start to the social link.

4. Seeing as we can designate party members through the stat screen, why not make us pick the navigator as well. You can make choices between Futaba, Morgana or Hifumi as navigators and you can make them party members as well. Give them different Navigator skills.

5. A dungeon where I can make use of my high level personas. Any level 70+ persona makes the game too easy.

6. Be able to choose music in Mementos.

7. More music for events, moments, character interactions. Not that the current soundtrack is lacking. More persona music is just nice.

Skills for party members beyond level 75. Between this and the lack of an extra-hard dungeon, little incentive to keep going to 99.

I'd love more of the obscure SMT demons. Mastema should be in every Megaten game, he's iconic.

The game DESPERATELY needs more battle themes. There's one song in particular that is absolutely amazing, but it's reused multiple times and loses its charm.

I recommend taking a lot of the time skips (exams) and adding new, special events. I know exams feel like a blur in real life, but there's no reason why you can't spend the evening studying or working.

I'd love more rare special events, like Devil Survivor. In that game you have to choose subplots over other subplots, and in general it's impossible to do everything in one play through unless you follow a guide.

Already has been said to death, but FeMC.

Also, try to get this portable. Had a better time playing P3P and P4G than FES thanks to being portable. Either on the Switch or Vita.

Yeah, Vita is impossible by now.

- More variety of battle themes and end battle animations, hearing and seeing the same stuff play is awesome the first hundred times, not so much the next thousand

- end battle summary on one screen, i know triangle ffwds but still would be nice

- an outdoor dungeon, i want to run around some fields and forests

Also i wnt some real maid action

Hifumi playable, like the devs wanted at first, is all I'm asking! She diserves her own arc.

And yeah of course more dungeons, etc.

- Make guns not shit
- Add music / battle dialog variety
- Somehow give Haru more time to exist

I don't think the pacing can really be improved because the story wraps up at a non-movable time.

"Never said I wasn't a hypocrite."
Spoilers for 5, but instead of
the twins simply merging, it'd be cool if you had to go through a dungeon for that and potentially
have to earn that instead of having it given to you.

Also, Becky as a party member and put P5C on the Switch.
