just buy the system if you really really want to play it ffs (and you can also buy other games) rather than having hopes and dreams coming to x system

To be fair I think this is due to the weird back and forth about whether or not the game is releasing elsewhere. If it has a possibility of coming to other platforms that people might already own then those people will want to know instead of buying a console to play it. It's not like people are asking for Uncharted or something. I personally own a PC and a PS4 and if possible I'd like to buy this for PC so I am also curious.

I don't know if it means much but a friend of mine did some research and found N. Sane being listed on the Taiwanese Game Rating site:

Now correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't Square Enix almost always usually handles Activision's games in Asia?

i bought mine at a cheap price though, like $200 including 5 games.

The other problem is that if you really want it for say X system but they released a port of it for Y system (this is post the PS4 release), wouldn't also that be a waste of energy? It's really hard to pin your hopes and dreams into one game coming to another system because who knows, this game might come out for Switch only, or Xbox One only, or even PC only, heck maybe Vita only.

Like I said, if you really do care about the game and you really want to play it, you gotta buy that system rather than taking the waiting gamble.

Tbh a full year of exclusivity isn't half bad!

I'm already planning on picking it up, if it drops on PC I may get it there too to have it in the archives somewhere down the line

Hopefully this does well enough to warrant a spyro remake

I'll buy the Switch version if that's true, it's not that easy to see a 3D traditional Sonic game, a 3D Mario game and a Crash Bandicoot game on the same system

Oh, I don't really need games close to release. It's fun having a game early but there's always something else to play. So if it comes to PC next year I'll buy it then because that's where I'd rather play it. If not then I'll pick it up for PS4 and it'll be cheaper. Between now and then I'll play the other games that I like or am looking forward to.

are you suggesting this game is being moneyhatted? there's no definitive proof yet.

but in general, i do think its anti consumer but all of todays players have a history of doing so.

Wasn't suggesting anything, I was just asking how you felt about money hatted 3rd party games. Your post was....interesting.

I don't get it. If you love a game, you should love more people getting to play it. Like, if Sony developed it internally I'd understand people wanting it only on Sony consoles, but it's a (seemingly) entirely third party game. I have a PS4 and I'll probably get it on PS4, but it coming to something else down the road doesn't somehow hamper my enjoyment of the game. There's no real reason to glad that something is exclusive except console warrior-itis.

I'd probably double dip for a Switch version just for dat portability.

Who cares if it is or isn't.
Fanboys?

Honestly I don't even understand who is excited for this at all. I thought people wanted a new modern Crash game.

There are litterly fanboys who act like a game is no longer as good once it's not exclusive.

I'll get it day one on PS4.

If it ends up on Steam after the exclusivity deal, I'll buy it too to play in 4K.

If it ends up on Switch I'll get it to play anywhere.

Just fucking give me my Crash Trilogy! I'm just glad this game is something that exists. D:

lol this doesn't work on gaf where more people port beg than play.

Also yea Mario Maker itself was worth getting a Wii U for. TMS etc = bonus.

Doesn't Sony own the publishing rights to the first 3 games? I could see a PC port down the line, but I don't see Crash 1-3 coming to a competitor console. Sony has enough of the market share that it wouldn't be a huge loss not to make it exclusive. I could be wrong of course.

I do like that GAF thinks it's going to flop though. It gives me a lot of confidence in the game. That and all of the non gamers of various ages and genders I see who are excited about this. "New" Crash games have often been a complete mess. Seeing the OG games being treated with respect restores confidence in fans, is good for buzz, and restores the series dignity in a lot of ways. After that, I would be more open to more original entries.

It doesnt bother me if Crash is a console exclusive or not, but why would 1 year console exclusive excerpt be in a best buy promo ad?

Either someone dropped a big ball on this one or it's fake.

Yup, that part is very strange. Also it seems like they would have used the real box art if this was some official marketing. As of now I'm still assuming that this is fake and that the game is PS4 exclusive. If not then I'll just consider it a pleasant surprise.

i never port begged for that one. and even if ps4 owners supposedly pb that game, the instances of pb for ps4 only titles FAR outweigh the former

Based on what exactly you say that? I'm pretty sure I see, quite constantly, people port begging or wishing for games that are or once were exclusives to a different platform, such as Bayonetta 2 and Dead Rising, among many others. Games that are not on PS4. I mean, how often you go into MS threads, where everyone wanted everything on PC? (I say wanted, cause noawadays that's actually a thing)

I think your imagination may be tricking you. PS4 is really great, but it's not that special...

The more consoles it's on the more it will sell.
The more it sells the more chance I get of a brand new Crash game.
That can't be bad.

Usually Sony is pretty clear about what type of exclusives they have. It is odd that Crash of all games is the one they decided to be muddy about. Like I've seen some twenty different claims now all based on wildly different types of evidence.

There's no reason for this, and they need to respect consumers and be honest about what the fuck the deal is with this game. You don't have to market to Switch or XBO versions, but admit you've got a timed deal or some shit already.

I of course play games and not systems so I'm going to buy the version which fundamentally has the best of it thanks to framerate and resolution etc, but I bet Switch owners would like to know the gimped version is in fact coming eventually one way or the other. It'd probably sell well on Switch too.

Sony own the code for the first three games.

Maybe they are waiting until E3 to drop the exclusivity bombshell. Maybe Sony is still trying to play ball and convince Activision to keep it exclusive and that's we haven't gotten any official confirmation on what this is. I'm just speculating of course I got no insight or knowledge about videogame business. Anyways I'll buy it June and double dip on whatever it ends up hitting just to show Activision that we want CTR as well.

That is a sad opinion to have. People who own a different platform than you aren't your enemies.

Not a surprising one though.

As for the exclusive talk, people should just be patient. As far as I'm concerned, considering Sony is the kind of company to plaster exclusive on anything, as far as going to the console exclusive/exclusive dlc for 30 days reach, it speaks volume to me that they're so evasive regarding Crash.

No, sadly not.

Wasn't there a lot of confusion about the console exclusive/console debut/ ps4 exclusive labels they used? I seem to remember some games being labelled incorrectly, although I can't say for sure.

There have been an accident or two over the years, but it's usually very clear.

Console Exclusive = Not coming to other consoles, but a PC version exists.
First on Console Exclusive = Basically equivalent to timed exclusive, and we usually find out how long in the press release that accompanies the announcement.
Only on PlayStation - Only found on a PlayStation platform, and nowhere else including no PC version.

They've tended to be very clear about their exclusives, unlike the way Microsoft enjoyed obfuscating their deals especially during the early XBO years, but this whole murkiness surrounding Crash is especially egregious considering how Sony typically behaves about this stuff.

They need to lean on their pro-consumer stances of the PS4 gen and be honest about the deal with Crash, because I am sure many XBO and Switch owners would like to know their options.
