Get Mads Mikkelsen on board

If they don't get Mads then I'm gonna be pissed.

I really, really hope this will follow the saga and not just be Random Contracts: The Series.

If it follows the books, there's almost zero chance Triss will get naked
considering she has a huge scar across her chest and Geralt isn't that interested in her anyway.

I know the books but I also know the games and sex sells. They wouldnt do that.

She's way too old, if they stay true to the books Ciri has to be 15-16 years old. Knowing television, they'll probably bump this up to 18 years considering some of the stuff she does in the books.

Granted, but there's no indication of timeline. Also, yeah, Saoirse wouldn't agree to nudity for the sake of nudity (in point of fact, she's done a couple of simulated sex scenes but no nudity), however I'd imagine the matter of Ciri getting her kit off is flexible rather than a requirement, to say nothing of the likely fact that some creative liberties are going to be taken, including with regard to adult content.

Characterisation is also important. Ciri was handled well in The Witcher 3, however Saoirse has spoken at length since doing Brooklyn about how important it is for women to portray strong characters rather than kowtowing or otherwise gravitating towards stereotypes and caricatures, so if Ciri were written as Geralt's damsel in distress, then, yeah, I couldn't imagine her being interested.

I should also note that my broaching of the idea wasn't some immature fanboy dream: in addition to what I've already said, Saoirse has mentioned that she's open to the idea of doing what people now tend to refer to as "prestige TV" (i.e. a limited-run series backed by strong creative talent).

I think if they were going to spend GoT money on it, the lead production house would not be the Polish studio who did the Witcher cinematics. This seems like a home grown passion project rather than a Hollywood blockbuster deal.

The produce is Sean Daniel Company, who also produces other shows like The Expanse

No, they're the ones making it. That's why Tomek Baginsky is the first confirmed director. He is an animator.

No, they're not. I'm looking at actual press release for investors. It clearly specifies that if greenlight two people from Platige will perform specific services as executive producers, Platige will make some special effects and Baginski will direct some episodes.

doesn't that make it worse?

No it means he has East European blood running through his vains!

It is also not true.
Russian blood: Because he played 'The Russian' in Agents of SHIELD
Hawaiian blood: Because he is for some weird reason casted as a Hawaiian war hero in a new movie

Another thing that might make us think that it is an animated show is the fact that it's may and the Castlevania animated series still hasn't been officially announced.

Nice. And it's Netflix so bare minimum B quality.

Ah okay. I was wondering because Polish Russian relations are supposed to be awful.

They should get the guy/girl who did the soundtrack for Witcher 3 to score this series. Witcher 3 soundtrack was amazing.

I don't read Polish but is there anything there that actually states this is a live action series? Because I am still under the impression that this is a cg animation series that Platige will make. Because that's their primary business and Baginsky is an animation director.

How exactly? Russians and Polish are nearly indistinguishable in looks, especially men. At least, googling Polish I see the same type of facial features I see in Russians here in Tyumen (Russia).
because Poland seems to take pride in the Witcher series now and their history with Russia is rocky to say the least. With war crimes and decades of occupation in the last century as well as just recently annexing a sovereign former USSR region.

That's posted here and there's that says whether it's live action or animated. Sure, it lists the producers of The Expanse, but who knows.

In that case neither the English press release nor the Polish one state whether this is live action or not.

Yes! Knew this would happen sooner or later. The world and characters would be wasted without a TV/film adaptation. They can adapt nuch of the games as is (Bloody Baron, Heart of Stone...) because the writing is fantastic.

Well, assuming this is the same project Platigue announced last year, then CDPR doesnt have anything to do with it, which means we probably wont see any of their original characters.
