You think a patch could make the game look insanely beautiful ? Idk man I've never seen a Dev patch in a HUGE leap in graphical fidelity.
Not the patch part, the other things yes. Although that leak sounds like bs for the most part.

I don't mind going back to earth, but I don't want to spend another second in the Cosmodrone.

But yeah, none of the content after TTK inspires confidence for me. Best case scenario you can look at it as, 99% of Bungie was working on the sequel and the supposed "live team" did what they could.

This has been known to be the case for over a year. All Destiny updates after TTK came from a small team while the rest worked on Destiny 2.

In a lot of ways, post-TTK Destiny is the game at its all time lowest point. Massive stretches of time with no new content in sight, horrible communication, massive influx of micro-transactions, baffling balance changes, SRL, over-relience on recycled content, etc.

... Why did you list SRL as one of the examples of the game being at a low point? It was a popular and incredibly well-received event.

Why would you switch from PS4 to PC when Sony have the exclusive content?

There's a pretty good chance that the PC version looks better .

Which was a part of the game for three weeks before it disappeared for a year. It never really made sense why they got rid of it.

Even now when they brought it back it was a limited time event unless you want to do private matches.

No lie I would be extremely disappointed if D2 had no new classes.

If the old ones are changed significantly enough I wouldn't mind too much, be nice if they swap some skills around too.

But I was hoping they'd do 1 new class with a new element, so if there isn't, I'll be a bit disappointed too. Though I wouldn't be surprised if a new element class came eventually.

If you want to believe what you want to believe, sure.

Exactly the same thing happened with the Switch Reveal leak. Poster leaked everything, then deleted their posts.

I'd say a negative leak is more likely to be real than a positive leak.

In the context of leaks, it's always a crap shoot, I've seen it go multiple ways. Personally, I feel slightly more comfortable with leaks from mod-verified Gaffers and/or folks that have a long track record, but even that isn't 100% reliable.

Leaks from CrazyButtocks/JohnHarker/Shinobi rate higher than stuff from a burner account, but that's my opinion, and I could be wrong.

I mean yea I'd probably be okay if they added additional subclasses and more talents but I would love a new class over any of that.

Yeah same here, but lore wise they pretty much have all their bases covered and it would be a bit weird if a new class just suddenly appeared when never being mentioned in D1.

Then again D1 made no sense in the first place.

Really just hope they expand on more than just 3 choices per skill with one that is obviously better than the other 2 which makes 80% of builds the same.

I think some things work better as events otherwise it can lose its luster. It's a small game mode, not a full fledged racer, so having a constant "playlist" of SRL when it's only two tracks (and then, a year later, four tracks) can make it feel less special and I'm sure the playlist would end up being pretty dead.

Trust me, I love SRL...

...but I think it works better as an event.

That being said, once a year is terrible. It should be a quarterly event.

That would seem next to impossible to be true as Sparrows are a core focus of the game and pretty much necessary to move around the environments. Especially considering D2s are supposed to be even larger
No sparrows makes sense if they want us too see the dense content and not just fly by.

It makes sense to put core features towards the endgame if it´s indeed one of their goals to incentivize more players to engage with endgame content.

I believe a lot of people thought D1 was over once the final cutscene played.

I will say that I think leaks full of things that the community would be unsure about and not necessarily want to hear are decidedly more likely than leaks full of things the community would want to hear.

I mean, to an extent but some of the negatives seem weird. The removal or major reworking of Saturn mirrors the removal of/reworking of content from D1 right before release, which became a major source of criticism to the point that it was almost meme level. Makes me doubt the total veracity of the information given.

If one is going to pass off fake info, it makes sense to mix in confirmation of stuff already confirmed with BS that the community is likely to believe. Making some of that negative ensures maximum trolling.

Bungie did a poor job of guiding players to the Raid after the campaign ended.

I hope Raids are tied closer to the game narrative in D2.

You´re comparing leaks with other leaks though.

Bungie never announced Saturn - so if there is no Saturn there is no actual reason to be mad based on a leak that may or may not be true.

As always game development is dynamic - stuff changes all the time.

That´s not exclusive to Bungie.

They already were in TTK and ROI, but I agree - there´s even more they can do.

As long as they aren't mandatory to getting the story experience. I'll never play a raid and I don't want to miss out on the world building due to it

WTF? What is this?

I have a small child. Playing any game longer then twenty minutes at a time is a rare thing. Especially those without any pause option.

They seem cool and all that, but they just don't fit into my life.

Plus I'm not a native English speaker which makes communication challenging at times.

You need to play a raid, at least one. Trust me. There are like Destiny Dads and things like that. People are nice.

I'm feeling so weird right now about this unveiling. Like, excited as fuck, my brain is salivating for details, but I'm also trying to remain composed with expectations in check. Saying goodbye to D1 and the many years spent with it, and then opening myself up emotionally for a game that is, in many ways, likely to change up a formula I've become accustomed to and in some cases very protective of -- I'm equal parts hyped and scared.

Hold me Gaf.

I'm easily most excited for going into the new raids blind. That one was one of my best experiences with online gaming in D1...

It's not the same after a week or so when everyone knows whats what and are trying to grind/speedrun. It's magical going in with fresh eyes all round, venturing into the unknown.

I hoped they went into a direction i would have liked but if the leaks are true then im certainly not looking forward to the reveal anymore.

Nothing (NOTHING!) will ever beat the feeling of beating the Vault for the very first time.

I'm not comparing leaks to leaks. I'm looking at *this* leak from a skeptics point of view. I'm asking myself, "If I were to try to sell fake information, how would I make people believe in information?" And the answer to that is the same as it is for selling anything really. You play into the targets already held beliefs and ride hard on their fears.

Hence, you mix information that's already known OR believed and mix it with things they already fear. People have inherent confirmation bias, so you ride that for all it's worth. Once you have that established, you can start feeding them progressively more and more far fetched stuff and they're inclined to at least consider it rather than dismissing it outright as they would have before you earned their trust through deception.

This is textbook manipulation technique.

Sure, but that´s us manipulating each other.

Bungie has nothing to do with it.

If you´re looking for anything official there´s a teaser and a trailer and that´s it.

I'm not saying Bungie has anything to do with it. I was simply discussing the leak and expressing why I doubt its veracity.

There's a group called Destiny Dads that absolutely understands all you have to go through to be able to play. When D2 launches just go after them and have fun, you have this right too :D

I hope they remove all of the 1st person platforming -_-
Equip a sword and be happy.

Preach it!

Trying to figure everything out for the first time.. with almost a full team of randoms.. not knowing what's round the corner.. hearing whispers from Reddit threads about possible techniques.. What an experience.
