Regardless of my feelings for the content of the vanilla game, if two of my best friends get it I'll likely get it myself. I use these games to play and chat with them since I'm not usually into the multiplayer games they enjoy and vice versa. And a third and fourth friend are likely to join us in destiny as well anyways.

I don't know how much of that leak is true (or old) but one thing I'll say is that the anonymous Reddit/4chan leaks that seem the most boring are usually the ones that turn out to be real...

judging from people's reactions here, it's all real cuz everyone found them boring.

The biggest question is will the great Vita control scheme return?

Vita is dead so nope.

There's a reddit rumor including:
- PC version is Battle.net
- PvP is four player
- Basic PvE teams are four player, wasn't sure on raid count
- Same three classes, but totally redone sub-classes
- You have two primaries now, one regular damage, one Elemental
- The base locations are theee Jupiter moons and Earth, but they're much bigger zones than the first game
- Game has way more content than Destiny 1 both before and after level 20
- Heavy machine guns removed in favor of grenade launchers
- New weapon type they didn't want to spoil
- Your sparrow unlocks after you beat the game
- Looking for group tools of some kind for end game, didn't specify what
- I believe they thought it was 30 FPS but wasn't positive
- I can't remember if there was anything else, someone here probably remembers

I don't believe a few things about this leak...the 30fps thing is bad but what i expected...locations seem to make sense too

I really don't expect them to move from 3 fireteam to 4...that was the thing that set them apart and it worked well...so multi should be 3 or 6

The battle.net thing is insane...they just renamed it to blizzard and then they would put a different devs game on it? is that not insane?

Honestly I don't really have many wants in terms of weapons/abilities for Destiny 2. My wants are based around how you explore the world. Mainly, I'd love it if the game just treated every area like a patrol zone from the first game.

No selecting missions from the director and jumping directly into them. Let me explore everything to my heart's content and initiate missions while I explore.

Unless they renamed it Blizzard so that Activision could repurpose the name "Battle.net" for all its other games. Though it would be a lot more compelling if Blizz stuff was included.

I actually still have the page up from last night:

Assuming the leaker is legit. I I'm not entirely sure I understand what he means when talking areas/zones.

He says we'll visit 4 places. And that each place is around twice the size of the D1 zones, but then he also says there are roughly 3 times as many zones per location. That last part I don't understand.

I took that to mean the various areas within the zones, like the "Scrapyard" and "Forgotten Shore" type areas within the zones. Really hope there's a damn map this time at least.

They renamed the app to Blizzard. The battle.net site is still active. We could see something like the portal is Battle.net with links to the "Blizzard app" and "Destiny app"

i am a little confused about the streaming/footage stuff.

I get that there will be a pre-stream in 2.5 hours, and then then the real stream in 3.5 hours, but what about all that stuff going on w/ the people who were invited to play? Is this going to be an ongoing thing for the day or.. ?

I think it goes for a few hours after the stream.

I hope that, if they are returning, Bungie corrects the travesty they committed when they made Trip Mines stop sticking. Do the right thing, Bungie

So... what's the chance 4 ends up being the universal size of fireteams in Destiny 2 for any activity, including 'raids'?

Please reassure me it's not gonna be like that.

That wouldn't make much sense to me, that would mean that they would have to make the open areas within the zones smaller compared to Destiny 1, if each zone is twice the size of a D1 zone.

I guess we will found out soon though.

That would be a great way to make most Destiny 1 fans mad I think

Oh visually it looks like Horizon Zero Dawn, lot of little details being packed. The social spaces are divided into 2 (or 3?) one at the start of the game, the other opens up at the end. Open areas were named as Earth, Myraid, Titan and Ganimede. Xur will be on the the (final?) planet each weekend and not in the social space...

Which is your favorite weapon in Destiny 1? I have to say Fatebringer. It was a monster before the nerf.

Mida Multi Tool and it's not even close. The Regime was my first exotic though and I killed with it before the nerf. Still for me Mida is the best weapon in the game's history.

I just hope the live team doesn't fuck with the weapons too much once the game is out, I hated having to readjust my playstyle after every patch.

Fresh take: no matter what they reveal, this board will be full of disappointment and concern.

Fresher take: like Destiny, Destiny 2 will be an extremely fun game regardless of what subclasses or planets we have.

Of all the BS rumors to roll through the past week, this sounds the most plausible.

Wouldn't that really just confuse more people though? Battle.net has been a Blizzard thing for decades, rebooting it as a Not-Blizzard thing a year later would just be weird and confuse your customer base.

edit:
In general for Destiny 2, what I really want is improved clan/guild features. Some of my best memories of WoW were with regular guildies I got to interact with, even if we were just shooting the shit in gchat. It also made putting together guild runs very very easy since we didn't have to join any groups or anything to communicate.

I'm sure that those who loved Destiny 1 will love this one.

Bungie is pretty confident. You don't it happen too often that streamers are able to record everything they see. There's no restriction...

definitely. Was just saying that to some friends this morning.

Honestly .. I'm just excited about the fact there is a Destiny 2. New game, new content. More stuff for our clan to have fun with and enjoy. Some will be concerned with end-game content, PvE, PvP, blah blah blah ... that's cool. I still play every day .. even if the end-game was the same end-game I ended the game with when the game ended.

DestinyGAF is one of the best Destiny communities and I've made some amazing friends because of it.

Yup, totally my situation too. I'm already stuck buying this because like 5 of my best friends are. Regardless of what they announce, I'm gonna be trudging through this.

Thats true lol. Plus the leaker said (paraphrasing) they chose the most generic (boring) leaks to stay anonymous

Destiny 1 was revealed (at first) behind closed doors. Later on, the public got a view at gameplay (which was scripted to the absolute limit). When the public eventually got to play the game, alot of it was changed.

Tell us more.

I guess that chances of PC footage coming out of this event are close to zero.

It will probably all be on PS4 Pro, like how we know from a PS Blog post from last night that hands-on for those attending the event will be on PS4 Pro.

Gotta say, I am unbelievably hyped to see what Bungie has in store

Don't care at all for the PvE content from the original game (though hey, if they can make it better I'm open to it!) but Crucible is so much fun.

Favorite weapon was No Land Beyond. Bought it just because everyone whined about how it was the worst gun in the game and ended up really loving it. Switching between NLB and a shotgun while sliding and gliding about, so goooood

I love Pokken!
Earth focused is a huge plus for me. We barely get to see the what exactly halpened to earth after technological advancements change it, we essentially have been to no earth cities, we havent been to popular earth landmarks/cities like New York, etc.

There is so much they can do with an Earth focused game.

I feel the complete opposite, Earth was so boring in D1, while places like The Reef, Mercury and Venus were far more interesting.
